We have been hosting au pairs for quite a few years and switched to Nina Care about four years ago after a friend recommended it. Honestly, the biggest difference for us was how practical everything is. With previous agencies it always felt like once the au pair arrived, you were kind of on your own. With NinaCare we actually still use the platform every week. The schedule is there, the pocket money agreement, and the tasks we agreed on. It sounds simple but it avoids so many awkward misunderstandings. Robin from support helped us early on when we were looking at candidates from outside Europe. He explained the visa side very clearly and suggested that for our situation it might be easier to host someone from Europe first. That ended up being great advice. Our au pair from Italy also met several other au pairs through NINACARE which helped her settle into London much faster than we expected. We did have a stressful situation when our second au pair had to leave suddenly because of a family emergency. Chloe was incredibly calm and helpful and helped us figure out next steps. Even Jasmijn, the founder, jumped on a quick call with us on a weekend which we honestly didn’t expect.
We engaged this au pair company in good faith and paid a substantial amount of money for services that were not delivered as agreed. After raising the matter, the company acknowledged the issue and confirmed that the money is owed to us. A repayment plan has been offered, which we appreciate in principle. However, the repayment period has been set over three years, which has caused ongoing financial pressure for our family. This situation has been very disappointing. We believe the company has a real opportunity to demonstrate integrity and rebuild trust by resolving the repayment more quickly. A faster resolution would reflect genuine accountability and care for the families affected. Until the matter is fully settled, we would encourage prospective clients to proceed with caution and to ensure that all payments and agreements are clearly protected. We hope to update this review positively once the repayment has been completed.
What stood out to me was how human Nina care feels. The advice call was calm personal and genuinely helpful, I never felt rushed the app itself is very easy to use and the quality of profiles is high. Our au pair has experience confidence and a great connection with our children (3 and 6).This feels like a platform built with parents in mind not just numbers.
I strongly advise against working with Nina Care. My experience was very negative both financially and ethically. I lost a lot of money due to their mismanagement, and they often gave misleading information, such as denying license issues when they knew there was a high risk. It became clear that they care more about profit than the wellbeing of host families or au pairs. Payments to au pairs were often late or inconsistent, which caused real problems given their small pocket money allowance. If you value honesty, fairness, and reliability, avoid Nina Care.
