My children rejoined JS Athletics after being away in Japan for nearly 5 years. We are in SG for the summer holiday. Many new faces, but Coach Manjit is still there! My oldest son and grade 8 daughter recognized him as if he coached them last week. Feels like they never left JS - my children. Indeed they didn’t; In Japan, they ran with the JS training tips and protocol. For two years, when we were in Spore with JS, we attentively listened to the coaches, including coach Lydia and Jack. Coach Lydia coached my youngest son, Lucas, then 5yo, the runners’ mindset; she imbued confidence and the joy of running. Yesterday, Lucas 10yo blazed the track with smiles, effort and enthusiasm. If you are looking for coaches who teaches the right way to run, JS athletics is the gold standard.
Well managed set up, with great coaches with experience & proven credentials and a good crop of young athletes. Our 12 year old daughter did a trial with JS Athletics at MOE Evans today, she liked it , as she was able to train with other mid-long distance athletes of her age group Coach Manjit kept the children engaged and in good spirits.

JS Athletics is listed at the mid-range ($$) price tier, but specific per-session fees, monthly packages, and term rates are not publicly displayed on this listing. Sports coaching in Singapore typically ranges from S$30–80 per session for group classes and S$80–200 or more for one-to-one coaching, depending on the discipline, level, and instructor credentials. When enquiring, ask whether fees are charged per session, per month, or per term, and whether a trial class is available at a reduced or separate rate. Clarify whether there are additional costs for materials, uniforms, or facility access. Sibling discounts and package deals are common — worth asking about if you have more than one child enrolling. Many sports schools in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a nominal fee, to allow parents and children to assess whether the programme is the right fit. During a trial, look out for how the coach engages with different age groups and ability levels, whether the pace and structure suit your child, and how large the group is relative to the number of coaches present. It is also useful to observe whether the teaching style is encouraging and age-appropriate, and whether your child is engaged throughout. A trial class is the most reliable way to assess fit before committing to a full term. Contact JS Athletics via the enquiry form to ask whether a trial session is available and what it costs.
Specific coach qualifications and backgrounds are not listed in the publicly available information for JS Athletics. For a sports school, relevant credentials may include national coaching accreditation (such as certificates from Sport Singapore or a relevant national sports association), prior competitive experience, or a background in physical education. It is advisable to ask directly about the lead coach's qualifications, how many years they have been coaching, and whether instructors hold first-aid certification. For swimming specifically, ask whether coaches are Singapore Swimming Association-accredited. If the discipline involves a structured syllabus or graded progression, ask how student progress is tracked and communicated to parents.
