Families considering Onyx MMA would typically begin by enquiring about level and programme fit — whether classes are suitable for beginners, intermediate students, or those training for competition, and which age groups are catered for. It is worth clarifying whether sessions are structured as group classes or include one-to-one coaching options, what the term commitment looks like, and whether the Tampines Street 92 location is convenient or if satellite arrangements exist. Asking about the syllabus structure, belt or grading progression, and the qualifications of the coaching staff will help you assess whether the programme aligns with your child's goals and experience level.
To take the next step, reach out to Onyx MMA via WhatsApp or their enquiry form to ask about a trial class, confirm current class schedules, and check availability at their Tampines Street 92 centre before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
7/8 months into this and absolutely love the gym and the community. Taking advantage of the unlimited classes, I go 4 times a week and pair Muay Thai class and iron lab (strength training) so the fees are absolutely worth it. The coaches (boon and Isk) are so amazing, patient and friendly and will check and advise your form. It’s intense but that’s what you want!! The trainer for iron lab is so friendly BUT WILL PUSH YOU. She takes notes of how much weights you used last time and will tell you to up weights or reps and keep an eye on strengthening you, so no slacking. She’s so sweet but so strict (love you Xin Jie I know you’re reading this HAHAHA). Over this period I’ve gotten stronger and more confident. Can’t wait to come into the gym more and more. I actually used to dread exercising and now it’s so much fun!! For those in doubt, do a trial class and then sign up for a year like me!! No regretsssss
6 months into Muay Thai now and I have to say that the trainers have made it a really pleasant and fun experience. It’s such a good experience that I signed my son up, he looks forward to every Sunday’s Muay Thai lesson. Kids should also pick up martial art for discipline and I like that the trainers are serious and take pride in what they do! So if you are hesitating; DON’T! Just take the first step and sign up for a class!
I signed up my 6 year old son for the muay thai class. First 2 session was ok, trainer seems to know how to handle kids but still does not looked like he is trained to handle kids. However, its all good. 3rd session, a different trainer, suddenly the training like army camp, but still ok until the trainer used his feet to correct one of the student push up/sit up position. The class is for age 4 - 12, so it’s ok to do that? Kids will learn what they see and apply it somewhere else. Now the big question mark is, are the trainers trained to handle kids of 4 years old onwards?
I really enjoyed training here for a month, All Trainers are very competent, it is a very intensiv training, but they still manage to have fun within the session! unfortunatly i hurt my neck so i could not say bye in person... maybe i will be back next year! :)
Went for a trial boxing lesson with my friend and it was awesome! The staff and coach are very friendly and super helpful; they made us feel comfortable in a new environment and answered all my beginner questions on boxing. Will definitely be back for more sessions!

Onyx MMA does not publicly list a specific per-session rate, and pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier. In Singapore, martial arts and MMA classes typically range from S$30 to S$80 per session depending on group size, coaching level, and programme type. Monthly packages or term-based fees are common and often work out more cost-effective than paying per class. It is worth asking whether a trial class fee applies, whether training equipment or uniform is included or charged separately, and if sibling or multi-class package discounts are available. Confirm the full cost in writing before committing to a term. See the full Sport and Swimming Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many martial arts schools in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee or complimentary for first-time students. A trial session is a practical way to assess whether the coaching style, class pace, and group dynamic suit your child before signing up for a full term. During the trial, observe whether the coach explains techniques clearly, whether the class size allows for individual attention, and whether the difficulty level is appropriate. Children who are new to martial arts in particular benefit from a structured beginner pathway rather than being placed in a mixed-level group. Contact Onyx MMA directly via WhatsApp or their enquiry form to confirm whether a trial class is available and what the associated cost, if any, would be.
Specific coaching credentials for Onyx MMA are not listed publicly. For a martial arts or MMA school, relevant credentials to ask about include competitive or professional fighting background, certification from recognised bodies such as the Singapore Muay Thai Federation or equivalent governing bodies for BJJ, wrestling, or boxing, and years of coaching experience. It is also worth asking whether coaches hold any sports coaching qualifications recognised by Sport Singapore, and how the school structures its grading or belt progression system if applicable. If credentials are important to your decision — particularly for children's classes — contact Onyx MMA directly to ask about the lead coach's background and teaching philosophy before enrolling.
