Parents looking to enrol a child should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the programme aligns with the MOE primary or secondary mathematics curriculum, or extends into competition mathematics. It is worth asking whether classes are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a term. Clarify the term structure, any materials fees, and whether lessons are held exclusively at the Serangoon Central centre or if online options exist for continuity during school holidays or illness.
To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's level and to arrange a trial class before signing up for a full term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Seriously Addictive Mathematics (Serangoon) My son joined Ms Aveline’s classes in July 2023, when he was halfway through Primary 5. At that time, his Math results were averaging around 60. At a churchmate’s recommendation, we decided to try Seriously Addictive Mathematics (Serangoon), and we are very glad we did. Under Ms Aveline’s guidance, my son’s results improved and got AL3 for PSLE. After his PSLE, we were happy to learn that the centre started lower secondary classes, and my son (now Sec 2) continue his tuition with Ms Aveline. Since then, he has been scoring 85 and above consistently in Sec 1. Beyond the good results, we are most thankful for the newfound confidence my son now has in Math. It’s truly a blessing to find a tuition centre that works for your child — because honestly, that doesn’t happen every day. Ms Aveline is also very responsible and committed. During exam periods, she tailors the lessons and even provides extra sessions, which have been extremely helpful. Highly recommend SAM Serangoon and Ms Aveline to parents looking for both results and confidence-building in Math.
As a parent, I feel immense gratitude towards Teacher Aveline for the role she has played in my children’s lives. She guided both of them to achieve AL1 in Mathematics for their PSLE, but what truly touched me was that she never saw them as just students chasing results. She consistently showed sincere care for their mental and emotional well-being, often taking the initiative to check in, listen, and encourage them during moments of stress or self-doubt. As a parent, it gave me great comfort knowing my children were under the care of a teacher who taught not only with clarity and excellence, but with genuine heart. Teacher Aveline made a lasting difference, and that is something my family will always be thankful for.
Ms Aveline Tan is a very good Mathematics Tutor. My girl was under her guidance for Primary 5 and 6. It was indeed my girl's loss that we had only gotten to know about Ms Aveline's tuition centre - Seriously Addicted Mathematics - much later. Although Ms Aveline Tan may look stern, she is actually very friendly and approachable. She may look stern during lesson, but she is very good in teaching Mathematics according to each individual student's learning curve. She knows every student well - their strong and weakness areas. Hence, she does an extra mile by sharing, almost after every lesson, with the much weaker in Mathematics student's parent(s) on how to help or provide guidance at home to the child. Also, she would update the parent(s) about the student's progress as well as anything to pay special attention. All these aforementioned traits are, especially the last one - not every tutor would do for the student's progress or wellness. Usually, in most tuition centres, once the lesson ends - to each its own, own time own target! Most tutors would only respond when a parent queried. But, it is not the case for Ms Aveline. She is proactive in her teaching. Despite Ms Aveline Tan might look very firm and strict during teaching, my girl still loved her because Ms Aveline was very clear in her explanation. In fact, Ms Aveline Tan is a very patient tutor. If there is a need, she would run a quick recap of the most often forgotten mathematics concept again so that student(s) could catch up. Actually, Ms Aveline Tan is not as "stern" as what she looks like she would be!! Being firm is good, so that the students know where to draw the lines between when to be serious and when to have fun. I am so glad that my girl had been under Ms Aveline Tan's guidance in her last two most important primary school years! It is really a pity that she does not teach Secondary level! 😖 Or else, I would have continue to sign my girl in Ms Aveline Tan's class for her Secondary School! 😊
My son joined the centre under Teacher Aveline when he was midway through Primary 5. At that time, he had a strong phobia of both Maths and Science and was struggling significantly in these subjects. Teacher Aveline invested a great deal of time, patience, and effort in guiding him through his PSLE journey. With her dedication and support, his results improved from a D7 to a B4, which is a huge achievement for him and for us as parents. More importantly, he has become much more confident in attempting and answering questions, which has made a big difference in his learning attitude. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. It is truly rare to find such a committed and caring teacher, and we feel incredibly blessed to have found Teacher Aveline. Thank you, Teacher Aveline!
We are so grateful for Teacher Aveline. Under her guidance, not only has my son has excelled in maths, but he has also started to genuinely enjoy solving maths problems. Her care and attention go far beyond the weekly lessons — she understands each child’s needs and encourages them in such a thoughtful, patient way. Thank you, Teacher Aveline, for making such a positive difference in my son’s learning and confidence!

Many mathematics enrichment centres in Singapore offer a trial class — sometimes at a reduced fee or at the standard per-session rate — before parents commit to a full term. A trial is a useful opportunity to observe whether the teaching pace and style suit your child, whether the level is appropriately challenging, and whether your child is engaged throughout the session. When attending a trial, pay attention to how the tutor handles questions, how the class size affects individual attention, and whether the syllabus aligns with your child's school curriculum or broader mathematical goals. Ask Seriously Addictive Mathematics directly whether a trial class is available and what it costs.
Specific tutor credentials — such as NIE or MOE teaching experience, degree qualifications, or years of classroom practice — were not provided in this listing. For a mathematics enrichment programme, relevant signals include familiarity with the MOE primary or secondary mathematics syllabus, experience with the specific level your child is at, and any background in competition mathematics if that is your goal. It is reasonable to ask the centre directly about the qualifications and teaching experience of the tutor who will be assigned to your child's class, and whether curriculum alignment with MOE syllabuses is a core part of their methodology. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
