About Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar

Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar is a general practice clinic located at Paya Lebar Square, serving patients across Singapore. It holds a 4.1/5 rating across 199 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides a reliable indication of patient experience. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range level on a per-visit basis, consistent with private GP consultation norms in Singapore.

For a first visit, patients typically walk in or call ahead to book a same-day appointment. The clinic handles a broad range of general outpatient needs — acute illnesses, repeat prescriptions, health screening, and chronic disease management. Patients managing long-term conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol may be eligible for the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which allows MediSave withdrawal for outpatient treatment at participating clinics. Those with Integrated Shield Plans should check whether the clinic is a panel provider under their insurer, as this affects claim processing. I’m incredibly grateful to have Dr Angela Foong as the trusted medical advisor for myself and my family at Phoenix Medical Group (located within Paya Lebar Square). Dr Foong always takes the time to listen attentively to our concerns and never makes us feel rushed. She explains our ailments and overall health conditions in great detail, ensuring we fully understand the situation and the available options. Her advice is clear, thoughtful, and always in our best interest. What we appreciate most is her genuine care and dedication to our general health and well-being. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that our family is under her care. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate doctor.

I’m very happy with the service and the professionalism that was given to me by the nurses and the doctor here. Dr Angela Foong treated my eye issues seriously and made sure that I understood why it was reoccurring and what I can do to cure it. She also managed to help me understand how I got the issue in the first place and how I can prevent it in the future. She gave me clear instructions on the medications that I took, as well as explaining why I needed this amount of medication for my injury, as it may not look serious from the outside perspective. The nurses were very kind and made sure that they explained to me very thoroughly about the kinds of medicine the dr was giving me and even made sure that I knew which medications to take for which day, and why the doses decreased the longer I take the meds. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would definitely like to go back again if I ever have to see the doctors. This has by far been the best experience that I had while visiting the doctors.

Worst clinic experience of my life. I was really unwell when I arrived, and during registration I told the receptionist that my e-card on my insurance app was having issue. She didn’t say anything or warn me of any issue. After seeing the doctor, I tried the app again, and it finally work. So before I was even called for payment, I informed them of the situation and showed them my screen. Before I can even explain myself further . They immediately shut me down and said “cannot be done. They never even apologised or explain why cannot. Hence, I explained that the app was down earlier, but they gave me no proper explanation for why they couldn’t process it. At no point did anyone tell me that once registration is completed, I’m no longer allowed to present my e-card. This was my first time at this clinic and my first time using this insurance, so of course I asked for clarification. Furthermore, they talked to me like I done some illegal or implied I was trying to cheat the system or something. And it doesn’t make sense, why can’t I display the card afterwards? They clearly can help me to fix the situation but honestly it felt like they were purposely making things difficult for me, despite me being ill. To make things worse, after the incident, I sat back down and they started speaking loudly among themselves in Chinese about me, I know they were speaking ill about me saying: “哪里可以这样的,刚刚没有拿出来,要弄成这样.” Thankfully, I understood Chinese. Why were they blaming me when all they had to do was explain nicely? And fun fact I was patient number 2, and they purposely make me wait till patient number 6-7 made their payment then they ask me to come forward. And the clinic wasn’t even busy. Worst experience, first and last time coming here. You can see their review. All is about the receptionist and nurse. And to be frank polyclinic service are better than the staff here. Horrible service

I had a very good experience with this clinic. The doctor, Angela was professional, experienced, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The clinician was excellent and very attentive. The front counter staff were also friendly and helpful, making the entire visit smooth and pleasant. Highly recommend

I can’t help but give a review as well. Like what another one of the review mentioned, the middle age female receptionist who wears specs with hair to her shoulders is selectively rude and I can’t seem to fathom why. During ALL of my visits to Phoenix, she was nothing but rude and impatient to me (demographic: university student in her 20s) while being extremely nice to every other patient. Can the clinic please explain why she is selectively rude? Thanks Other than that, the other receptionists are very nice. Doctors are very nice and patient too. Five star for everyone else but this rude receptionist.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar charge?

GP consultations at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with follow-up visits generally at the lower end of that range. Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar is priced at a mid-range level, consistent with this band. Beyond the consultation fee, expect additional charges for investigations (blood panel S$60–200, X-ray S$80–150), medications dispensed at the clinic, and any procedures performed during the visit. GST applies on private medical services. If you are attending for a health screening package, costs vary considerably by scope — basic packages start around S$150 and comprehensive panels can run S$500–2,500+. For any planned procedure, request a written estimate that breaks down the consultation, investigation, and medication costs separately. See the full GP & 24-Hour Clinics cost guide for Singapore →

Is Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration appears in the provider data currently listed for Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar on KakiList. Every legitimate private clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must also be individually registered on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. Phoenix Medical Group is a recognised multi-clinic group in Singapore, which suggests the relevant licences exist at the corporate and individual-doctor level. However, because licence details are not confirmed in this listing, we recommend verifying both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC entry directly before booking — neither alone is sufficient. Contact the clinic by phone to request confirmation of the clinic licence number and the name of the attending doctor, then cross-check both on the MOH and SMC public registers.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient stays and day surgery, though some IP riders extend coverage to pre- and post-hospitalisation specialist outpatient visits. Standard GP consultations at private clinics are generally not IP-claimable unless linked to an admission — check your plan's outpatient rider terms with your insurer before assuming coverage. MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions — up to S$700 per year per patient under the MediSave 500/700 scheme. The clinic must be a CDMP-registered provider for MediSave withdrawal to apply. Confirm this directly with Phoenix Medical Group Paya Lebar when booking. For any planned procedure that may involve day surgery or an IP claim, request a pre-treatment financial counselling session with a written estimate itemising insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding.
