When engaging a confinement agency, the process typically begins several months before your due date — popular nannies and agencies are often fully booked six to twelve months in advance, so early contact is strongly advisable. Once you reach out by phone or via the enquiry form, you would ordinarily discuss your preferred confinement period (the standard is 28 days, though some families opt for a 56-day arrangement), dietary tradition and herbal soup preferences, whether the nanny will be staying overnight or on day-shift only, and any specific requirements around newborn care or the mother's recovery. An interview or phone call with the proposed nanny before confirming the booking is standard practice and helps establish compatibility around food preparation, sleep arrangements, and working style. Confirm all terms — duties, food inclusions, overnight hours, and any agency replacement policy — in writing before paying a deposit.
To check availability and receive a package quote, contact PEM Confinement Group directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing.

We are grateful to have had Joo Sau Leng (#2280) as our confinement nanny. She proved to be an invaluable support during this important period. She followed our daily tasks diligently, showing great discipline and consistency. Her hardworking nature gave us peace of mind, knowing everything was well taken care of. With her wealth of experience, she handled our baby with patience and confidence, offering practical tips that were both thoughtful and effective. She was very respectful of our household, never checking or taking mummy’s belongings unnecessarily, which made us feel comfortable and secure. Her calm and patient demeanor reassured us, especially during moments when the baby was fussy. She prepared meals according to my appetite, ensuring I was well-nourished and satisfied throughout the confinement period. Overall, Joo Sau Leng’s dedication, respect, and unselfish sharing of knowledge made her an outstanding support to our family. We truly appreciate her efforts and would highly recommend her to other families seeking a reliable and caring confinement nanny.
We are incredibly grateful to have had Soon Ai Nee (#1799) as our confinement nanny. She is meticulous, attentive, and extremely experienced. From day one, she gave us very practical and helpful advice, which really eased my worries as a first-time mum. She was very attentive to our baby and somehow always worked her magic whenever the baby cried. It gave us so much reassurance and peace of mind knowing our little one was in such capable and loving hands. She also made sure I had ample rest and constantly reminded me to prioritise my recovery. I truly felt cared for and well supported throughout the entire confinement period. Ai Nee patiently trained our fresh helper as well, guiding her on baby care and household routines, which was such a huge bonus for our family. On top of that, she cooked delicious and nourishing meals every day, we genuinely looked forward to every dish! Highly recommend Ai Nee to any family looking for a reliable, caring, and professional confinement nanny. To Ai Nee: Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for our family during this precious and vulnerable period. We are grateful to have you by our side. Wishing you continued good health and happiness — and many more babies blessed to be cared for by you.
PEM was very prompt in updating me on the next steps and communication was smooth via WhatsApp, email, and phone calls. I opted for the Gold nanny with an additional top-up, and it was definitely worth it for the assurance of a guaranteed nanny with consistently good reviews. Auntie Siew Lang (1589) cooked really good meals and made sure I was well-fed and had enough rest. There was a nice variety of food, and she was flexible with my taste preferences. She was also very approachable and proactive in helping out, which made the whole confinement experience much more comfortable. She handled my high demand baby well and encourages latching. She is a great support to my breastfeeding journey.
We had May Jie (#2090) over for our confinement and I extended her for another 2 weeks because there's no one i trust to take care of baby other than her. 🤣🤣 Initially I was worried about having a stranger in the house, but we clicked almost immediately. She is very systematic but yet flexible. And one thing I noticed is no matter what she is doing at the moment, she will wash and sanitize her hands before touching the baby. She taught me many new recipes and we had fun exploring the recipes at home. Her cooking is superb and she feeds the baby well too, taking care of both the baby and me. I strongly recommend her though I wanna gatekeep her. She has high expectations of herself and how she take care of the baby. She is truly a great help,!
We decided to top up for a Gold nanny as we wanted the assurance of having a dependable and experienced confinement nanny. We were assigned Nanny Tan Kee Hoon (#2142), and she did not disappoint. She was truly a godsend, and we are so thankful for the care, support, and love she showered on our family during our confinement period. What we really appreciated about Aunty: 1) Provided exceptional care for our baby Aunty truly doted on our baby and was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. She knew how to soothe the baby, read her cues well, and use different holding positions. She was also very familiar with which baby products worked well and how best to use them. Her experience and genuine love for babies were very evident, which made it easy for us to trust her. In fact, we trusted her so much that we left all night care completely to her and did not have to wake up to tend to the baby during the night — a huge blessing while I (mummy) was recovering from childbirth. 2) Provided thoughtful and attentive care for mummy Before confinement, I (mummy) was not looking forward to feeling hot all the time, as many mummy friends had warned me about this. Aunty was very intentional in choosing foods that were nourishing without being overly heaty - not once did I feel uncomfortably hot during the confinement period! She also paid attention to baby's bowel movements and would note which foods made our baby gassy. Overall, her meals were consistently delicious, nutritious, and thoughtfully prepared. 3) Generous and well-prepared Aunty came very well-prepared, bringing along many of her own items — including kitchen tools, swaddles, small towels, and a small wash basin — in case we did not have them and would have needed to scramble to buy them at the last minute. She even generously allowed us to keep some of these baby items. She was also very generous with her time and care. If our baby cried for a long time during her rest period, she would immediately come to attend to her, even if it meant interrupting her own rest. We often felt bad disturbing her, but were incredibly grateful for her willingness to step in when we were unsure how to soothe the baby. 4) Organised and clean Aunty is an excellent homemaker, and this showed clearly in how she organised our home — especially the kitchen and even our fridge. She cleaned the kitchen thoroughly at the end of each day and also helped organise our nursery in a way that allowed for an efficient and practical workflow, which is very helpful for us as first-time parents. 5) Easy to get along with Aunty was very respectful and always checked in with us about our preferences. She would offer advice, but never pushed us to do anything we were uncomfortable with. In the final week, when we were learning the ropes from her, she was extremely patient and encouraging, even when we made mistakes or felt stressed carrying out certain tasks like bathing the baby. As first-time parents who have now experienced what it takes to care for a newborn, we have a newfound appreciation for confinement nannies and the physically demanding, often backbreaking work they do. We are especially thankful to Aunty for making this confinement period such a restful and pleasant one, which truly helped me (mummy) recover well, and both of us to feel more confident in caring for our baby. We will miss Aunty very much — her gentle singing as she put our baby to sleep, her delicious meals, and her assuring and dependable presence in our home. We are already looking forward to having our second child so that we can engage her help again (haha!).

PEM Confinement Group uses package-based pricing; the specific fee should be confirmed directly with the agency, as rates vary by nanny experience, package duration, and the scope of duties included. As a market reference, a standard 28-day confinement nanny package in Singapore typically ranges from S$3,500 to S$6,500. A 56-day extended arrangement will be priced higher accordingly. Confirm what is included in the quoted package — overnight care, baby bathing, herbal soup preparation, and daily meals for the mother are common inclusions, but some agencies bill food ingredients separately. Ask whether GST is applicable and whether a deposit is required at booking. See the full confinement nanny cost guide for Singapore →
It is advisable to begin enquiring at least four to six months before your estimated due date. In practice, experienced and well-reviewed nannies are often booked six to twelve months in advance, particularly around the Lunar New Year period and school holiday months when demand peaks. Once you make contact, the agency will typically guide you through an interview with a proposed nanny so you can assess compatibility — covering food preferences (for example, Cantonese herbal soups versus a dairy-friendly diet), overnight expectations, and how the nanny handles newborn care. Confirming special requests such as halal-only cooking or specific herbal ingredients early in the process avoids mismatches later. Securing your preferred nanny early also gives you time to arrange a backup option, which is worth considering given the difficulty of finding last-minute replacements during peak periods.
Confinement nanny certification is not regulated by any Singapore government body, so training levels vary. Some agencies run their own in-house training programmes covering newborn care, basic breastfeeding support, and traditional postpartum cooking. It is reasonable to ask PEM Confinement Group about their nannies' training background and experience directly during the enquiry call. On the question of replacement: working through an agency rather than a freelance nanny provides a degree of recourse if the arrangement is not working out. Confirm the agency's replacement policy in writing before signing — specifically, the window during which a replacement is offered, what circumstances qualify, and whether there is an additional charge. Freelance nannies are generally less expensive but leave you with limited options if the relationship breaks down mid-confinement.
