About Nanyang Academics
Nanyang Academics is a private tutoring provider operating islandwide across Singapore, listed at the mid-range price tier ($$) on KakiList. The provider is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It holds a Google rating of 3.2 out of 5, though this is based on only 16 reviews, so that figure should be treated as directional rather than conclusive.
Families looking to engage Nanyang Academics would typically begin by enquiring about syllabus and level fit — whether the need is for primary, secondary, or pre-university work, and whether the relevant syllabus is MOE, IGCSE, IB, or another framework. It is worth clarifying upfront whether sessions are conducted one-to-one or in a small group, as this affects both pace and pricing. Parents should also confirm whether tuition takes place at the Sin Ming Lane centre, at the student's home, or online, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a term arrangement.
To take the next step, reach out to Nanyang Academics via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to confirm current availability for your child's level and subject, ask about a trial session, and request a clear breakdown of fees and the commitment structure before signing up.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Based on my experience: Slow and Defensive Reached out with basic questions. Took weeks to get replies. The communication felt defensive and unprofessional when I asked about simple question like does tutor provide learning notes.. They also don’t allow parents to speak to tutors directly before signing up. Because of this, I decided not to proceed. Other parents should be cautious.
Do not engage tutors from them! Bad experience with the tutor they recommended. Not qualified as they claimed. Tried another tutor and also bad. Won’t recommend them. In the end I engaged the tutor from minded. so much better!
Resourceful tuition agency with many experienced tutors. A big thank you to Ethan for helping me to find suitable tutors for my children. They were very patient with my children and their grades improved a lot.
Thanks to Ethan from Nanyang Academics Tutors. The tuition teachers Ethan had recommended are great. All the tuition teachers are very motivating. My boy just got the o level results and have 4 As in all the subjects tutored by these tutors. Especially Chemistry tutor, she pulled my boy from fail to A1 in Chemistry. This is amazing! Good tutors who are motivating and encouraging are hard to find, and we are fortunate. Thank you!
Had tried to engage a tutor from this agent . Is very ineffective and full of hidden agenda . Refused to release contact number to the parents in advance . As parents , we are unable to communicate with tutors till that day itself when the tutor arrives. This agent Ethan tends to lie . Therefore , how to trust him as middle man to convey the message across to him then to the tutor . Parents please be caution when using his service unless he allows numbers to exchange before the start of the class. No issues with other agency except his agent .

Nanyang Academics is listed at the mid-range price tier ($$), but a precise per-session or monthly rate is not publicly displayed. Private tutors in Singapore typically charge on a per-session basis, though some offer monthly packages or term-based commitments at a slight discount. You should also ask whether a trial class is available and whether there is a separate fee for it, and confirm if there are any additional costs for materials or workbooks. Sibling discounts or package deals for multiple subjects are worth enquiring about if you have more than one child or need tuition across several topics. Many private tutoring providers in Singapore offer a trial session — sometimes at a reduced rate or occasionally complimentary — before parents commit to an ongoing arrangement. A trial class gives you a chance to gauge whether the teaching style suits your child, whether the pace and level are appropriate, and whether your child feels comfortable with the tutor. When attending a trial, observe how the tutor explains concepts, whether they adapt to your child's responses, and how engaged your child is throughout. It is reasonable to ask Nanyang Academics directly whether a trial is available and what, if anything, it costs before booking.
Credential details for Nanyang Academics are not publicly listed, so it is not possible to confirm NIE or MOE teaching backgrounds, degree qualifications, or years of classroom or tutoring experience from the listing alone. These are important factors when choosing a tutor, particularly for high-stakes examinations such as PSLE, O-Levels, or A-Levels. Before committing to a term, ask Nanyang Academics directly about the qualifications of the specific tutor who will be assigned to your child, their familiarity with the relevant syllabus (MOE, IGCSE, IB, or otherwise), and how long they have been teaching the subject. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
