About "Kayak Asia"
Kayak Asia is a sport and swimming school operating islandwide from its base at 59C Temple Street, Singapore 058604. It is KakiList-verified, meaning a real person has confirmed its operating details and contact channels. The school holds a Google rating of 4.4 out of 5, though this is based on 27 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than definitive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier.
Families interested in enrolling should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether sessions are appropriate for a beginner, intermediate, or more advanced participant, and how the programme aligns with any school or national syllabus requirements. It is worth asking whether classes are run in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this can affect both pacing and cost. Prospective students or parents should also clarify term commitment expectations, any materials or equipment fees, and whether sessions are held at a fixed venue or vary by location. Given that Kayak Asia covers islandwide, confirming the specific venue for your cohort before enrolment is advisable.
To take the next step, reach out to Kayak Asia via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, request details on a trial class, and confirm which programme best suits your child's age and experience level.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Joined the Sentosa Trail by Kayakasia this morning, 28 Dec 2025! On a bright Sunday with a cool breeze, we met our guide Shu at Tanjong Beach. The kayaking was fun and we get to see a different view of Sentosa. Took a short walk to Fort Siloso to enjoy a bird’s eye view. Shu served us a sumptuous breakfast of fruits, pastries and coffee/tea. Shu is very knowledgeable and professional in running the trip and managing the group. Overall a wonderful experience. Looking forward to try other trails.
I booked a kayak trip in Bohol, Philippines for myself and my partner on 5th January 2026. We booked a night kayak to see the fireflies up and down the river. I would have to say the experience was one of the best tours of my life. The guides were so friendly and knowledgeable and could answer all our questions in depth. They were passionate about the kayaking and the fireflies and we could see they had a deep care about the environment and preserving this wonderful experience. It was my partners birthday and I had mentioned that fleetingly when we arrived. Unknown to us, while we were out kayaking, he organised one of the crew on land to go and purchase a cake for her. They surprised us all (me included) by walking out and singing Happy Birthday for her after our included meal. I would highly recommend this tour in Bohol if you were thinking of seeing the fireflies.
We had a great experience doing the Ubin 1river trail with our guide Shoe. She did an excellent job and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We had a group of 4 (plus 1 guide), as group sizes are generally smaller during weekdays. Shoe learnt our names, and there was also plenty of time for having nice chats and learning lots of new facts during the kayaking. Shoe was friendly and approachable, she also took great care to make sure we were comfortable, well-fed (curry puff breakfast, fruits and drinks!) and safe (e.g. finding the best route up the mangrove bank). The kayaking was very fun and it was great to see another side of Singapore. We saw lots of wildlife (including: a large monitor lizard; 2 kingfishers; jellyfishes; herons etc.), and beautiful places (e.g. the quarries on Ubin). Pace was good and you don't necessarily need previous kayaking experience. Even though it was a hot day, we were able to splash the sea water on ourselves to cool down. Would definitely recommend wearing long sleeved clothing with SPF protection, shoes for water sports, and applying plenty of sunscreen. All in all, I will definitely be going for another trip with Kayakasia again... Highly recommended!
We signed up for Ubin 4Rivers kayaking trail which is a half day trail and costs SGD125/person. Children below 12 years are charged SGD 12/person. Booking: the lead Mr Huey is quite responsive and booking process was smooth. He provided enough information for us to prepare well. You need to do full payment for booking your slot. Preparation: anyone with or without kayaking experience can sign up but definitely you should be fit enough to kayaking for 4-5 hours. Kayaks are 2 seaters so having a good partner makes journey easy and pleasurable. Many people bring kids below 12 which is fine but remember you will be the one doing rowing as kids get tired soon. We were advised to wear full sleeve and leg covering clothes which I strongly recommend. Wear a hat, better than a cap and yes do remember to put your mobile in waterproof pouch, good if it comes with a lanyard. Another v imp thing, buy water shoes maybe from Decathlon and don't wear your regular sports shoes as even before putting your first step on kayak your shoes will be submerged in water. Carry some drinking water and maybe some energy bars. The D Day: we arrived around 7.30 am at Pasir Park carpark E, the starting point of journey. The team consisting of Mr Huey, Felicia and another lady gave a good briefing. They also provided Backpacks to leave behind our extra stuff (change clothes etc). The journey started at 8 am. Beginners will try to get a hang of Kayak paddles and controlling the kayak. There is protected water area around 100 meters into water so you get to practice a bit and for someone like me get rid of fear of paddling in the sea. Crossing the strait to Pulau Ubin: to be honest I was really scared of this part but it turned out to be much safer and easy. Your guide Mr Huey and his assistant took v good care of the group ensuring everyone safely crosses the strait to Pulau Ubin. Pulau Ubin: once you hit Pulau Ubin you start with SungI Jelutong. You truly feel like in a rainforest with bird songs, lots n lots of mangroves and the river snaking through the island. Kayaking is less effort intensive in backwaters than in open sea but you need to navigate well otherwise you get stuck in mangroves. Keep your speed low and focus on direction while absorbing the beautiful surroundings. We paddled all the way up to near Malaysian border fence and took a halt there. It took around 3 hrs or more to reach there. The last part of reaching there involved paddling against the current which was a bit tough. Also you don't realise when to transition from one Ubin river to another. Crossing under a low bridge, passing through a narrow channels and also getting stuck in mangroves was all part of fun. Breakfast: the northernmost point is the half way mark of journey and time to have some breakfast. Kayakasia team provided curry puffs, bananas, watermelon, mandarins and tea/coffee to the group. It was really much required recharging. Being amateur kayakers our arms were starting to hurt by this time. The journey back: the journey back was much quicker. By the time we reached back on sea channel we were already tired but the channel needed to be crossed. Gathering all energy we went for the final push and viola we were back on Pasir ris park. In the trail I saw some birds, crabs, mud flippers and a fish (maybe escaping the fish farm) Overall: an excellent family outing. Specially mention of My Huey who is a charming person and took v good care of the group. No complaints at all. PS: My arms really hurt a lot the whole day and even next day. Maybe I need to improve my technique.
I had fun with my friends as we kayak through Pulau Ubin mangroves/rivers. It was such a fun experience with my friends but it wasn’t really a great experience with the guide. If you attend this kayak guide with lots of expectations, I suggest you not to have any expectations. Our guide, Chuan, was out of our sight most of the time and did not really explain the journey etc (It’s a guide, I was expecting to learn a thing or two at the end of the session but I really didn’t). He also didn’t even bother to get to know our names, unlike the other guides. While I understand that kayak is a relatively safe sport, I believe a thorough safety briefing should still be carried out. There was none (or minimal) as far as I can remember. I went during P2HA, I understand that consumption was not allowed. So they replaced the late breakfast with some hats voucher 🤔 please take note that the meal is complimentary and not part of the package. The guide did take photos of us. We received 18 photos. 18 photos out of a 5 hour session with a total of 9 participants. That’s 2 pics per person on average. 🥲 If you are someone who is easily triggered/anxious, you might not want to do this because as I’ve said our guide is out of sight most of the time and imagine being the last boat in the middle of the mangrove while you had to manoeuvre around a fallen tree. With all that said, I’ll actually go again because the other trips sound fun and adventurous but I’ll come with zero expectations 😇 Just to have fun with my friends and enjoy the kayak/view. Really appreciate Ling for hearing my feedback with an open mind.

Some providers charge a separate registration fee at enrolment. See the full Sport and Swimming Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many sport and swimming schools in Singapore offer a trial class before requiring term or package commitment, though policies vary. A trial session gives you the opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits your child, whether the pace and level are appropriate, and whether your child is engaged and comfortable with the group. When attending a trial, pay attention to the instructor-to-student ratio, how feedback is delivered, and whether the session follows a clear structure. Contact Kayak Asia directly via WhatsApp or phone to confirm whether a trial class is available, what it costs, and what to bring.
Specific instructor credentials are not listed in the publicly available information for Kayak Asia. For kayaking and water sports instruction, relevant qualifications may include Singapore Canoe Federation certifications, national coaching accreditation, or equivalent regional paddling instructor awards. Years of coaching experience and any competitive or expedition background are also worth asking about. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask which instructor or coach will be assigned to your group, what certification they hold, and how long they have been teaching at this level. Kayak Asia can be contacted via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form.
