When enquiring with NannySOS, it is advisable to confirm the intended start date and the age of your child, as availability for nanny or babysitter placements can vary. Ask about the caregiver's experience, any background screening or vetting process the agency uses, and whether a meet-and-greet or trial arrangement is available before a commitment is made. Also clarify the hours required — whether you need full-day, part-day, or ad hoc babysitting — and discuss any specific care needs your child may have. Families with Singapore citizen children should enquire separately with ECDA about whether any applicable subsidies apply to their arrangement.
To get started, reach out to NannySOS directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form on their listing. We were incredibly fortunate to have Auntie Lilian join us right after we returned from the hospital. That first week was one of the most physically and emotionally exhausting times for us — we were running on very little sleep, still recovering from the delivery, and adjusting to our newborn’s needs. From the moment she arrived, Auntie Lilian brought calm, competence, and composure into our home. She took care of both baby and mummy with such skill and thoughtfulness. Her gentle, reassuring manner immediately put us at ease. She handled every feeding, diaper change, and bath with confidence, always keeping baby clean, comfortable, and content. For my wife, she made sure I had nutritious confinement meals, herbal soups, and ample rest — all while keeping a tidy kitchen. What truly stood out was her attentiveness and initiative. We never had to ask twice — she anticipated our needs before we even realized them. She was also generous in sharing her knowledge, teaching us how to handle and soothe our baby after we had recovered from the first week's fatigue, and giving us the confidence to manage things on our own. Thanks to Auntie Lilian, we were able to focus on recovery and bonding as a family, instead of worrying about the endless details of newborn care. Her warmth, professionalism, and dedication made an immense difference in our postpartum journey. We can’t thank her enough — she’s truly a gem, and any family would be lucky to have her!
We were lucky to have Aunty Agnes with us for five weeks, and we honestly can’t imagine going through our confinement without her. She is everything we could have hoped for in a nanny: loving, knowledgeable, and very professional. Despite her wealth of experience, she never assumes or imposes. She always checks in with us, whether it’s about our meals, our routines, or how we’d like to handle the baby. When we’re unsure, she gently guides and teaches us, never once making us feel small for not knowing. She takes her work very seriously and always balances between giving advice and respecting our ways. That balance is rare, and we trust her completely. Our baby was quite colicky and had mild jaundice in the first week. Aunty Agnes took such good care, tending to every feed even in the middle of the night. Because of her attention, the jaundice cleared within that first week, as confirmed at our doctor’s visit. Her patience and intuition with the baby gave us peace of mind and allowed us to rest. On the confinement front, she’s incredibly knowledgeable. She has a mental calendar of when and how to introduce each tonic or dish so that recovery happens steadily and safely. It’s not just about herbs, it’s about understanding the body’s rhythm. Her cooking is delicious and suited to our preference for lighter meals, yet still nourishing and full of variety. She works efficiently, keeps everything clean, and is always on top of baby’s laundry. What we’ll remember most is her warmth. She chats with us, supports mommy emotionally, teaches both of us how to shower and care for the baby, and even prepares us for life after she leaves. We already miss her so much writing this. We would highly recommend Aunty Agnes to any family looking for a confinement nanny. Just one reminder, she’s here to look after mommy and baby, not to be a household helper. If you show her care and offer to help lighten her load, you’ll find she gives her best in return. When you work with her as a team, you’ll see what a blessing she truly is. Thank you, Aunty Agnes, for taking such good care of our family. You’ll always be part of our baby’s first chapter. We wish Aunty Agnes good health and success, and we will keep in touch.
This is our 2nd time engaging Aunty Candy to take care of us during confinement. We would like to thank Aunty Candy for taking really good care of us, our baby even our firstborn for the confinement period. Aunty Candy's cooking has always been so good, I really enjoyed all the food she cooked for us. The dishes were never repeated and were catered to our liking. My firstborn loved her cooking so much and even asked me to learn her recipes. We are also very grateful for how she took good care of us during this period as we were very busy tending to our firstborn. We really recommend NannySOS and Aunty Candy.
This is our second time engaging the same nanny and she took care of the baby and our family very well once again. We enjoyed all the meals she cooked and appreciate her help in caring for the infant’s needs, as well as taking care of the household. We highly recommend her 👍🏼
Aunty Lilian is amazing! She’s very caring and took great care of both me and my newborn. With her rich experience, she patiently taught us baby care skills and slowly got us involved so we gained confidence as new parents. Her 月子餐 is also delicious and nutritious — sometimes she even cooked for the whole family! She’s proactive, easy-going, and truly treats us like family. We’re so thankful for her help and highly recommend her to any new parents!

NannySOS has not published a specific monthly rate, so you will need to contact them directly for a quote based on your required hours and the type of care needed. When reviewing any quote, check whether it includes a registration or placement fee and whether a deposit is required upfront — a deposit of one to two months is common in Singapore for nanny placements. Also clarify what is and is not included: uniforms, insurance coverage for the caregiver, and any additional charges for public holidays or overtime should all be confirmed in writing before you proceed. Childcare fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so no GST should be applied to the base fee. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →
Government childcare subsidies in Singapore apply to licensed ECDA-registered centres and are not typically available for private nanny or babysitter arrangements. If NannySOS operates or partners with an ECDA-licensed centre, Basic Subsidy of up to S$600 per month for infant care or S$300 per month for childcare may apply to eligible Singapore citizen children. An additional Working Mother's Subsidy is available where the mother works 56 or more hours per month, and income-tested Additional Subsidy may bring total combined support higher still. Permanent residents may be eligible for partial subsidies. Subsidy amounts and eligibility criteria are updated periodically, so confirm the current figures directly with ECDA at www.ecda.gov.sg before making any financial assumptions. Ask NannySOS at the point of enquiry whether their service qualifies for any subsidy scheme.
NannySOS has not published information on current availability, so it is best to contact them directly to ask about openings for your required dates and care type. For nanny and babysitter placements in Singapore, demand can be high, particularly for infant care and for arrangements starting in January, which is the peak intake period. As a general guide, families seeking a nanny for a newborn are advised to begin enquiring at least three to six months before the expected start date. To secure a placement, some agencies require payment of a registration or deposit fee, so confirm the exact process with NannySOS before transferring any funds. Reaching out via WhatsApp or phone is likely to yield the fastest response on current availability.
