About "Sailfin Swim School"
Sailfin Swim School is a swimming school operating islandwide across Singapore, listed under the Sport and Swimming Schools subcategory on KakiList. The school holds KakiList verified status and is registered with ACRA. It carries a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5, though this is based on 9 reviews — a small sample, so it should be treated as directional rather than definitive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific session or programme fees are not publicly listed.
For those considering Sailfin Swim School, the usual first step is to enquire about which programme level suits your child or yourself — whether that is beginner, intermediate, or a specific stroke-focused course — and how well it aligns with your current ability. It is worth asking whether classes are run in groups or on a one-to-one basis, what the group sizes are, and whether there is any term commitment involved. The school is based at 293 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Singapore 319387, and claims islandwide coverage, so it is sensible to confirm whether additional locations or pool venues are available. Asking about the qualifications and certifications of the instructors — such as Singapore Swimming Association or AUSTSWIM credentials — will help you assess fit before signing up.
The most direct next step is to contact Sailfin Swim School by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current programme availability, class schedules, and fees before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My kid has just attended 7 lessons with Coach Don and he's learnt so much even in the first lesson, my kid was already able to do something he couldn't achieve previously when we self-teach him. Coach Don has made the sessions encouraging and enjoyable for my boy which we as parents truly appreciate.
coach gordan and coach vincent really helped my child build her confidence in swimming. their encouraging, firm and affable nature makes them extremely likeable and my child looks forward to swim classes every week. would highly recommend Fins swim school to friends and family!
FINS Swim Club at Toa Payoh SAFRA offers great facilities and good coaches. The pool is well-maintained and the staff is friendly. A good choice for anyone looking to start/improve their swimming skills!
Been at this swim school for at least 3 years for each of my child’. Coaches are professional and dedicated
Mixed reviews from forums and group chats. Felt the feedback mainly attributable to specific instructor/coach. Must be a member (or depedent) to be able to enrol. The only advantage is that it seems to be the only swim school operating at SAFRA Toa Payoh. Seems to be quite popular, probably due to the closure of Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. My toddler has been on the waiting list since Nov 2023 and only recently received an email invite for a free assessment (2 dates on weekends and specific timing). Apparently, this is intended to determine skill level and later to offer class slots based on that skill level. I ask for an indicative schedule to see if my child can even make it for the actual lesson slots. The response I got is essentially to do the assessment first and offer me the appropriate slots afterwards. Based on other parents, classes are usually held on Thur, Fri, Sat, and Sun (also at specific timing). After some thought, I didn't proceed with the assessment cos I have to move our schedule around just to go for the assessment and ultimately may end up not being able to accommodate the actual lesson schedule. There's still a long waiting list, so I'm not hopefully that I will get any more visibility on scheduling. Update 8 Mar 2024: Received a follow-up email from Es**** and had a more pleasant correspondence. Turns out that there might be a class slot that my kids can join. So proceeded to schedule the assessment session. Kudos to Es**** for following up and effective communication.

Sailfin Swim School has not publicly listed its specific session or programme fees. In the Singapore market, swimming school group classes typically run between S$25 and S$50 per session, while one-to-one coaching can range from S$80 to S$150 or more per session. Some schools price by the term or bundle lessons into monthly packages, which may work out at a lower per-session rate. It is worth asking whether there is a trial class fee, any registration or administrative charge, and whether materials such as kickboards or floats are included or charged separately. Sibling discounts and package deals for block bookings are common in swimming schools and worth enquiring about. Contact Sailfin Swim School directly to get a current fee schedule. Many swimming schools in Singapore offer a trial class at a reduced rate or as part of the enrolment process, though Sailfin Swim School has not published a specific trial class policy. A trial is a useful opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits your child or yourself, whether the group pace is appropriate for the current ability level, and whether the pool environment is comfortable. When attending a trial, observe how the instructor manages the group, how much individual attention each student receives, and whether progressions are clearly explained. For children, note whether the instructor communicates in a calm and encouraging manner. Contact Sailfin Swim School directly to confirm whether a trial session is available, what it costs, and what the sign-up process looks like if you decide to continue.
Sailfin Swim School has not published specific instructor credentials in its listing. For swimming instruction in Singapore, relevant qualifications include Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) coaching certification, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification, and Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) awards. Instructors working with young children ideally hold a valid first aid certificate as well. It is advisable to ask directly about the qualifications held by the instructor who will be teaching your class, their experience with the relevant age group or ability level, and how long they have been with the school. If syllabus alignment matters — for example, if you are preparing for a specific swimming badge programme or competitive pathway — confirm this with the school before enrolling.
