About NHG Woodlands Polyclinic

About NHG Woodlands Polyclinic

NHG Woodlands Polyclinic is a public primary healthcare clinic located at 10 Woodlands Street 31, serving residents across the Woodlands area and the broader north of Singapore. It is KakiList-verified, and carries a 3.0/5 rating across 322 Google reviews — a robust sample, though the score suggests mixed patient experiences worth noting before visiting. As a National Healthcare Group polyclinic, fees are subsidised for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, making it considerably more affordable than private GP or specialist clinics for eligible patients.

Patients typically access NHG Woodlands Polyclinic by walk-in or appointment for general outpatient consultations, chronic disease follow-up under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), and referral letters to public hospital specialist outpatient clinics (SOCs). Citizens and PRs attending via the polyclinic referral pathway benefit from heavily subsidised SOC consultation fees of S$30–80 compared with S$120–250 for direct private specialist access. The clinic also supports the Screen for Life programme, offering subsidised health screening packages covering cardiovascular risk, diabetes, and cervical cancer for eligible Singaporeans. MediSave can be used under the MediSave 500/700 outpatient withdrawal limits and CDMP for qualifying chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, and selected mental health conditions.

Seen this a few times but first time entering! Place still gives off a very old school run down look except for the rooms and pharmacy? They renovate selectively? Facilities are all well though, where patients meets professionals are really fine, just the waiting area could really find some improvements.

I had scheduled appointments for flu vaccinations for both my wife and myself, but there was a one-and-a-half-hour discrepancy in our timings. Upon inquiring with the lobby staff about the possibility of receiving our vaccinations concurrently, we were met with exceptional service. The staff member demonstrated remarkable kindness and went above and beyond by assisting us in coordinating with the counter staff. The counter staff then manually printed a revised queue list, enabling us to receive our injections together. We are truly grateful for the empathy extended to us as customers.

Made an appt for mum's medical issue. Appt was at 2pm and saw the doctor at 2.10pm. The X-ray and blood-drawing were done swiftly after that. For my experience today, the system is much better. Not simple task for the medical professionals at polyclinic, pls keep up the good work! 👍

The dental service here are amazing. The dental staff here are knowledgeable and are very professional while performing my scaling and polishing. The polyclinic is also a 10 minutes walk from the Marsiling MRT station, making the trip easy for most residents. There was no queue as I made an appointment before heading down. The process was done within 1 hour. You can pay by cash or card here. Overall, a great experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does NHG Woodlands Polyclinic charge?

As a public polyclinic under the National Healthcare Group, consultation fees are subsidised for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Subsidised GP-equivalent consultations typically run S$10–25 for Citizens and S$20–40 for PRs after government subsidy, with foreigners paying closer to private GP rates of S$40–60. Investigations such as blood panels, urinalysis, and X-rays carry separate charges on top of the consultation. For planned referrals to public hospital specialist outpatient clinics (SOCs), the polyclinic referral letter is the entry point to subsidised specialist fees of S$30–80 per visit for Citizens — substantially lower than the S$120–250 charged at private specialist clinics. Screen for Life subsidised health screenings are available for eligible Singaporeans at minimal or zero out-of-pocket cost depending on income tier. MediSave can be used for outpatient CDMP-covered chronic conditions within the S$500/year general and S$700/year CDMP withdrawal limits. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is NHG Woodlands Polyclinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctors?

NHG Woodlands Polyclinic operates as part of the National Healthcare Group, a MOH-restructured healthcare cluster. All practising doctors at the polyclinic are Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registered — verifiable by name on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg. As a government restructured facility, the premises and clinical operations fall under MOH regulatory oversight, though no independent private clinic licence appears in the current listing data. Patients can verify any consulting doctor's SMC registration and confirm there are no disciplinary notations before or after their visit. For specialist procedures or planned surgery following a polyclinic referral, the receiving public hospital's doctors can similarly be checked on the SMC register, with relevant fellowship credentials (FRCS, FAMS) applicable to the surgical specialism.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at NHG Woodlands Polyclinic?

MediSave can be used at NHG Woodlands Polyclinic for outpatient consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers a range of listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, COPD, stroke, and selected mental health conditions, up to the S$700/year CDMP withdrawal limit. The general outpatient MediSave limit is S$500/year for non-CDMP visits. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life are primarily relevant when a polyclinic referral leads to inpatient admission or day surgery at a public hospital — the IP kicks in for hospital bills according to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider structure. For any planned inpatient procedure arising from a polyclinic referral, request a financial counselling session at the receiving hospital to obtain a written estimate splitting MediShield Life, IP cover, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding.
