If you are considering Lorna Whiston Schools, the practical first step is to enquire about the specific programme that matches your child's current level and target examination or admissions goal — whether that is a primary school admission exercise, DSA, PSLE preparation, secondary school entry, or an international curriculum assessment. It is worth clarifying whether classes are conducted in groups or on a one-to-one basis, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a term. Confirm the syllabus alignment (MOE, IB, IGCSE, or AP), teaching approach, and the experience of the assigned tutor. Location is at the Yio Chu Kang Road centre; ask whether any online delivery is offered if that is relevant to your schedule.
To get started, contact Lorna Whiston Schools via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to confirm current programme availability, your child's level, and whether a trial class can be arranged before term enrolment.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My son Jayven joined Lorna Whiston in early 2024 and recently left to move on to a MOE kindergarten. Although his time there was not long, it was truly meaningful and memorable for our family. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Principal Shermaine for being attentive, responsive, and prompt in addressing my concerns. She was always friendly and approachable whenever we bumped into each other, which made communication feel very reassuring as a parent. A big thank you as well to Teacher Regina, Teacher Sya, Ms Renee, Sun 老师, and Teacher Sylvia for their care and dedication. I truly appreciate how they consistently kept me updated on Jayven’s well-being and made his learning journey such a pleasant one. Jayven absolutely loves his teachers, his friends, and the school. The school’s facilities are top-notch, and the nurturing environment made it a place Jayven looked forward to every day. While it was a difficult decision to leave, we will always treasure the wonderful memories and experiences he had at Lorna Whiston. Thank you for giving Jayven such a happy and positive start to his learning journey.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey my girl has had with your school. She has truly enjoyed her years there, and I have seen remarkable growth not only in her academics but also in her character and overall development. Your dedication, commitment, and the personal attention given to each student have surpassed our expectations. The supportive and engaging learning environment you create has made a profound impact on her academic success and personal confidence. I especially appreciate the efforts put into making learning fun and memorable, including the exciting monthly/bi-monthly excursion trips! Your team's passion and unwavering dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you for all that you do. Keep up the AMAZING work Lorna Whiston GreenWich Team!
Our experience at Lorna Whiston Preschool (Greenwich) has been nothing short of wonderful. Choosing a preschool is such an important decision for any parent, and we truly feel we made the right one. The school environment is thoughtfully designed for both safety and holistic development. The grass turf flooring along the hallways may seem like a small detail, but as a parent of an energetic child who is always tumbling about, it gave me real peace of mind. The pretend-play station, including a police station, clinic, grocery store and a dress-up zone, are beautifully maintained and incredibly engaging. They foster imagination, teamwork, turn-taking and social confidence in such a natural way. The common areas are always impeccably clean, whether used for meals or activities. There is a small stage platform that builds confidence through performance, as well as an interactive STEM wall that sparks curiosity. Outdoors, the newly laid cycle track quickly became my daughter’s favourite. It was honestly difficult to get her to leave some days! The recently installed playground with slides, rock walls and suspension bridges keeps the children active and excited. Academically, the school strikes an excellent balance between structured learning and play. The strong mathematics foundation has been well maintained, and the English programme, taught by native English-speaking teachers, made a tremendous difference to my daughter’s reading, writing and speaking abilities. The speech and drama sessions and journal writing helped her grow in confidence by leaps and bounds, and the regular reading evaluations were very helpful. As a non-Chinese family who does not speak Mandarin at home, we were especially grateful for the quality of the Chinese programme. Cui Laoshi is truly exceptional! By the end of K2, my daughter was speaking simple sentences confidently. More importantly, she developed such a keen interest in the language that she asked to continue learning Chinese even though she does not take it in primary school. The enrichment programmes, Taekwondo, Sports, Arts and Music, are all conducted at an impressive standard and kept her fully engaged. Most importantly, the school has prepared her very well for Primary 1, not just academically, but emotionally and socially. She transitioned confidently into primary school with strong literacy and numeracy skills, good discipline, independence, and the confidence to participate actively in class. That solid foundation is something we deeply appreciate. What truly sets the school apart, however, is its leadership and teachers. Ms Shermaine, the Principal, consistently goes above and beyond. During my extended hospital stay due to pregnancy-related complications, my daughter was unable to attend school regularly. Ms Shermaine personally came by to pass her the worksheets she had missed. That level of care and dedication is rare, deeply meaningful to us, and something which I will never forget. Ms Xuefen, the Vice-Principal, is dynamic, proactive, incredibly supportive and very approachable. All the teachers there are incredible, but, special callout to Teacher Renee, Teacher Jocelyn, Teacher Sya, Teacher Anita, Teacher Cristina, Cui Laoshi, Sun Laoshi and Teacher Ana; They have each played a meaningful role in shaping my daughter’s early years. They are warm, responsive and genuinely invested in every child’s growth. If I could, I would give this school 8 stars out of 5. The small reasons for not giving a perfect “10/5” would because I wish they had infant care and perhaps Tamil language options in the future. I appreciate that the school explored the possibility of offering Tamil language sincerely, but did not have sufficient numbers to justify it. Overall, an exceptional preschool that is very difficult to match in Singapore. We are incredibly grateful for the strong foundation and beautiful memories it has given our daughter.
My boy is graduating from k2 in Lorna Whiston this year and I would like to sincerely thank Ms Shermaine and her team for making the entire journey a memorable experience. When we enrolled/transferred our boy, who was diagnosed with speech delay and deemed having social issues by his previous pre-school, we were filled with hope but also with the anxieties that any parent in our situation would understand. Ms Shermaine and her team provided that and so much more. Their incredible patience and truly nurturing environment created a safe space where he felt understood. And then, the words began to come—first a few (simple bye bye and hello) and then more. As of today, he is one of the most out spoken and talkative boy! To all the teachers that has taught him across these years, and Ms Shermaine and the entire team at Lorna Whiston, we can never fully express our gratitude. The care and loving culture makes this school a truly special place and we recommend it with our whole hearts to any family.
I am very grateful to the principals ms shermaine and teachers for their careful teaching and care. Since the master class, my daughter has been very fond of it and looks forward to it. The school also regularly shares the children's growth records in school. The school environment is also clean and comfortable.

Many established enrichment and tuition providers in Singapore offer a paid or discounted trial class before requiring term enrolment. It is worth contacting Lorna Whiston Schools directly to confirm whether a trial session is available for the specific programme you are interested in, and what the trial fee is if one applies. When attending a trial class, assess whether the pace and difficulty level match your child's current ability, whether the teaching style engages your child, and whether the class size allows for enough individual attention. These factors matter as much as the provider's brand name when choosing test prep support. If a trial is not offered, ask whether you can observe a session or speak with the assigned tutor before committing to a full term.
Credential details for tutors at Lorna Whiston Schools are not publicly listed in the available information. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether tutors have an NIE or MOE teaching background, their degree discipline, and their years of experience teaching the specific examination or admissions track your child is preparing for. For test prep and admissions programmes in Singapore, syllabus alignment is particularly important — confirm whether the tutor is current with the latest MOE syllabus requirements, DSA portfolio expectations, or the relevant international curriculum assessment format. If specific tutor credentials are not confirmed during the enquiry, ask to be matched with a tutor whose background fits your child's target examination before committing to a term.
