About "SCC Rugby Academy"
SCC Rugby Academy is a sports enrichment provider operating islandwide from its base at 71G Loewen Road, Singapore 248846. It holds a 4.8-star rating across 43 Google reviews — a moderate sample that is encouraging but worth supplementing with your own enquiries — and has been verified by KakiList, confirming that operating details and contact channels are active. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range ($$) level, though specific session or programme fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the academy.
Families considering the academy would typically begin by reaching out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to discuss which programme level suits their child's age, experience, and rugby goals. It is worth asking whether coaching is organised into term-based group sessions or whether more flexible arrangements are available, and whether any trial sessions can be arranged to help assess fit before committing to a longer programme. Confirming the syllabus or skills progression framework — and how the coaching aligns with World Rugby development pathways — will help set clear expectations around what players can expect to develop over time.
To take the next step, contact SCC Rugby Academy directly via WhatsApp or phone to ask about current programme availability, appropriate age or ability groupings for your child, and session schedules that fit your family's calendar.
Take the trial class and confirm the coach's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My son has been playing at SCC (U13) for six months. We have had an absolutely fantastic experience. This is the first time he has played rugby and he was very warmly welcomed into the club. The coaching standards are superb. They do a fantastic job of balancing competitiveness and inclusiveness. Despite being new to the game, my Son always gets a run and the coaches are so positive. They also reinforce the life skills we teach as parents. I just wish I had got him into the SCC earlier!
SCC is a great rugby club. My son Max has been playing there now for five years and loves every minute. In fact, he moved from another rugby club to renew his enjoyment of the game. SCC has the best natural pitches which are beautifully and centrally located at Dempsey. The atmosphere is fun, friendly and determined and centred around the spirit of rugby. I have found good friends amongst the other rugby supporting parent. I am happy to recommend the SCC to any parent.
We have been part of the SCC rugby academy for the last three years as our two girls started as almost novices. I could not have been happier of the support they both received to the level of coaching they are still receiving now!! The commitment from the Mum’s & Dad’s who coach & run the program is outstanding and now they have also brought in additional professional coaches from the Singapore national team so we couldn’t be happier. What truly stands out to me is the integrity of the coaches at each tournament we play at (not all clubs are the same) - they are teaching the kids valuable life lessons about honesty, team spirit while still being able to enjoy rugby while winning games. Nice work guys & girls - we are so happy we joined SCC and our girls love it!!
SCC rugby academy was great..! The activities and training line up are impressive. My son started with them and soon after they started the Girls contact rugby team it got my daughter immediate attention and now both my children are sharing the same interest in the sport which bring the siblings much closer together now then ever. Awesome!!
The club has been amazing. My wife and I never played rugby and are from countries that aren't big rugby countries, yet the club has been able to cultivate our son to grow and learn to love the sport. Fellow parents have also been incredibly warm and welcoming. For our son's group, there is about one coach for every 7-8 players. These volunteer dads are fantastic and take the time to care about each child's development as a player and person.

SCC Rugby Academy displays a mid-range ($$) price indicator, but specific per-session, monthly package, or term fees are not publicly listed. For sports enrichment programmes in Singapore, fees typically range from S$30–80 per session for group coaching, with term-based packages often offering a lower effective rate than pay-per-session arrangements. A one-off trial session, where available, may be priced separately. It is worth asking about any registration or administration fees, whether coaching materials or equipment are included, and whether sibling or multi-programme discounts apply. Confirm the full cost in writing before committing to a term. See the full Sport & Swimming Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Trial or taster sessions are common in sports enrichment programmes and give families a practical way to assess whether the coaching style, group dynamic, and skill level are a good match for their child. Contact SCC Rugby Academy directly to ask whether a trial session is offered, its cost, and what it covers — some academies include a brief skills assessment as part of the first session. When attending a trial, observe whether the coach communicates clearly with players at your child's age and ability level, how the session is structured, and whether the group size allows for adequate individual attention. This is especially useful if your child has had little prior exposure to rugby. If a formal trial is not available, ask whether you can observe an existing session before enrolling.
Coaching credentials are not publicly listed for SCC Rugby Academy. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether coaches hold World Rugby-recognised qualifications such as the World Rugby Coaching Certificate (Level 1 or above), and whether any coaches have playing or coaching experience at club or representative level in Singapore or abroad. For youth rugby specifically, it is also worth confirming whether coaches hold a current safeguarding or child protection certification, which is standard practice for reputable youth sports programmes in Singapore. If this information is not readily available on the academy's website or social channels, ask directly before enrolment — any established programme should be willing to share its coaching credentials.
