Parents and students typically begin by enquiring about syllabus and level fit — whether the focus is PSLE, DSA, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or overseas university admissions preparation. It is worth confirming whether Rocket Academy offers group classes, one-to-one coaching, or both, and whether sessions are available in-person at Somerset, online, or through a blended arrangement. Clarifying term commitment, session frequency, and any materials or resource fees upfront helps families plan accurately. A trial class is the most practical way to assess teaching style, pacing, and whether the approach matches a student's learning profile before committing to a longer programme.
To get started, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to confirm current cohort availability and to arrange a trial class at the Somerset Road centre.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Was always looking to find out more about coding and a friend introduced me to try Rocket's coding basics course. Having completed the basics course I can say it was a great experience - the material and lessons were very well-structured and paced in a fun and interactive way where you get to experience practical outcomes by coding your own web-based game projects. The instructors were also really helpful and genuine when trying to answer your questions (be it about code or the industry etc.). Highly recommend for any who prefers a structured way to get an introduction to coding vs just doing self-learning! :)
I attended the basic course and I find it is a well structured and comprehensive beginner course. The trainers are very knowledgeable and were able to explain concepts and answer questions well. I like how the classes are set up with abit of teaching at the start and then more focus on practicals with interactions with our fellow students. The projects we worked on can cater to a broad range of abilities, with added levels of difficulty in additional tasks given to the projects.
I have no regret in joining Rocket Academy! I enrolled in Coding Basics. The educators are very capable and knowledgeable. They able to explained class materials and answer students questions clearly .They are very passionate about teaching which create a sense of enjoyment atmosphere. The course difficulty increase progressively . It also train you on learning how to work as a pair with 1 computer which improve the ability in explaining what you plan on coding. At the end of the day , you are able to create a more complex programs.
The program offers a comprehensive learning experience for all but especially so for those who have zero knowledge of coding. They take great care to make sure that no one is lagging behind but still manage to cover enough content to make the course useful despite it just being a 6 weeks introductory course. The tutors were prepared for class and knowledgeable to answer the questions or to offer help where needed. There is a great community to join here that is super helpful and welcoming. The engagement for this course encourages students to attend class and to participate. All in all, I had a positive experience for the course and would recommend my friends to take it up for learning or an interest check in coding
Coding Basics Course Review Neutral - The course uses a flipped classroom format, so students should be comfortable figuring things on their own without relying too much on the instructors. Pros - The course is fully online and remote, makes it flexible for students to choose where to take the classes from. - Exercises are progressive in terms of difficulty, which eases the student into learning how to code and leads up to the projects assigned. - The concepts taught are not limited to a single programming language. Cons - The virtual setting of the course means there is little interaction between students before and after lessons. - Instructors come from different backgrounds and their way of teaching will differ.

A trial class is the most reliable way to assess whether Rocket Academy's teaching approach suits your child or your own learning style. During a trial, look for level appropriateness — is the content challenging but not overwhelming? — and teaching style, particularly how the tutor handles questions and pacing. Contact Rocket Academy via WhatsApp or the enquiry form to check whether a trial class is offered, what it costs, and which programmes currently have availability. Some test prep providers offer a free or discounted first session; others charge the standard rate. Clarifying this before booking avoids any surprise. If the trial class feels misaligned in level or method, it is worth raising that directly before signing up for a full term.
Specific tutor credentials are not listed in the available data for Rocket Academy. For test preparation and admissions coaching, the most relevant credentials to ask about include prior MOE teaching or NIE training, familiarity with the specific syllabus your child is targeting (MOE PSLE/O-Level/A-Level, IB, AP, or overseas admissions frameworks), and the tutor's track record with students at a comparable starting level. Ask Rocket Academy directly which tutor would be assigned to your child, their academic background, and how many students they have guided through the specific examination or admissions process you are targeting. Consistent tutor assignment matters particularly in one-to-one settings.
