We met a few IDs during a Qanvast hangout and decided to engage Zac from Mr Designer Studio for our new BTO flat renovation after comparing their quotations. The Reno works were recently completed within timeframe with all defects touched up and rectifications done. Zac was attentive to our needs and transformed them to 3D drawings. He provided great suggestions and ideas on designs and selection of color scheme, materials and lighting. Throughout the whole process, Zac was always contactable. He addressed all our concerns and queries patiently, and always open to feedback which we truly appreciated. When any issues arose, he was responsible and followed up quickly to resolve them. We are very satisfied with the end result and thankful to Zac and the team of contractors for their works and efforts. We would highly recommend Zac to anyone looking for a reliable interior designer.

We met up with a few IDs and decided to go with Avril which was our best decision made. Avril is friendly, super detailed, quick, provides lots of suggestions and ideas, has great project coordination and management skill and has great relationship with the contractors she works with. We didn’t have to chase her for anything as she gets everything done before we even need to ask her about it. She accommodates very well with all our requests and provides us with frequent updates on our reno progress. It was such a relaxing journey for us new homeowners and I have nothing but full of praise for her. The best part is her 3D drawing and the actual output is almost exactly the same, which we are super happy about. Thank you so much Avril :) The contractors they use are top tier, especially for carpentry and tiling. We couldn’t find a single defect for our cabinets and the formaldehyde level is low as confirmed by our post reno cleaning contractor. We would like to say a big thank you to all staff who had participated in our Reno works. :) Would love to use back mr designer studio and engage Avril for any future renovations. Highly recommended!

Renovation nightmare. Engage at your own risk. ID 1: Timothy, ID 2: Ocean Engaged Timothy in Jul 25, handed keys to him on 2 Nov 25 due to completion delay. I emphasised on timeline to him as I am renting and had to move into the new place by year end. My house is only a 2 bedder and he claimed that he could finish in a month’s time confidently. However, no planning was done between engagement and keys handover. I had to initiate a discussion in Sep 25. Probably prioritised lowly since my reno value is only around $50k. 1. Every timeline promised was missed/late. He was consistently late for off site meetups as well. 2. Had to keep chasing for renderings which had revisions as comments were always not taken up. Obviously the ID did not check before sending to me. I did not ask for change in colours/laminates after deciding. The changes were due to mistakes made by the ID/drawer. 3. Timothy brought me to Casa and Maison (which is overpriced by the way) to select accessories without checking site measurements. Bought unnecessary accessories like hanging fan, shower baskets and a water heater that could not fit. These were returned eventually after weeks. No news of refund as of now. 4. Timothy then disappeared and ghosted me for almost 2 weeks with barely any work progress. After flaring up at him via whatsapp, I was told by the second ID that he has personal issues. Poor professionalism on both Timothy and the firm. Zero apologies from Timothy. 5. 2nd ID Ocean, took over with no handovers, restarted the whole reno process. Wasting time. This was already end Nov 25. 6. Ocean did move the progress along but speed was not up to expectations. Honestly, Ocean also made his fair share of mistakes but at least he tried to rectify them. His problem is his selection and managing of subcons and probably not registering instructions although I have repeated many times in whatsapp. In the end, I had to do my own outstanding list to track the works which were only followed up days or weeks later if they are even followed up. Why am I doing the tracking work when I paid for an ID who is supposed to be the project manager?? 7. Both IDs did not measure site correctly and certain changes to carpentry had to be made along the way since the original proposed and agreed design could not fit. 8. ID/contractor did not take stock of accessories when Casa sent them. I had to reconcile the lights for them to find out that the balcony light was not delivered and we missed out in buying lights for the toilets. The holes are also poorly drilled for the toilet lights. 9. Quality of carpentry is sub par. Unfinished edges, doors that cannot close properly, dents at random areas. I had to give up on changing my DB box door as a result of their poor communication. Also, you do not get shelvings for lower cabinets in the kitchen unless you chase the ID/carpenter for them. Carpenter’s name is Uniwood based on their sign in. 10. Chemical cleaning also caused stains on the toilet accessories. ID claimed that they will change or try to wipe off but made zero effort to come over to even act on it. The toilet hanging bar and bidet cost $168 and $88 from Casa. 11. Tiles had cement stains too. Again ID said will come and clean but did not. 12. Random spot near the aircon left unpainted because painter cannot reach it. Joke. 13. Water heater leaked after I moved in for 2 days. I had a raining light and ceiling was left unsealed for a week. Eventually I had to call my own contractor to fix it because the IDs always communicated that their subcon will come/on their way but NEVER turned up. I have wasted many annual leaves for their no show. 14. Obviously the reno was delayed and I had to temporarily move elsewhere for 3 weeks since I could not extend my rental. I have pets too which added to the inconvenience. Had to move my stuff to the house first and everything was dusty and dirty. Had to throw away my chair and washer because they were too dirty. TV screen also cracked probably from the moving around while the contractors did their work.

We engaged Kent from Mr Designer Studio for our new flat. Being first time owners, we really needed someone experienced to help us with the renovation process. Kent was able to see us through the entire process with minimal hiccups, guiding us through each step patiently. He was very responsive and responsible with arranging for any touch ups and rectifications towards the end, and was punctual with the handover date. I would highly recommend any home owners looking for a reliable interior designer to engage his services.

We are very satisfied with Lily’s performance. From the beginning, she listened to what we wanted, created the designs, and delivered exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a modern luxury or luxury Scandinavian theme, and the results turned out exactly as promised. We also mentioned from the start that we could only do a 6–8 week renovation, and everything was indeed completed within that timeframe. Whenever there were any design details that were incorrect by the carpenter, Lily immediately corrected them very quickly and all fixed well. Every time we had questions, she always answered patiently and in detail. Once again, we highly recommend Lily as an interior designer because of her responsiveness, responsibility, and willingness to understand what her clients want :))
