About Joyous Learning Academy
Joyous Learning Academy is a private tutoring provider operating islandwide from its centre at Block 177 Toa Payoh Central, Singapore 310177. It is KakiList verified and ACRA registered, and holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 108 reviews — a robust sample that suggests consistent satisfaction among past students and families.
Families typically begin by enquiring about subject and level fit, whether the academy's approach aligns with the relevant syllabus (MOE, IB, IGCSE, or others), and whether group or one-to-one sessions are more appropriate for their child. It is worth clarifying the trial class arrangement, any term or monthly commitment expected, and whether sessions are conducted in person at the Toa Payoh centre or online. Bringing along recent school results or assessment papers can help the tutor gauge the student's current level before the first session.
To take the next step, reach out to Joyous Learning Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about subject availability, current scheduling, and how to arrange a trial class.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My son is in Primary 6 this year and attended Math, English, English composition and Science lessons at Joyous since the Jun holidays. He says that the teachers were very kind and understanding; they taught at an appropriate pace and in a way that everyone understood. The teachers were patient and very encouraging too. Through his lessons, he has built on concepts and understanding. And I could see that the teachers engaged him and motivated him to keep improving - thank you, Joyous!
Our daughter has been attending Joyous Sunday Maths and English lessons since early 2024. She is currently Pri 6! I have seen gradual yet distinctive improvements in her academic learning, as well as social development. Truly grateful to Teacher Cindy for her dedication and care for the students!
I have two children attending classes here and both have benefited from this boutique tuition center. Teacher Stella has been wonderful with my P4 daughter for Math. She is incredibly patient and has a gift for keeping my daughter engaged and interested in the subject. Mrs Ang taught my P6 son writing for the year and made an impact on his composition skills. She provided constructive feedback that helped him understand where to improve, and taught him useful planning and execution techniques that have really strengthened his writing for PSLE.
My son really enjoyed the GEP classes and always looked forward to them. He often comes home excited to share what he has learnt. Mr Sim is both firm and approachable, which makes learning enjoyable and motivating. We also appreciate that his feedback goes beyond just GEP prep, focusing on my son’s overall growth and love for learning.
We are very glad to have chosen Joyous to support our daughter’s PSLE preparation. Thanks to the teachers’ diligence, encouragement, and attentive guidance, she achieved a wonderful result. We are truly grateful and highly recommend Joyous to other students and parents.

Joyous Learning Academy displays a mid-range price indicator, though specific per-session rates are not published on this listing. Private tuition in Singapore is typically priced on a per-session or monthly package basis, with some providers also offering term-bundle rates. A one-off trial class may be priced separately from ongoing sessions. Extras to clarify before committing include any materials or workbook fees, sibling discounts, and whether package rates apply if you book multiple subjects or sessions per week. Confirming all costs in writing before the first paid session is advisable. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →
Many private tuition providers offer a trial class so families can assess whether the teaching style, pace, and level are a good match for the student. It is worth asking Joyous Learning Academy whether their trial session is complimentary or charged at the standard rate, and what the format will be. During the trial, pay attention to whether the tutor probes the student's existing gaps, adjusts explanations based on responses, and keeps the student engaged throughout. A session that feels slightly challenging but accessible is generally a positive sign. If the trial does not feel right — whether in terms of level, rapport, or approach — it is entirely reasonable to ask questions or explore a different format before committing to a term.
Tutor credentials are not detailed in the current listing. Relevant qualifications to enquire about include whether tutors hold a degree in the subject they teach, whether any hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from NIE or have prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been tutoring at the relevant level. It is also worth asking which syllabuses the tutors are familiar with — for example, MOE PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE — particularly if your child follows an international or specialised curriculum. Contact Joyous Learning Academy directly to request this information before committing to a term. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
