About SG Clinic Family Practice Serangoon Gardens

About SG Clinic Family Practice Serangoon Gardens

SG Clinic Family Practice Serangoon Gardens is a general practice clinic located at 84 Serangoon Garden Way, serving patients across Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or MOH Healthcare Services Licence has been confirmed in the provider data. The clinic holds a 2.6/5 rating across 64 Google reviews — a moderate sample that warrants careful reading of individual reviews before booking. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range level on a per-visit basis.

Patients typically contact the clinic by phone to confirm current opening hours, waiting times, and whether the GP accepts walk-ins or prefers same-day appointments. For straightforward consultations, the standard pathway is a direct walk-in or call-ahead visit; for specialist referrals or subsidised care at a public hospital Specialist Outpatient Clinic, a GP letter from the clinic can facilitate the referral and reduce waiting costs. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, subject to the S$500–700 annual withdrawal limits. Patients with Integrated Shield Plans should confirm whether the clinic bills directly or requires self-payment with subsequent reimbursement.

Call the clinic directly on the listed phone number to confirm current consultation hours, appointment availability, and accepted payment modes before making your way down.

I had a good experience at this clinic. I made the appointment online and was attended to in good time for my respiratory infection. Friendly receptionist and doctor who took the trouble to actually listen to my chest for more than a second. The meds he prescribed were just right - he said I did not need stronger versions - and within a few hours I began to feel better. Will recommend, and go again if need arises.

Set an appointment at 12pm online. Received a call from the receptionist at 11am to ‘come soon’ because the doctor will leave early today. I even checked to confirm - my appointment is at 12pm. I need to reach soon? She said yes. I quickly got up to leave and arrived before 11.15am. I registered and the receptionist even acknowledged that she recognises my name as I was just called. It’s 12.15pm and I still haven’t seen the doctor, with people who arrived after me going in before me. No apologies whatsoever when I checked with the same receptionist where I was in line (far back, of course) :)

Do not go to this clinic. My daughter went to this clinic for her annual flu jab. She was charged the flu vaccine and an extra consultation. When asked why there is a consultation charge, they said it depends on the doctor and that she wasn’t a regular. How ridiculous, you should not charge if there is no consultation given, not whether you are regular or not. The Malay receptionist was very rude and even shouted whether we threatened to report this to MoM. She reluctantly refunded the charge when we went to the clinic to reason this with her.

Doctor is nice but a terrible miser especially if you are covered by company insurance. He refused to prescribe me the more expensive medicine and told me my company doesn’t allow medication which are too expensive and told me to get it in the pharmacy if I want it. I have been to other company panel clinics and they have all given me these medication. Besides the bill will be paid by the insurance company not my company.

I’ve been a regular patient at SG Clinic Family Practice, and I must say Dr. Suresh Mahtani is truly excellent — knowledgeable, kind, and always welcoming with a warm smile. His professionalism and bedside manner are the main reasons I keep returning. However, I echo what many others have already pointed out: the front desk staff consistently leave a bad impression. They are unfriendly, never smile, and interact as if they’re being forced to be there. It’s disheartening to be met with such coldness before even seeing the doctor. A warm and welcoming front desk makes all the difference, and unfortunately, that’s always been lacking here. The contrast between Dr. Mahtani’s care and the attitude of the staff is stark — he deserves better support at the front line of his clinic.

Is SG Clinic Family Practice Serangoon Gardens MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration has been confirmed in the available data for this listing. Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore is required to hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act, verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must also appear on the SMC public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. Patients are strongly advised to verify both the clinic's MOH licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration before booking an appointment. Neither confirmation alone is sufficient — both should be checked. Contact the clinic directly to request these details if they are not displayed on-site or on the clinic's website.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at SG Clinic Family Practice Serangoon Gardens?

MediSave can be used at approved outpatient GP clinics for consultations under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, stroke, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, subject to S$500–700 annual withdrawal limits. Not all GP clinics are CDMP-approved — confirm with the clinic directly whether MediSave claims are accepted for your condition. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover inpatient admissions and selected day surgery rather than routine GP visits, though some plans offer outpatient riders. Confirm your plan's terms with your insurer before the visit. For any planned procedure, request a written financial estimate itemising insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before proceeding.
