About Learning Point

About Learning Point

Learning Point is a private tutoring provider operating islandwide from its centre at 301 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 574408. It holds KakiList verified status and is registered with ACRA, providing a base level of accountability. Families considering Learning Point would typically begin by enquiring about syllabus and level fit — whether the tutor covers MOE, IB, IGCSE, or other curricula — and clarifying whether sessions are conducted one-to-one or in small groups. It is worth asking about a trial class before committing to a term, confirming whether classes are held at the Upper Thomson centre or offered online, and understanding the term commitment and cancellation terms. Tutor credentials, including academic background and teaching experience, are worth verifying directly, particularly for students preparing for key national examinations.

To take the next step, reach out to Learning Point via phone or the contact form on their listing to ask about available slots for your child's level, confirm the format and schedule that suits your family, and request a trial session before signing up for a full term.

Before joining learning point, one of my initial struggles was answering comprehension questions accurately. Learning Point provides great tips and compre techniques which has helped give me a sense of direction whenever i come across compre! Through the programme, I have definitely seen improvement in terms of knowing how to answer the questions, as well as developing a stronger grasp of the fundamentals when it comes to continuous writing in a cohesive, structured manner. What makes LP so special is the learning environment! The lessons are engaging and enjoyable, and the ‘current buzz’ segment in every lesson really helped me broaden my general knowledge and strengthen content development. Continually, the class encourages students to write freely and develop their own individual voice! I also want to add that my teacher Mrs Lee Jo Ann was consistently supportive and encouraging not only academically, but also in checking in on students’ overall well-being, making learning fun and enjoyable at the same time. I think this holistic approach rlly makes LP meaningful and empowering.

My child has been with Teacher En Tong for the past year for P3 Math and we really appreciate her dedication in teaching, putting in extra time and effort to make sure the weaker students could follow up with the class. My child really enjoyed her classes. Would be better if the centre is more understanding and flexible with their terms and conditions though..

Both my children were taught by teacher En Tong, and they really enjoyed her lessons and showed clear improvement during the time with her. While my younger child did not do as well as expected, En Tong genuinely did her best and was very dedicated and supportive. The centre staff are helpful and approachable as well. I would be happy to enrol my youngest child with her again in the future and hope my last child will get the chance to learn under her one day.

Happy Teacher’s Day! As a parent, I just want to extend my deepest thanks for the care, dedication, and guidance the teachers have given to my child through the tuition sessions. The support has made a tremendous difference — not just in academics, but in my child’s overall confidence and attitude toward learning. We’ve seen the progress, the growing curiosity, and the renewed motivation, and we know that much of it is because of the teachers' patience, encouragement, and consistent effort. They’ve been more than just a tutor — they've been a mentor and a positive influence in our child’s life. Wishing you a well-deserved Happy Teacher’s Day, filled with the appreciation and respect you’ve so truly earned. Warm regards, Yang Dazhi

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Learning Point charge per session?

Learning Point is priced in the mid-range ($$) bracket, though exact per-session or monthly fees are not published in the listing — you will need to enquire directly for a current fee schedule. Tuition pricing in Singapore typically varies by the student's level (primary, secondary, JC), whether sessions are one-to-one or group-based, and the tutor's qualifications and experience. When you receive a quote, clarify whether it covers materials and workbooks separately, whether there is a registration or admin fee, and how packages or term commitments are structured. Sibling or multi-subject discounts are worth asking about if relevant. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many private tuition providers offer a trial session so that both the student and the tutor can assess compatibility before a term commitment is made. When enquiring with Learning Point, ask whether a trial class is available, what it costs, and whether that fee is credited towards the first month if you proceed. During a trial, pay attention to whether the tutor pitches explanations at the right level, how the student responds to the teaching style, and whether the content aligns with your child's current school syllabus. A single session is usually enough to judge engagement and approach. If a formal trial is not offered, a short introductory conversation between the tutor and the student before the first paid session can serve a similar purpose.

What are the tutors' credentials at Learning Point?

Credential details are not listed publicly for Learning Point, so it is important to ask directly. Relevant questions include whether tutors hold a degree in the subject they teach, whether any have NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been tutoring at each level. For students sitting national examinations such as PSLE, O Levels, or A Levels, it is also worth confirming that the tutor is familiar with the current MOE syllabus and marking scheme, as these are updated periodically. If your child follows an international curriculum such as IB or IGCSE, check that the tutor has specific experience with that programme. If Learning Point is unable to provide this information upfront, that itself is a useful data point when making your decision.
