About My Family Clinic Segar

About My Family Clinic Segar

My Family Clinic Segar is a GP clinic located at 508 Segar Road, serving residents in the Bukit Panjang and surrounding areas. KakiList has verified the clinic's operating details and contact channels. The Google rating of 2.1 out of 5 across 60 reviews is a moderate sample size and warrants attention — prospective patients are encouraged to read the reviews in full before booking.

For most GP visits, patients can walk in directly without a referral. A standard consultation covers assessment of acute conditions, prescription, and basic investigations where indicated. If a chronic condition is being managed — such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidaemia — the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) allows MediSave withdrawals of up to S$700 per year for eligible outpatient treatment at enrolled CHAS clinics. Patients holding CHAS cards (Blue, Orange, or Green) should confirm at registration whether this clinic participates in the CHAS scheme, as subsidy rates and eligible conditions vary by card tier. For conditions requiring specialist input, a GP referral letter can facilitate a subsidised Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOC) appointment at a public hospital, which is typically more cost-effective than a direct private specialist walk-in.

To make an appointment or check current waiting times, contact My Family Clinic Segar by phone or through the enquiry form listed on this page.

I just moved into the neighbourhood not long ago, and was unwell a couple of weeks back. I’m surprised to see the low ratings as I thought my experience was pretty good. Registration was quick and straightforward, I got my queue number, and proceeded to wait for my turn. Upon seeing Dr Wong, the consult was quick, efficient and to-the-point. I was feeling unwell and had wanted to quickly round up my appointment and go home to rest. He asked appropriate questions and prescribed me with medicine accordingly. Thereafter, less than 5 minutes and I was able to make my payment and collect my medicine. I’ve since recovered, and would definitely come back for my medical needs.

The receptionists should improved more on their service skill ,due to their negligence part they undercharge me a small amount of money. Even though i was busy with work, they keep calling non stop is not like i wont pay , already a month then u let me know u should let me know earlier, or politely leave a message.

I just moved nearby but each time i come to this clinic, i always find their reception staff very unwelcoming. Instead of greeting you, they’ll ask you dryly “what happened to you today?!” There’s no warmness or even just customer service on their side. Being a healthcare worker myself, i dont think this is the standard you should be giving your patients.

Went to see the doctor for diarrhoea and was given only 1 day MC so i requested for 2 days but was rejected by both the doctor and nurses there. The nurse then proceeded to tell me that i will not have to pay if i come back the next day to extend my MC but i had to pay another 40$ (w/o subsidies) and was given even more medication for symptoms that i did not have. TLDR: The clinic is money hungry and its not really about the patients but more about the money. The doctor is very rude as he stared at me with a condescending look after i greeted him and remained silent for a good amount of time without asking me what i was there for.

Dr Wong is impatient and assumes your symptoms are due to your own actions. I went in for migraine, twice and both times I had a nose bleed. He ignored this symptom and only when I asked about it again, did he check and assumed that it's bc I stuck my finger in my nose. After the consultation, he didn't even end it with a "okay just wait outside", he just kept quiet and expected me to up and leave. Nonsense. So if something happens and I go to A&E, can I make a complaint for malpractice by saying Dr Wong ignored my symptoms?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does My Family Clinic Segar charge?

GP consultation fees at private and CHAS-enrolled clinics in Singapore typically range from S$25 to S$60 for a standard visit, with CHAS subsidies reducing out-of-pocket costs for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs. Fees billed on top of the consultation may include medications, basic investigations (e.g. urine dipstick, blood glucose), and any dressings or minor procedures. For chronic disease management under the CDMP, MediSave can be used to offset outpatient bills up to S$700 per year at enrolled clinics. Any planned investigation or referral should come with a clear cost estimate before you commit. Contact the clinic directly for their current fee schedule, as prices are not publicly listed. Is My Family Clinic Segar MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No regulatory licences are currently listed for My Family Clinic Segar on this KakiList profile. Every legitimate GP clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — this is verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also be on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can search by name to confirm registration status and any disciplinary history. Prospective patients are strongly advised to verify both the clinic licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration before booking. The absence of licence information in this listing is a gap — confirm directly with the clinic or cross-check the MOH and SMC public directories.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at My Family Clinic Segar?

MediSave can be used for outpatient GP visits under two main pathways. The general MediSave 500 withdrawal limit covers up to S$500 per year for selected outpatient treatments at approved clinics. Under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), the limit rises to S$700 per year for listed chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, COPD, stroke, and selected mental health conditions — confirm with the clinic whether they are CDMP-enrolled. For patients with Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life, standard GP outpatient visits are generally not covered under IP policies, which are structured for inpatient and day-surgery claims. If you are referred for a specialist consultation or day procedure, pre-authorise with your insurer and request a written financial counselling estimate before proceeding, so you understand the split between insurance payout, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions.
