Prospective students or parents can begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether that is beginner stroke development, competitive training, or recreational play. It is worth asking about group classes versus one-to-one coaching, available time slots, term commitment lengths, and whether any sessions are held online or exclusively at physical venues. The academy's sole listed address is at 865 Mountbatten Road, and it is worth confirming whether coaching is also conducted at other islandwide locations before enrolling.
To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about a trial class, confirm current availability, and discuss which training pathway suits your child's age and skill level.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Went over to send the young ones in my family for some session over last weekend. Out of enthusiasm, entered in but was chased out with rude tone by the staff. Assuming that I can't understand chinese, the staff and the chinese coach, probably the boss around there gave negative comments over my actions. If there are some discrepancies, cant they talk over it nicely? This is not something an established academy as big as New Cen should comment on customers. Please work hard on service quality to keep customers going. No need for follow-up action, just for service quality improvement and for everyone to take note.
New Century has a professional setup, coaches and facilities. Very impressed by the coaches and extensive programme ftom beginners to competitive players.
Venue is set up nicely, we came here to join the New Century 10th Anniversary Table Tennis Championships, well organised event, my kid really enjoyed it. Thumps up.
Very frustrating that they only communicate via WhatsApp message, not even allowing call. So all comms are delayed, and take longer than necessary.
As of April, 2023, the tables are very new and bouncy; harder to keep the serve short; so, great for attackers. The spacing behind the tables are ok for normal training but a little bit tight for tough competition matches. The good thing is that the walls are cushioned; so, no need to worry about accidentally bumping into them. Balls are provided too, but lighter than most three stars competition balls. It's at the 7th floor of the Katong Shopping Center to the left of the lifts.

New Century Table Tennis Academy displays a mid-range ($$) price indicator, but specific per-session rates are not publicly listed. In Singapore, sport enrichment classes of this type typically range from S$30–80 per session for group coaching, with one-to-one sessions priced higher. Monthly packages or term-based enrolment often work out more cost-effective than paying per session. Ask the academy whether a trial class is available and at what cost, whether materials or equipment are included, and whether sibling or package discounts apply. Confirm the full fee structure — including any registration or administrative fees — before committing to a term. See the full Sport & Swimming Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many sport enrichment academies in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee or as part of the first session. A trial is a valuable opportunity to assess whether the coaching style, pace, and group dynamic suit your child's age and current ability level. During the trial, observe how the coach provides feedback, whether the class size allows adequate individual attention, and whether your child is engaged and comfortable. Table tennis coaching for younger children benefits from patient, structured instruction, while competitive-track students may need a coach with tournament experience. Contact New Century Table Tennis Academy directly to confirm whether a trial class is available, its cost, and how to book one.
Credential details for the coaching team at New Century Table Tennis Academy are not publicly listed. For a sport coaching provider, relevant qualifications to ask about include accreditation from the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA), Sport Singapore coaching certification, or experience at national or regional competitive level. It is also worth asking how many years the lead coaches have been teaching, whether they have experience working with the specific age group or skill level you are enquiring about, and how the academy aligns its training with MOE physical education or competitive development pathways if that is relevant to your goals. Contact the academy directly to request this information before enrolling.
