About Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World

About Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World

Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World is a general practice clinic located at Beauty World Plaza, directly accessible from Beauty World MRT Exit A on Upper Bukit Timah Road. The clinic holds a 4.3-star rating across 527 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides a reasonable indication of patient experience. No regulatory licences are listed in the current directory data, and ACRA registration has not been confirmed, so patients are encouraged to verify the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration before attending.

For a first visit, patients typically walk in or contact the clinic via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form to check queue status or available appointment slots. A GP consultation covers presenting symptoms, medication prescriptions, referral letters to specialist outpatient clinics where indicated, and routine health screening. Patients wishing to use MediSave or an Integrated Shield Plan for any investigations or procedures should confirm eligibility at the point of registration, as GP consultations at private clinics are generally not claimable under MediShield Life unless the service falls under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, and asthma. For subsidised access with a polyclinic referral pathway, the clinic team can advise on the appropriate route.

To begin, contact Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World via WhatsApp or phone to check current operating hours, queue length, or whether an appointment is required before making your way to the clinic.

Waited 1 hour+++ with 2 people in queue on a Monday Evening at 7pm. Counter staff mentioned that insurance claim will take longer to process??? I’ve been to many clinics but this is definitely unique to me ! Very sick and very tired of waiting. Came to clinic , throat feeling itchy , left clinic with confusion over staff’s comment & now my head is pain

Very friendly and helpful staffs. Get my LPA certification done within 15mins. Book morning slots if possible. $30 for LPA, so far the cheapest I can find.

If you struggle to communicate confidently, I would not recommend choosing this clinic for your LPA application. The doctor seemed to expect patients to understand and use formal medical jargon, regardless of their educational background, and did not appear willing to adapt his communication style or use simpler language when needed. Having difficulty understanding a patient does not justify labelling someone as mentally unfit to proceed. If the issue was a language barrier, the doctor could have simply said he was not the right person to assess the patient due to communication limitations. Instead, the interaction felt rigid and lacking in empathy. People with less formal education still deserve to be treated with respect. Words have power, and remarks like this can cause lasting emotional harm—especially for elderly patients. My parents were left feeling belittled and embarrassed. Overall, my experience suggests this clinic may be more suitable for patients who can communicate in proper English, and may not be ideal for elderly patients or those who need a more patient, flexible approach.

I previously had a very positive experience at this clinic with Dr Andrea, who treated my son for infected fingers. She was patient, kind, and thorough—clearly explaining the treatment plan, being honest about the limits of her familiarity, checking with colleagues, and following through exactly as promised at the next review. That experience gave me confidence in the clinic. Unfortunately, my recent first visit for myself with Dr Joel Lim was disappointing. I attended for persistent blocked hearing after returning from overseas, having had multiple flights while unwell and having already seen a GP abroad. Subjectively, Dr Lim appeared dismissive and somewhat sceptical of the treatment I had received overseas, and I did not feel much empathy during the consultation. Objectively, the assessment felt incomplete. Only one ear was examined, despite my complaint of blocked hearing in general. No explanation was given as to why examining only one ear was sufficient. I was prescribed steroidal medication and an enzyme “as needed,” but there was minimal explanation regarding the rationale, evidence, dosage, or duration. I did not feel there was space for discussion or shared decision-making, particularly regarding whether I even wanted these medications—especially the enzyme, which I remain unsure about. Given this experience, I can understand concerns raised in other reviews about being prescribed medications that may not be clearly necessary. Ultimately, it’s not just about clinical knowledge, but about how a healthcare professional makes a patient feel. In this consultation, Dr Lim came across as disinterested, and the care felt rushed and impersonal, despite the closing pleasantry to “take care.” This was a stark contrast to the thoughtful and complete care we previously received at the same clinic.

Brought my elderly mum (80+ yrs old, mentally fit but not able to speak like a normal person) to do LPA at the clinic and it was an extremely bad experience. Before we went to the clinic, I called the clinic to enquire. Told the receptionist that my mum was not able to speak normally but she was assessed by a psychiastrist to be mentally capable to do LPA. I specifically highlighted my mum's condition to the receptionist and asked her whether can the doctor do LPA with my mum. Receptionist confirmed that my mum can do LPA at the clinic as long my mum is able to understand. She also confirmed the charge is $30 (I specifically double-checked on the charge in case there is additional charge as doctor may need longer time to communicate with my mum). Over the phone, the receptionist told me that only my mum is allowed to see the doctor during the LPA session, and that the caregiver/donee has to stay outside the doctor's room. So I repeatedly highlight to her that my mum is not able to speak normally and does not know how to handle app on the phone. Receptionist said the staff in the clinic will assist. With this confirmation I went ahead to book the LPA appointment and applied the LPA online. But when we turned up for the LPA appointment at the clinic on 2 dec 2025 at around 6.10pm, the receptionist at the counter was hesitant to register my mum. We showed her the memo from the psychiatrist (which stated that my mum is mentally fit to do LPA) and explained to her what was communicated to the receptionist over the phone earlier and what the receptionist has confirmed and assured us. The receptionist at the counter consulted the doctor, asked us to show the online LPA on OPGO website (which we did). But the doctor did not want to see my mum to do LPA for her, citing it was because my mum is not able to communicate. But isn't this already highlighted to the clinic before I booked the appointment ?? It took a lot of efforts for my elderly mum to travel to the clinic. So not wanted the effort to be wasted, we requested to talk to the doctor to explain my mum's communication ability to the doctor, but the request was turned down. In the end, we had to leave the clinic (after spending more than an hour in the clinic) without LPA done. Such a disappointing experience! If the clinic does not have the competency to do LPA for people who couldn't speak normally, the clinic should tell customer upfront when customer called to enquire, not tell customer only after customer has turned up at your clinic. Please spare some thoughts for the patients and their family/caregiver.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World charge?

GP consultation fees at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with after-hours or weekend consultations sometimes carrying a surcharge. Additional charges apply for investigations such as a blood panel (S$60–200), X-ray (S$80–150), or urine dipstick, as well as for prescription medications dispensed on-site. GST applies on private medical services. For planned investigations or any referred day procedures, request a written financial counselling estimate that separates insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding. CDMP-registered conditions may allow MediSave withdrawal of up to S$500–700 per year for qualifying outpatient treatment at an approved CDMP provider. Confirm CDMP enrolment eligibility with the clinic directly. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — this is verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also be listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. No licences are recorded in the current KakiList directory entry for Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World. This does not necessarily mean the clinic is unlicensed, but the absence of a confirmed MOH licence in the listing means patients should verify directly with the clinic or check the MOH and SMC registers before attending. Confirm both the clinic premises licence and the named consulting doctor's SMC entry — neither alone is sufficient. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient stays and day surgery — routine GP consultations at private clinics are generally not claimable under IP coverage unless the visit results in a planned procedure or admission. MediSave outpatient withdrawal is available under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — up to S$500 per year for general outpatient CDMP-listed conditions and S$700 per year where the programme criteria are met — covering hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, selected mental health conditions, and others. For any investigation beyond the standard consultation — blood panels, imaging, or referral procedures — ask the clinic for a written cost estimate that separates what MediSave can cover, any IP benefit, and the out-of-pocket amount before you agree to proceed. Pre-authorisation from your IP insurer is typically required for planned procedures to avoid claim disputes after the fact. Skipping the financial counselling step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill. Contact Kingsway Medical Clinic Beauty World via WhatsApp or phone to confirm which MediSave-claimable services they offer and whether they are enrolled as an approved CDMP provider before your visit.
