About Shichida Singapore

About "Shichida Singapore"

Shichida Singapore is an enrichment class provider operating islandwide, with a centre at HDB Hub East Wing in Toa Payoh. The listing is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It holds a Google rating of 3.5 out of 5 across 88 reviews — a moderate sample size that offers a reasonable directional signal, though prospective families should read individual reviews carefully before drawing firm conclusions. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific session or monthly fees are not publicly listed.

Families considering Shichida Singapore would typically begin by enquiring about programme suitability for their child's age and developmental stage, as the Shichida Method is structured around early childhood brain development and is generally offered in age-banded groups. It is worth confirming which levels are currently available, whether classes run in groups or on a one-to-one basis, the term commitment required, and whether a trial class is offered before enrolment. The centre is accessible via public transport given its location within HDB Hub, which is directly above Toa Payoh MRT station. Parents should also ask about materials fees and any additional costs beyond the headline class fee.

To take the next step, contact Shichida Singapore directly by phone or via their enquiry form to ask about current availability, class schedules for your child's age group, and whether a trial session can be arranged before committing to a term.

I submitted a deposit and class cancel refund form on 18 Dec 2025 after The Shichida Centerpoint centre closed. The centre informed refund would be processed by HQ, but until today it has not been received and emails/WhatsApp are not responding. When the refund will pay?

The center implemented an increase in fees by introducing material charges without prior notification. During one term, no materials were provided for students to take home since there was no material fees. Several experienced teachers have left, which impacted the class quality. Our last class was in March, and the deposit has not yet been returned. There has been no update or report from the admin to date.

After 1 term, the management suddenly decided to increase the term fees by adding the so called materials fees, it’s an extra $145. The so called materials are their Shichida cards which I already have for my elder child, and they didn’t consult me whether I needed it. Next I expected the worksheets which my elder daughter was working on when she was there in year 2020 to 2021 and the teachers would collect and mark them. For my younger daughter, they only gave the worksheet in the second month and didn’t give anymore. The poems section was not taken seriously, my child prepared for the poem recital but there wasn’t any chance for the children to recite unlike my elder daughter who got the chance to recite. A lot of the Shichida experience were not delivered up to standards and yet they are increasing the fees by adding materials fees which was already supposed to be part of the curriculum.

Highly recommend Teacher Kat!! My son has been attending her lessons for almost 4 years now. She is very passionate and experienced, she makes every lesson fun and engaging. She goes the extra mile to decorate the classroom, giving out gifts during festive seasons and even little golden man trophies after children completing their recitations. My son improves tremendously under her care. The front desk staffs are super friendly too. Greet us warmly and even remember my son’s name! We look forward to attend the Shichida Method lesson every week!

We attended the IFC Akarui opened by the Shichida Founder, with promise of shichida lessons, food nutritional to the brain, Japanese lessons etc. School fee was at 2700/ month. But shichida class was only conducted when my child was 5 months in the school. Their so called food for brain development is no difference from other childcare food. Not long after, the center announced it would be closing down. We noticed good teachers are fired (but we were told they resign 1 by 1) and in replacement the school took in auntie to take care of the infants. There were no classes conducted, they literally conducted a few lessons of shichida class before they decided to close the place down and took away the classes. Babies were left crying incessantly, and when we arrived and waved at the babies, they stopped crying momentarily and the auntie came out saying "wow you guys finally stop crying". For a premium IFC under shichida specialising in brain development, they offered screen on ipad for the babies to watch. They hid it in the bookshelves, but we noticed the babies gathering around the area. On our arrival, the auntie quickly placed down the ipad and put the tissue over it. The Japanese teacher was thankfully still around but very overworked because most teachers are gone. It was a horrid experience for the premium price paid. Really horrid management / founder who priced profit over the babies. This experience has really scarred me as a mother, and I really regretted leaving my such young baby under their charge Leaving the review here though my child is now 33 months old. She was in the IFC from 3 month to almost 12 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Shichida Singapore" charge per session?

Shichida Singapore displays a mid-range pricing tier ($$) on its listing, but specific per-session or monthly package fees are not publicly stated. Enrichment classes in Singapore of this type typically run on a monthly or termly basis rather than strictly per-session, and the overall cost depends on the programme level and class frequency. Beyond the base class fee, it is worth asking about registration fees, materials or workbook charges, and whether any sibling or package discounts apply. Trial class availability and pricing should also be confirmed directly, as policies vary. See the full enrichment classes cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many enrichment providers in Singapore offer a trial class so families can assess fit before signing up for a full term. It is advisable to ask Shichida Singapore directly whether a trial is available, what the trial fee (if any) is, and how it is structured. During a trial, look at how the child responds to the teaching pace and format, whether the level is appropriate, and whether the teaching style matches your child's learning temperament. The Shichida Method involves specific exercises designed to stimulate right-brain activity, so observing how these are delivered in practice gives a clearer picture than marketing materials alone. If a trial is not offered, ask whether you can observe a class or speak with current parents before committing.

What are the tutors' credentials at "Shichida Singapore"?

Shichida Singapore operates under the Shichida Method, a structured early childhood education approach originating from Japan. Instructors at licensed Shichida centres are typically trained and certified through the Shichida organisation itself, rather than through NIE or MOE pathways, as this is a proprietary enrichment methodology rather than mainstream academic tuition. Specific instructor qualifications, years of teaching experience, and the depth of Shichida-specific training are not listed publicly. It is reasonable to ask the centre directly about instructor certification, how new teachers are trained, and how quality is maintained across classes. If alignment with the Singapore MOE syllabus is a priority, clarify this upfront, as Shichida programmes focus on holistic early development rather than curriculum-specific exam preparation.
