This is the second time the clinic has cancelled my appointment. Once can still be understandable, but twice shows poor management and lack of consideration for patients. It’s not about being understanding, the doctor should plan better. If some patients require urgent surgery, the clinic should keep time open for emergency only instead of taking other appointments just to earn money and then cancelling them. Other patients can’t be kept waiting indefinitely. A small issue could become serious or even require surgery later because of this kind of neglect and delay. Very disappointing experience. —— Update: After this second cancellation, I had a call with the doctor, who tried to convince me that minor issues “are not that urgent” meaning don’t require timely care and that they weren’t trying to inconvenience us. However, any doctor with basic common sense and professionalism, rather than a mindset focused purely on maximizing earning, should understand how severe the consequences of delayed medical treatment can be, especially when it happens twice. When I asked him to issue a referral letter so that I could see another doctor who could assist me sooner, I had to insist and be persistent before he finally agreed. At first, he even said, “Oh, but the MRI report has already been sent to your email,” which was quite concerning, because any professional doctor should know that when changing to another physician, patients need not only the MRI report but also details of the treatment, medication, and methods that have already been completed.

Firstly, I would to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr KC Ang for the wonderful advice given to my back injury treatment. An operation was done with not much discomfort and pain. During the whole procedure, he is always there to give you the assurance and moral support which I felt like a patient than just a product in the OT. Throughout the follow up sessions with him was so comfortable and he knows very well how to tackle the problem and my emotions. His recommendations for physiotherapy on which area to work on also greatly help with my recovery and the recovery process was so pleasant. During the recovery stage, he makes sure I have enough rest and focus to work on the area to recover well with all the exercises he advised. Today, I had recovered well and feel like the injury has never occurs. A BIG thank you to Dr Ang and the counter staff for making my visits with such a pleasant experience with all of you.

Dr Tan Ken Jin operated on my ankle and has been an amazing surgeon and doctor from the very first moment I emailed him at 9pm one night in agony and pain. His bedside manner, his patience and his aura of strength and expertise made me realise after the very first visit that I was in the best of hands and care. And with each visit my gratitude only grows. When my son had an ankle injury one month after me I didn’t hesitate for a minute about where to take him. And Dr Tan attended to my questions regarding my son’s ankle so kindly even outside office hours. Thank you to Dr Tan and everyone - all the wonderful staff and nurses - at OrthoSports, for the amazing job you do!

Saw Dr Paul Bell for my 7 year old daughter's little toe. To the credit of the Radiologist and Dr Bell, he diagnosed it correctly as a broken toe, something that previous GPs missed even with X-rays done. He prescribed surgery and wanted to get it done within the next 2-3 weeks. The surgery was quite invasive of needing a bone graft, and then inserting a wire in the toe. We were concerned as the cure seemed worse than the actual ailment. Seeking additional opinions from several other doctors all led to a unanimous "No surgery. Just do a buddy splint and let it heal." We decided to trust the other doctors and did not go through with the surgery. Instead we did buddy splints of the toes and tried to enforce more rest for her. 2 months later, her toe was already mostly healed and she is able to be more active. 1 more month and she was able to resume her sports. I shudder to think of the unnecessary pain and suffering we would've put her through had we proceeded with the surgery. Looking at the massive bill for the surgery had we gone ahead led me to better understand the dynamics of private medical practice. In my personal opinion, 1 star for the advice. But gave an additional star cos he was actually able to diagnose the broken toe which other GPs missed.
