About "Kids Chess Club Singapore"
Kids Chess Club Singapore is an enrichment class provider operating islandwide from its centre at United Square. It holds a KakiList verified status, meaning operating details and contact information have been confirmed by a real person. The club carries a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5 across 62 reviews — a moderate sample that offers a reasonable directional signal. Fees are positioned in the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session pricing is not publicly listed.
Families interested in enrolling can reach the club via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about level appropriateness — whether a child is a complete beginner or has some exposure to the game — and to confirm which sessions align with their schedule. It is worth asking whether classes are conducted in small groups or one-to-one, what the typical age range is per group, and whether there is a term commitment or a more flexible month-to-month arrangement. Enquiring about syllabus progression — from basic piece movement through to tournament play — will help gauge whether the programme matches your child's current ability and longer-term goals.
The most straightforward next step is to contact Kids Chess Club Singapore directly via WhatsApp or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, session fees, and whether a trial class is on offer before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Teacher Sebastian is really patient with the children and my kid is enjoying all his classes for the past year. The teachers are well trained, the administration is responsive. They run a tight ship in the limited space they have at Novena. They know what they are doing and how to get to the kids. Maybe chess really can be taught at 3!
Teacher Kevin is a gem! My child has been learning chess with Teacher Kevin at Three Chess Singapore, and the progress has been amazing. He’s incredibly patient, encouraging, and explains strategies in a way that’s fun and easy to grasp—even for young beginners. You can tell he truly cares about each student’s growth, not just as chess players but as thinkers. The sessions are always engaging, and my child looks forward to every class. Thank you, Teacher Kevin, for making chess such a meaningful and enjoyable journey!
Signed my child for the chess class and he enjoyed it tremendously. They make it fun for children to learn. Recommended!
We have two children attending this program. Chess at Three does an amazing job keeping kids engaged in the game with fun stories and variant games to keep things fresh for the kids while also teaching core chess knowledge. The staff not only knows their chess, but also know how to help kids learn universal values like handling loss, perseverance, thinking creatively/outside the box, and also how to get along well in groups during competitive play. My kids come away with actual tactical knowledge for real chess tournaments while also telling me stories about the different chess “characters” and what adventures they had during the class. In the past, we had gone to a traditional chess school (which was great!) but the kids could be engaged/disengaged depending on the day. With this program, the kids are always excited to go and view it as fun rather than a form of tutoring/homework. Creating a love for the game I think makes it more likely they will stick with it and become proficient with their skills. Plus they have a fun ‘Birchguard’ quest (separate from the chess lessons), which is like a role playing critical thinking adventure that the kids love. The camps and tournaments are also lots of fun. Highly recommended!
It is more of a storytelling class rather than chess. If you’re looking for your child to learn chess this is not the place, the coaches can barely play chess. If you’re looking for a very fun story telling session this is it, the coaches are really good at their craft at storytelling. I guess we didn’t read the fine print.

Kids Chess Club Singapore has not published specific session fees on its listing. In Singapore, enrichment chess classes typically range from S$30–60 per session for group classes and S$80–150 per session for one-to-one coaching. Providers often offer monthly or termly packages that work out at a lower per-session rate than drop-in pricing. A registration or materials fee may apply on enrolment. It is worth asking whether sibling discounts or multi-session package deals are available, and whether the trial class (if offered) is charged at the standard rate or at a reduced rate. Many enrichment chess providers in Singapore offer a trial class so that parents and children can assess the teaching style, group dynamics, and level fit before signing up for a full term. It is reasonable to ask Kids Chess Club Singapore whether such a trial is available and whether it carries a fee. During a trial, watch whether the instructor adjusts explanations to the child's ability, whether the child is engaged throughout, and whether the pace feels appropriately challenging without being overwhelming. A good fit at this stage matters more than proximity or schedule convenience, so take the session seriously as an evaluation tool rather than a formality.
Specific coach credentials are not listed publicly for Kids Chess Club Singapore. For a chess enrichment programme, relevant signals to ask about include FIDE ratings, tournament experience at national or international level, experience coaching children in the specific age group your child falls into, and whether coaches are aligned with the Singapore Chess Federation's developmental pathway. It is also worth asking how many coaches are involved, whether your child will have a consistent instructor each session, and how the club handles substitutions when a regular coach is unavailable. Ask directly when you make your enquiry.
