About Nanyang Learning

About "Nanyang Learning"

Nanyang Learning is a private tuition provider operating islandwide from its centre at Midview City, Sin Ming Lane. It is KakiList verified and ACRA registered, providing a baseline level of accountability. Its Google rating of 3.2 out of 5 is based on 16 reviews — too small a sample to draw firm conclusions, so treat it as directional only. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier.

When enquiring, it is worth clarifying which level and syllabus the tutor covers — whether that is PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IP, IB, or IGCSE — to confirm the fit with your child's current school programme. Ask whether sessions are conducted one-to-one or in a small group, as this affects both the pace of instruction and the fee structure. Find out whether a trial class is available before committing to a term, and check whether lessons are held at the Sin Ming centre or at the student's home, or offered online. Confirm the term commitment and the policy on make-up sessions for absences.

The most direct next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about available slots for your child's level, request a trial class, and confirm the tutor's qualifications and syllabus alignment before signing up for a full term.

Based on my experience: Slow and Defensive Reached out with basic questions. Took weeks to get replies. The communication felt defensive and unprofessional when I asked about simple question like does tutor provide learning notes.. They also don’t allow parents to speak to tutors directly before signing up. Because of this, I decided not to proceed. Other parents should be cautious.

Do not engage tutors from them! Bad experience with the tutor they recommended. Not qualified as they claimed. Tried another tutor and also bad. Won’t recommend them. In the end I engaged the tutor from minded. so much better!

Resourceful tuition agency with many experienced tutors. A big thank you to Ethan for helping me to find suitable tutors for my children. They were very patient with my children and their grades improved a lot.

Thanks to Ethan from Nanyang Academics Tutors. The tuition teachers Ethan had recommended are great. All the tuition teachers are very motivating. My boy just got the o level results and have 4 As in all the subjects tutored by these tutors. Especially Chemistry tutor, she pulled my boy from fail to A1 in Chemistry. This is amazing! Good tutors who are motivating and encouraging are hard to find, and we are fortunate. Thank you!

Had tried to engage a tutor from this agent . Is very ineffective and full of hidden agenda . Refused to release contact number to the parents in advance . As parents , we are unable to communicate with tutors till that day itself when the tutor arrives. This agent Ethan tends to lie . Therefore , how to trust him as middle man to convey the message across to him then to the tutor . Parents please be caution when using his service unless he allows numbers to exchange before the start of the class. No issues with other agency except his agent .

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Nanyang Learning" charge per session?

Nanyang Learning's pricing is shown at the mid-range tier, though a specific per-session or monthly rate has not been published. Tuition fees in Singapore typically vary by level (primary, secondary, JC), format (one-to-one versus group), and whether the tutor is a part-time graduate, full-time tutor, or ex-MOE teacher. Ask whether fees are quoted per session, as a monthly package, or on a per-term basis, and confirm whether a trial class carries a separate fee or is counted towards the first month. Also check for any materials charges and whether sibling discounts apply if you are enrolling more than one child. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class — either free or at a reduced rate — before you commit to a term or monthly package. Contact Nanyang Learning directly to ask whether a trial session is available and what it costs. When attending the trial, pay attention to whether the pace and level match your child's current school work, how the tutor handles questions, and whether your child is engaged rather than passive. A single session is usually enough to judge teaching style and rapport. If the fit feels off, it is reasonable to try a different tutor before committing to a longer arrangement.

What are the tutor's credentials?

Nanyang Learning's listing does not specify individual tutor qualifications, so it is important to ask directly. Key questions include whether the tutor holds a degree relevant to the subject, whether they have NIE teacher training or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching the specific syllabus your child is on. Also ask which examination boards they are familiar with — MOE national syllabus, IP, IB, IGCSE, or AP — since this determines how well the teaching maps to your child's school assessments. If the provider has multiple tutors, confirm which one will be assigned to your child before signing up.
