About My Family Clinic Senja
My Family Clinic Senja is a general practice clinic located at Blk 628 Senja Road, #01-04 Senja Grande, Singapore 670628, serving the Bukit Panjang and Senja area. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channel. The clinic holds a 2.9/5 rating across 41 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, though the below-average score warrants attention before booking. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council registration details have been provided to KakiList, so prospective patients are advised to verify these directly with the clinic or via the MOH licensee directory and the SMC public register before attending.
For a first visit, patients may contact the clinic by phone or through the enquiry form to confirm consultation hours, current waiting times, and whether the presenting condition falls within the clinic's scope. GP services typically cover acute illness, minor injuries, vaccinations, chronic disease management under the CDMP (covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders), and referrals to specialist outpatient clinics. Confirm whether the clinic is a CHAS-approved provider, as this determines subsidy eligibility for Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, and eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs for both acute and chronic conditions.
To proceed, call the clinic or submit an enquiry via the online form to confirm opening hours and appointment availability before making your way down.
Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
The very plump male doctor from Malaysia, Dr Tiew Meng Hwa, whom I saw on Mar 7th night was extremely rude, flaky, capricious, catty and spiteful—even when unprovoked. He wrongly insisted on his own view, even imperiously raised his voice and threw a hissy fit when as the patient I was merely informing him of my symptom which for some unknown reason he had very strangely and insistently refused to accept. Such authoritarian attitude is an anomaly among doctors in developed nations like Singapore. It's ridiculous—why would I be wrong or lie to him about my own symptom? What was even there for him to argue with the patient about? Without any check, he insisted there was no phlegm in my throat when very viscous phlegm was very persistently stuck in my throat earlier in the day. In the end he prescribed medication to clear my phlegm which meant earlier he was just throwing a tantrum—acting out like an immature Diva—to provoke his patient only. The best part? He repeatedly pretended not to hear and refused to answer my direct and pertinent questions regarding my blood pressure reading, kept on deflecting my questions to chat with my mother, regurgitating in a very deliberately slow and long-winded manner basic medical info I have long already known from goggling, wasting everyone's time, then again very imperiously and rudely accused me of not paying attention or listening to him, even glibly lied that he was going to answer my questions soon, but without ever answering them in the end! Playing gaslighting word games with his patient, he seemed unconfident of his medical knowledge. His degree of passive aggression was off the charts and very abnormal. His attitude problem was also extremely unprofessional. He instructed me not to talk when taking blood pressure to ensure accuracy, then immediately contradicted himself by proceeding to ask me 4 to 5 questions in rapid succession while the blood pressure machine was inflating my cuff and measuring my blood pressure. Such glaring inconsistency in protocol! He could easily have waited a minute for the blood pressure test to be completed before proceeding to ask those questions. Such inconsistent action from a doctor only demonstrated his unprofessionalism and lack of impulse control as a human. Also if I hadn't repeatedly questioned the accuracy of his blood pressure monitor, he wouldn't have admitted it actually undermeasured and under-reported blood pressure due to the looseness and "large size" of its cuff—that he "explained" was meant to accommodate very thick arms. But why then he still needed to ask me to press down on the velcro with my other hand while the cuff was inflating to prevent the velcro fastener from bursting open? If the "cuff size" was indeed really meant for arms much thicker than my normal-sized arm that the readings would skew lower—why would the velcro still be that prone to bursting open? That didn't make any sense at all. Like I said earlier, this doctor was extremely flaky, capricious, floundering and unreliable. Many patients without their own blood pressure monitors at home must have been very happily deceived by his inaccurate under-reporting of blood pressure—that must have also definitely failed to detect many real cases of hypertension among them—giving false optimism to his patients and endangering their lives. On his web profile his motto was quoted as "prevention is better than cure"—this is so ironic and laughable now. Who knows, he might have been using this same cuff to measure and monitor his own blood pressure for the longest time, thus had loosened and damaged the cuff's velcro with his super fat arms during its numerous repeated inflating process—and is now happily and irresponsibly deluding BOTH himself and his patients about their falsely lower blood pressure. A doctor who is unable to even take care of his own health first is definitely UNFIT to take care of his patients' health. A doctor who had learned his patient has hypertension—and yet still intentionally and continuously provoked him—is UNETHICAL and inhumane.
Horrible and unempathetic. Sent my helper for 6ME but she was humilated because she could not understand counter staff. The day before was monday and queue is too long thus we only get to clinic on actual deadline day. Evenutally after screaming at my helper, counter staff gave up and call me to ask stupid question if i want to proceed with the mom medical checkup. If i do not want to check up why do i sent helper there. Are you trying to make life hard for everyone and try to bully everyone. Writing this because there is unlikely any better channel to feedback. A clinic ultimately is a service provider that include good service from counter staff to delicated and competent doctor. I have no comments on the doctor competency as i seen the male doctor and he shows dedication to his work. To the counter staff, everyone is human, please show respect to every fellow living being. Even if you have a bad day, it does not means shouting at someone else whose is nt fortunate as us singaporean with good command of english. I believe that good deeds reap reward and vice visa. Shame on you. A good person do not try hard to make life unpleasant for others as much as possible and exploit any opening and others weakness to be unpleasant.
Friendly nurses and doctors! Doctor helped to refer me to NTTH. Came at around 6plus only had to wait for 2 patients before me.
Dr Tiew is one of the best family doctor I've ever come across. He always listens attentively to patients' symptoms (does not rush his patients at all), explains his diagnosis clearly and discuss treatment options with patients. A dr who involve patient in treatment plan is hard to come by. The only thing is you will have to wait for quite a while to see him as he spends more time to see patient, so better to register online using heyally app first b4 heading to the clinic. I really hope Dr Tiew will continue to stay in this clinic for a long long time. :) Besides, the nurses in the clinic are also very approachable, helpful and full of compassion. They deserve 5stars rating too. :)
Went at 11.20am on a Saturday morning. Was turned away as counter staff said there were "too many people" in the queue and she has closed registration. I asked what time they were supposed to close the queue registration and counter staff said 11.30am which means there was a 10mins grace period. When asked how many people were there actually in the queue, turns out there were only 3! Please educate and monitor your staff and ensure they're not "lazy" by closing queue before the stated time. Never going back. Thankfully the new clinic at Senja 643 was open.

GP consultation fees at private and CHAS-registered family clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit before subsidies, with follow-up visits generally lower. Investigations billed on top include blood panels (S$60–200), urine tests (S$15–40), X-rays (S$80–150), and swab tests. Prescriptions are billed separately. GST applies on private medical services. If the clinic participates in the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS), eligible Singapore Citizens can receive subsidies of S$18.50–S$54.50 per acute visit and S$30–S$80 per chronic-condition visit, depending on the CHAS tier. Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation cardholders receive higher subsidy levels. Confirm CHAS participation directly with the clinic before your visit, as not all GP clinics are enrolled. No specific fee information has been provided to KakiList — contact the clinic for the current rate card. See the full GP clinic cost guide for Singapore →
Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), searchable by name at smc.gov.sg, which confirms registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. My Family Clinic Senja has not provided licence or SMC registration details to KakiList, so patients should verify both independently before attending. The 2.9/5 rating across 41 Google reviews is a moderate sample but sits below the typical range for well-regarded GP clinics in Singapore — reading recent reviews for recurring themes (waiting times, consultation thoroughness, prescription practices) is worthwhile before booking. Verify the doctor's name on the SMC register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
MediSave can be used for selected outpatient consultations under the MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits — S$500 per year for general outpatient use and S$700 per year for chronic conditions covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which includes hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, COPD, stroke, and selected mental health conditions. Confirm whether the clinic is a CDMP-approved provider, as this is required to trigger the higher S$700 limit for chronic disease follow-ups. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally do not cover GP outpatient consultations but may cover day surgery or inpatient admissions if a referral arises from the GP visit. CHAS subsidies apply at point of billing if the clinic is enrolled and the patient holds a valid CHAS card — the clinic swipes the card and the subsidy is deducted directly. Contact the clinic directly to confirm CDMP participation, MediSave billing capability, and CHAS enrolment status before your visit to avoid unexpected out-of-pocket costs.
