About Island Family Clinic Sengkang
Island Family Clinic Sengkang is a general practice clinic located at 279 Sengkang East Avenue, serving patients in Sengkang and the surrounding north-east region. KakiList has verified operating details and contact channels. The clinic holds a 4/5 rating across 77 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable indication of patient experience. No regulatory licences have been supplied to KakiList at this time, so prospective patients are encouraged to confirm the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council registration directly before attending.
For a first visit to a GP clinic, patients typically present with an acute concern — fever, respiratory symptoms, skin conditions, or a chronic disease review — or attend for health screening. At a primary-care level, the pathway is generally walk-in or appointment by phone or online form, with the consultation covering history, examination, basic investigations where indicated, and prescription or referral to a specialist if the condition warrants it. Patients managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidaemia may access the Chronic Disease Management Programme, which extends MediSave withdrawal limits for outpatient treatment. CHAS cardholders and Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents with applicable subsidies should confirm eligibility directly with the clinic.

Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Very poor planning and coordination! I made an appointment at 10am for my HealtierSG appointment. I arrived 5 mins early and I was made to wait more than 40 mins still yet seen a doctor. I approached the Chinese Receptionist who told me “sorry you have to queue with the mainstream walk-in patients although you made an appointment at 10am” Then what’s the point of making appointment? Then the doctor when I saw him said oh we have a framework to decide which patient to see first. Wasted my time.
I went there in the morning and found out that this clinic is not bad, in my opinion. The doctor is friendly and gave clear instructions, he can speak both English and Mandarin. The counter also provides good service and clear instructions. The location is also easy to find.
irresponsible clinic staff. didn’t give my girl her chas card discount and said that her system indicated that her card is expired. But when she reached home, her card wasn’t expired at all and the staff didn’t apologise for their poor service and even told her to go back before they close to refund her. reply to the comment: she has been to this clinic before and used the chas card. she also clarified with the staff whether it is necessary to tell them that she has a chas card everytime she visits or is it already in their system and they told her that if it is already in their system she doesn’t need to show it. however, what the staff told her is that the chas card reflected in the system (from her previous visit) has expired and she said that is this year feb. which is not true at all as her chas card was issued in nov 2023 and it is valid till year nov 2025
There are excellent doctors there me and mt family if we are sick will go there because of their Doctors are excellent.
Had a terrible throat infection over 3 days and medication from a different clinic was not helpful. Decided to visit this clinic based on good reviews and was not disappointed. Came during morning opening hours and waiting time was not that overly long. Dr Sim was my attending GP. He diagnosed my condition and was thorough in explaining my treatment options and the medication he intended to prescribe. My symptoms were relieved relatively quickly the same afternoon and after a day, I was almost symptom-free and I felt recovered after two days. Will definitely visit again whenever I need a GP.

GP consultation fees at private family clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with after-hours or urgent consultations sometimes carrying a surcharge. On top of the consultation, you may be billed separately for investigations (blood panel S$60–200, X-ray S$80–150), medications dispensed at the clinic, and any minor procedures. GST applies on private medical services. If you hold a CHAS card (Blue, Orange, or Merdeka tier), confirm whether Island Family Clinic Sengkang is a CHAS-accredited clinic, as this can substantially reduce out-of-pocket costs for Singapore Citizens with chronic conditions. Any planned procedure should be accompanied by a written cost estimate splitting insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor is listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg; search by name to confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. KakiList has not been provided with licence details for Island Family Clinic Sengkang at this time. Before attending, particularly for ongoing chronic disease management or any procedure, confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration directly with the clinic. Neither the clinic licence nor the SMC entry alone is sufficient — you need both.
MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, up to S$500–700 per year depending on the withdrawal limit tier. For general GP visits not under CDMP, MediSave is not typically claimable for outpatient consultations. If you hold an Integrated Shield Plan (IP) layered on MediShield Life, check whether your plan covers private GP visits or specialist referrals — most IPs focus on inpatient and day-surgery coverage rather than routine outpatient GP consultations. For any planned day surgery or specialist referral, request a financial counselling session and a written estimate itemising insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. Confirm MediSave and CHAS eligibility directly with the clinic at the time of registration.
