About Mathlete Training Centre

About Mathlete Training Centre

Mathlete Training Centre is an education provider based in Bishan, offering test preparation and admissions coaching with islandwide reach. The centre has been listed and verified on KakiList, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It holds a 3.2-star rating across 15 Google reviews; as this is a small sample, the rating should be treated as directional only. Pricing is positioned at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific fees are not publicly listed.

Families exploring Mathlete Training Centre should begin by enquiring about syllabus alignment — whether the focus is PSLE, DSA, secondary school admissions, or a specific examination — and confirming whether tuition is offered in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Asking about the teaching team's backgrounds and their familiarity with the relevant admissions processes is worthwhile before committing. Most test-prep providers offer a trial class or assessment session, which allows parents and students to gauge level appropriateness and teaching style before signing up for a full term. Confirm whether materials are included in the fees and whether classes are conducted in-person at the Bishan centre or available online.

To take the next step, contact Mathlete Training Centre directly via phone or the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current availability, session fees, and whether a trial class can be arranged for your child's target examination.

Our experience did not meet expectations. Key details regarding recording access limits were not clearly communicated at the start despite full course fees being paid. The course structure changed, with lessons shifted to uploaded videos and access tied to fixed deadlines. When we chose to terminate, recording access was shortened without prior notice. The overall handling lacked transparency and consistency.

Easily the worst math teacher I have seen in my life. The intention is just get you to pay for the tuition fee and when want to withdraw, refuse to refund although during sign up had a different story. Avoid this like you avoid a person coughing during the height of the covid delta period.

Went there for an interview, easily the worst experience I have had. Place is located at an underground bomb shelter, lots of construction around. When I got there there was no one, I rang the doorbell but it didnt seem to work. Knocked but still no one. After about 10min someone finally came up. At this point I was already wary of the place. For the actual interview, the interviewer was extremely unprepared and did not know anything about me though I had submitted my resume prior to the interview. Interviewer was clearly not prepared and sat there keeping quiet majority of the time. I did most of the talking and clarifying the details of the job. All of a sudden the interviewer asked me to teach a lesson. I was not informed of this beforehand and was completely unprepared but regardless I went ahead with it spontaneously. Anyway to conclude the interview, the interviewer proposed a salary that was approximately $500 lower than the stated range. Honestly given all the red flags, the only reason why I was still interested was because I thought the salary range stated in the job portal was decent at $4.2-$5.2k. I was horrified when the interviewer offered $3k+ only so future teachers please beware. I personally would not recommend even attending the interview, dont waste your time. For parents thinking about sending your kids there, syllabus taught is way above the level in school, about 3-5 grades above. If your child is advanced and already has background knowledge for higher levels then you can consider, if not dont, because your child will struggle a lot. Teachers at the centre are not MOE trained which is ok, but what I was surprised by is that they arent familiar with school syllabus at all, based on my experience, so do beware of that. All in all I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the place and 100% will not recommend anyone to go there. If there was a 0 star option I would give that.

Been sending my child to the mathlete training centre for 3 years and the result was very good and the training centre was actually pretty famous as many people send their children here. I would recommend your child here but of course ,don’t pressure your child.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Mathlete Training Centre charge per session?

Mathlete Training Centre displays a mid-range ($$) pricing tier but does not publicly list specific session fees. In the Singapore market, test preparation and admissions coaching typically runs S$60–120 per session for group classes and S$100–200 or more for one-to-one tuition, depending on the tutor's experience and the examination level. Ask the centre whether fees are charged per session, as a monthly package, or on a per-term basis. Clarify whether a separate materials fee applies and whether any sibling or package discounts are available. A trial class may be offered at a reduced rate or at full price — confirm this before your first visit. See the full Test Prep & Admissions cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many test preparation centres in Singapore offer a trial class so students and parents can assess fit before committing to a full term or package. A trial session typically costs the same as a standard session, though some centres offer a discounted first class. During the trial, observe whether the pace and level match your child's current standing, whether the teaching style encourages active participation, and whether the content is closely aligned to the specific examination or admissions process you are targeting. It is also worth asking how the class structure compares to what your child will experience week to week. Contact Mathlete Training Centre directly to confirm their trial class policy and to book an initial session.

What are the tutors' credentials at Mathlete Training Centre?

Mathlete Training Centre's tutor credentials and teaching backgrounds are not publicly listed at this time. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether tutors hold NIE or MOE teaching experience, relevant university qualifications, or specialist knowledge of the specific test or admissions process your child is preparing for — such as PSLE, DSA portfolios, or secondary school entrance assessments. Also ask how long individual tutors have been coaching for the relevant examination, and whether the same tutor remains with a student throughout the course or whether classes rotate. Consistency and familiarity with the marking criteria of the target examination are important factors in test preparation. If credentials cannot be confirmed through the listing, contact the centre directly via phone or the enquiry form to ask before committing.
