About Shanah Medical Clinic

About Shanah Medical Clinic

Shanah Medical Clinic is a general practice clinic located at Blk 633 Veerasamy Road, serving residents in the Little India and Farrer Park area. KakiList has verified operating details and the contact channel. The clinic holds a 3.2/5 rating across 38 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, though the rating sits below the typical range for well-regarded GP practices and is worth bearing in mind. No regulatory licences, including an MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration for the named doctor, have been confirmed in the listing data at this time.

For a first visit to a GP clinic, patients typically walk in or call ahead to check queue availability. A standard consultation covers presenting symptoms, a clinical examination, prescriptions where indicated, and referral to a polyclinic or specialist if the condition warrants it. Patients wishing to use Medisave for chronic disease management under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — covering conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidaemia — should confirm whether the clinic is enrolled in the CDMP before attending. Integrated Shield Plan coverage generally does not apply to outpatient GP visits unless the plan includes an outpatient rider.

To make an appointment or check walk-in queue times, contact Shanah Medical Clinic directly by phone using the number listed on this page. Listing data is incomplete — contact Shanah Medical Clinic directly to confirm details.

It was a really bad experience. The place was very small and crowded, and there were people everywhere. The doctor was very unprofessional. During the blood test, she couldn’t find my vein and ended up stabbing me three times. The whole place was noisy and chaotic.

The staff here plays with your mental health. They don't value your time, patients aren't treated respectfully, crowd management is the worst, long delays, long queues and POOREST communication.

I tried to collect my report via WhatsApp, but no one replied. I also tried to call them — they picked up five times but still didn’t send the report. I’m really fed up with the service. Before payment, they were very responsive, but after payment, their attitude completely changed. They promised to send the report by 4:30 PM but failed to keep that promise. They also didn’t provide the doctor’s letter, which is required by ICA — it seems they really don’t care about anything. It’s better to go to a proper clinic unless you’re strictly budget-conscious. If you’re okay with spending a bit more, choose a better one.

The reception made us wait at the counter for 10 minutes, didn't even acknowledge us or answer our questions which we asked in English. We were totally ignored, another group of customers came by who spoke Mandarin and she attended to them immediately while still ignoring us. This was a blatant act of racism and discrimination. Please do not go to this clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Shanah Medical Clinic charge?

GP consultation fees at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, covering the consultation itself. Common add-ons billed separately include medications and prescriptions, investigations such as a blood panel (S$60–200), urine tests, or a blood pressure monitoring device, and any dressings or minor procedures carried out during the visit. GST applies on private medical services. For Singapore Citizens and PRs with a polyclinic or GP referral letter, subsidised Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOC) visits at public hospitals run S$30–80 after subsidy, though non-urgent waits are typically 4–12 weeks. Shanah Medical Clinic's specific fee schedule has not been confirmed in the listing — call ahead to ask about consultation rates, CDMP enrolment, and any applicable CHAS subsidies before attending. Is Shanah Medical Clinic MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic in Singapore holds an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor is listed on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, any specialist accreditation, and disciplinary history. No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or SMC registration has been confirmed in the listing data for Shanah Medical Clinic. This is a material gap. Before attending, verify the clinic's MOH licence on the MOH licensee directory and confirm the consulting doctor's name on the SMC register. Both checks take under five minutes and are strongly recommended, particularly if you intend to claim Medisave or submit an insurance receipt.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Shanah Medical Clinic?

MediSave can be used at enrolled GP clinics for outpatient treatment under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, stroke, asthma, COPD, and selected mental health conditions, up to S$500–700 per year depending on the withdrawal limits that apply. Not all GP clinics are CDMP-enrolled — confirm this with Shanah Medical Clinic before your visit if you intend to use MediSave. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally do not cover outpatient GP visits unless you hold a specific outpatient rider. Keep receipts itemising consultation fees, investigation costs, and prescriptions separately, as insurers and Medisave claims require itemised documentation. For any planned procedure or investigation, request a written cost estimate in advance so you know the out-of-pocket portion before committing.
