About NUP Pioneer Polyclinic

About NUP Pioneer Polyclinic

NUP Pioneer Polyclinic is a GP and primary care clinic located at 26 Jurong West Street 61, serving residents in the Jurong West and Pioneer areas of Singapore. It has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licence details are currently held on file. The clinic carries a 3.1/5 rating across 228 Google reviews — a robust sample size, though the rating itself sits below the typical range for well-regarded polyclinics and is worth factoring into your expectations.

As a polyclinic-style provider, NUP Pioneer Polyclinic is oriented towards primary care — general consultations, management of chronic conditions, referrals to specialist outpatient clinics (SOC), and routine preventive care. Patients accessing care through the polyclinic route typically benefit from subsidised consultation fees compared with private specialist clinics. For chronic disease management, the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, and selected mental health conditions, with MediSave 500/700 withdrawal limits applicable for eligible outpatient visits. Referrals generated here can unlock subsidised SOC appointments at restructured hospitals, though non-urgent specialist waits typically run four to twelve weeks.

To make an appointment or enquire about services, contact NUP Pioneer Polyclinic by phone or through the online enquiry form before your visit to confirm current consultation hours, available services, and any documentation to bring for chronic disease follow-up.

I made an appointment and arrived an hour early. However, you still have to wait till your appointment time and the number of patients before me just kept increasing as time passes by, even when it's my appointment time It's no use being early, you will be penalised to wait. It's better to be late then early in this system as they will slot you in if you are late. Being early means you will be exposed to virus for a longer period also.

Located within walking distance from Pioneer MRT Station. Entry is automated by self-help kiosks. Staff are ready to help. Directions are clear. Lift and escalator access to higher levels. Doctors are caring and attentive. Collection of medicine is orderly at pharmacy. Setting up future appointments is convenient. Air-conditioned environment and comfortable seats.

Had appointment for flu jab at 10.40am. Registered at 10.23am. Had 5 patients to wait as seen from NUHS app. At 11.09am, the 4th patient just called in. There was 3 patients to wait. Decided to cancel and walk off. What a contrast to my wife's flu jab at Jurong polyclinic (just the day before) that was much more prompt.

Came here not for the sake of medical leave. Appointment stated at 1040hrs. But still no call-up at 1110hrs. Should go to private clinic instead. Really disappointed. Sorry for rating 1-star.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does NUP Pioneer Polyclinic charge?

At a subsidised polyclinic, Singapore Citizens typically pay S$10–15 per GP consultation after CHAS and Merdeka/Pioneer Generation subsidies, with PRs paying a higher subsidised rate and foreigners paying closer to private rates. Investigations such as blood panels, urine tests, and X-rays are billed separately — expect S$20–80 for routine panels at a polyclinic setting. Prescribed medications are dispensed at subsidised rates and billed at the point of collection. For planned procedures or specialist referrals generated from this clinic, the subsequent SOC visit at a restructured hospital runs S$30–80 for Citizens after subsidy, with wait times of four to twelve weeks for non-urgent cases. Any investigation or procedure at the SOC should be quoted with a written financial counselling estimate splitting insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions. Is NUP Pioneer Polyclinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration details are currently held on file for NUP Pioneer Polyclinic on KakiList. Before your visit, you can verify the clinic's operating licence on the MOH licensee directory and confirm the consulting doctor's registration on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg — search by the doctor's name to confirm their registration status, specialist accreditation if relevant, and any disciplinary history. For a clinic of this type, both the MOH Healthcare Services Licence on the premises and the SMC registration of the practising doctor should be confirmable through these public channels. If you are unable to locate either entry, contact the clinic directly before booking to request confirmation.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at NUP Pioneer Polyclinic?

MediSave can be used for outpatient visits under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers listed conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, asthma, COPD, stroke, and selected mental health conditions — the annual withdrawal limit is S$500 per account holder under MOM 500 or S$700 under CDMP 700. For routine non-CDMP GP visits, MediSave is generally not claimable at the outpatient level. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient and day-surgery costs rather than polyclinic consultations. CHAS subsidies (for Blue, Orange, and Green cardholders) and Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation benefits directly reduce out-of-pocket consultation fees at the point of payment. If you are referred for a planned procedure, request a financial counselling session at the receiving facility so the estimate of insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket cost is provided in writing before you commit.
