Impressed with the seamless visitor registration but not the exit process. First time visiting a patient at the kids Tower. Visitors have to self register and take a photo. At the lift gantry, it scans your face to enter. 4 visitors allowed but system doesn’t scan face for exit? Can only comment for Ward A - didn’t see any Ward B/C
I am extremely disappointed with the service at the Diagnostic Department. The waiting time was excessively long. We waited for over an hour, and when our queue number was finally called, it was flashed briefly and we were directed to Room 17 under the radiologist, Katrina. As my mother is elderly and walks slowly, we took less than a minute to reach the room. However, we were told that we had missed our queue number and were instructed to wait outside, with the assurance that someone would call us. No one did. After waiting for some time with no follow-up, I had to return to the counter myself to explain our situation. Only then did the staff realise what had happened. This experience was frustrating and distressing, particularly for an elderly patient. The radiologist appeared rushed, which made the interaction feel dismissive and not aligned with patient-centred care. KKH is known for its standards of care, and this experience fell far below expectations. I strongly urge the department to review its queue management process, staff communication practices, and approach towards elderly patients, to ensure that similar incidents do not recur.
KKH service has been extremely disappointing. Admission staff, the level of empathy and basic courtesy has been lacking. As parents, we are already physically and emotionally exhausted caring for a sick child. We are not asking to be treated like royalty — we are simply asking to be treated with kindness, patience and respect. Instead, when we try to explain our situation or ask for help, we are often cut off mid-sentence or spoken to in a dismissive manner. This only adds more stress and frustration to parents who are already going through a very difficult time. Healthcare is not just about medical treatment. Compassion, empathy and communication are just as important when dealing with patients and their families. It is deeply disappointing that when feedback is raised, the response often feels like the institution is quick to defend staff rather than acknowledge the experience of patients and their families. Perhaps it is time for all frontline staff — especially those at admissions — to undergo proper service training or Certified Service Professional courses to improve how they interact with parents and patients. A little empathy, patience and understanding can make a huge difference. Parents who come to the hospital are already worried and overwhelmed. The least we hope for is to be treated with respect, not dismissal. Very disappointed with the experience.
I hve to compliment the staff in O&G Urgent Clinic/EPAU. since my 1st appointment, they've been so attentive and supportive. They explained every procedure & side effects so I know what I was getting into and made sure I understood. They also showed so much support due to my pregnancy complications, which I appreciate so much. Im sure in the job, they have to be desensitised to it but their empathy is so huge.
