Impressed with the efficiency and quality of care at Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic. Registration was fast and smooth. Nurse Yuganeswary was gentle and patient when removing my stitch, and front desk staff Carol Kong , positive attitude and funny, was really helpful with arranging my recheck appointment. Honestly, this was totally unexpected given the number of bad reviews I’ve heard from friends and family. Thank you for making my visit such a pleasant experience!

Missed the appt for my newborn jaundice checkup and decided to walk in. They had no slots however Mdm carol and Mr aaron helped me secure a slot to see the doctor on the day itself. Having a newborn is very tough but meeting kind people who is willing to help us is really heartening. They were also very friendly and serve me with a smile with no hint of annoyance. Thank you Mdm carol and Mr Aaron for your kind assistance. God bless!

I would like to compliment Nurse Siti AhzuHaira Ahmad from National University Polyclinics. She is extremely professional, patient and attentive. She explained my child’s growth clearly, checked carefully if we had any questions, and even re-measured my child’s height when she noticed something was not right. Her dedication and attitude are truly commendable. This was our best experience so far, and I am grateful for such responsible healthcare staff in Singapore.

If I could give 1 star I would because of how the nurse treated my parents earlier today. Not only did she KEPT interrupting my mom, she didn’t even allow her to have a say in anything she do. They’re the patients, of course they want to know what is the nurse is doing to them. How is it she repeatedly kept saying “Wait” with no kindness in her tone. No doctor present at all throughout the appointment as well even though they kept requesting for one. All they were given was a “Wait”. Wait till when ah?

Had the worst experience in this clinic on multiple occasions. There was a doctor who was plain rude to me just because I couldn't give a clear answer on some questions. Plus I was not even properly examined like how a doctor should be. Another instance, I had to have my ultrasound here and the lady who did my ultrasound was the worst! She would rather go home as it happened to be a Saturday, a half day. So, I didn't feel like my ultrasound report was clear at all. The doctor who reviewed my ultrasound also told me not to worry when the condition is serious. Ever since then, I stopped going to this polyclinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does NUP Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic charge?

As a public polyclinic, consultation fees are subsidised for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents — typically S$10–30 for a GP consultation after subsidy, compared with S$25–60 at a private GP and S$120–250 for a private specialist first visit. Fees vary by residency status: Singapore Citizens pay the lowest rate, PRs pay a higher subsidised rate, and foreigners pay unsubsidised rates closer to private GP pricing. Common add-ons billed separately include laboratory tests (blood panel, urine analysis), medications dispensed on-site, and selected procedures. Referral letters to public hospital specialist outpatient clinics (SOC) are issued here; subsidised SOC visits run S$30–80 for Citizens after subsidy but typically carry a 4–12 week wait for non-urgent conditions. GST applies on medical services. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is NUP Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctors?

NUP Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic operates as part of the National University Polyclinics network, which is a public healthcare institution regulated under the Healthcare Services Act. No licence details have been submitted to this KakiList listing, but public polyclinics in Singapore are required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory online. Every practising doctor is listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, searchable by name. For a polyclinic setting, all consulting doctors should hold valid SMC registration. The 2.4/5 rating across 259 Google reviews is a robust sample and suggests areas worth investigating — reading recent reviews before attending may help set expectations around waiting times and service quality.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at NUP Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic?

MediSave can be used for outpatient consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions. The CDMP MediSave withdrawal limit is S$500–700 per account holder per year for outpatient use. Routine acute GP consultations that do not fall under CDMP are generally not MediSave-claimable at the polyclinic. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life do not typically cover polyclinic outpatient visits — they are designed for inpatient and day-surgery costs. Screen for Life subsidised health screening for eligible Singapore Citizens can be accessed here at substantially reduced rates. For any planned specialist referral following a polyclinic visit, request a written referral letter, as this unlocks the subsidised SOC pathway at public hospitals and materially reduces specialist consultation costs.
