Families interested in enrolling a child should begin by enquiring about the appropriate level and programme fit — whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced, and which age group or swim stage applies. It is worth clarifying whether classes are conducted in groups or on a one-to-one basis, what the term commitment looks like, and whether a trial class is available before signing up for a full term. The centre is located on Thomson Road, which is accessible by bus and is near major residential areas, but families travelling from other parts of the island should factor in journey time given that the academy also serves islandwide.
To take the next step, contact KTMA Academy via WhatsApp or phone to ask about available slots, current term dates, and whether a trial class can be arranged before committing to ongoing enrolment.
Take the trial class and confirm the instructor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I have 2 kids going to KTMA Novena and they love going for their weekly classes. There is an excellent blend of fun and discipline in the way KTMA Novena instructors conduct the Taekwondo classes which makes it enjoyable for the young ones to effectively learn the sport. The manager is super helpful in ensuring a smooth administrative process for parents. The facility is well kept though it could use a bit of a refresh.
I’ve had an amazing experience at KTMA Taekwondo Novena! The environment is welcoming, energetic, and truly motivating. A special shout-out to Shah, the manager — he’s always approachable, professional, and genuinely cares about every student’s progress and comfort. His positive energy really sets the tone for the whole academy. Big thanks as well to the instructors, who are patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. They break down techniques clearly, push you to do your best, and make every session both fun and challenging. If you’re looking for a place to learn Taekwondo, get fitter, or just join a supportive community, KTMA Novena is definitely the right choice! Highly recommended. 💯🥋
My son really enjoys his Taekwondo lessons at KTMA. He first started Taekwondo in preschool where KTMA was the vendor. He developed a strong rapport with the Taekwondo teacher, who was able to sustain interest and engage the keens. My son was very keen to continue lessons when he graduated from preschool. Attending KTMA at Novena was a natural choice. I like the discipline that KTMA instills, and the professionalism of the instructors there. Administration / operations is well run too, which i appreciate as a busy working parent.
Really nice and supportive instructors who will always encourage you to do your best. Don’t be afraid if you are an adult beginner, returning to tkd after a long time, or starting to exercise regularly; the friendly coaches will help you find your pace. Shout out to Mr Goh, Mr Chong, and Mr Shah; they all have their strengths and will help you build up yours in preparation for grading and competitions. KTMA will also offer classes by visiting overseas coaches for more exposure for the students. Generally, I really enjoy my time there. They also charge reasonably for adult classes and offer opportunities for local and overseas competitions.
Had such a wonderful session trying out Taekwondo — I mean, I’m not your typical athletic type but I did it, I recently attended a trial Taekwondo class, and it was a great experience! They were very welcoming and made sure beginners like me felt comfortable from the get go. We began with a warm-up, followed by some basic kicks, stances, and simple self-defense techniques. I appreciated how the coach emphasised discipline, respect, and focus—core values of Taekwondo. The class was energetic and engaging, and even though it was my first time, I felt encouraged to challenge myself. The environment was supportive, and the other students were friendly and motivated. I left the session feeling both physically tired and mentally refreshed. Overall, it was a positive introduction to Taekwondo, and I’m definitely considering joining for regular training. Special thanks to Grace and her professional team!

KTMA Academy has not published a specific per-session rate, so it is best to contact them directly for current pricing. As a general guide, swimming and sport classes in Singapore typically range from S$30 to S$80 per session for group classes, with one-to-one coaching commanding a higher rate. Many providers structure fees as a monthly package or per term rather than strictly per individual session, which can work out more cost-effective for regular attendance. Ask about any registration or enrolment fee, whether materials or equipment are included, and whether sibling discounts or package deals are available. Many swimming and sport schools in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee or as part of the standard first-session rate. A trial gives you the chance to assess whether the teaching style, class pace, and group size are a good fit for your child before committing to a full term. During the trial, observe how the instructor engages with children of your child's age and ability level, whether the class size feels manageable, and whether your child is comfortable in the environment. Ask KTMA Academy directly whether a trial session is available and what it costs, as policies vary between providers.
Credential details for KTMA Academy's instructors are not publicly listed. For swimming instruction, relevant qualifications to ask about include Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) coaching licences, SwimSafer certification (particularly if teaching children under the national programme), and first aid or lifesaving certifications such as those issued by the Singapore Life Saving Society. For sport coaching more broadly, ask about any National Sports Association accreditation relevant to the discipline taught. It is reasonable to ask how long the instructors have been teaching, their experience with your child's age group, and whether they are familiar with the relevant syllabus or grading framework if one applies.
