Families considering a nursing home placement typically begin with a care needs assessment covering the elder's mobility level, medical conditions, cognitive status, and personal care requirements. It is worth clarifying what level of nursing care is provided on-site — whether registered nurses are present around the clock, which therapy services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) are embedded in the daily programme, and how residents with dementia or complex medical needs are supported. Families should also ask about the room configuration options (single, twin, or ward-style), visiting hours, meal arrangements, and how the home communicates with family members about the resident's condition and progress.
To take the next step, contact Singapore Christian Home by phone or via the enquiry form to request a fee schedule, arrange a facility visit, and discuss whether the level of care available matches your family member's current and anticipated needs.
Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
This morning I had a good meeting with the home representatives Vani. She was very helpful and encouraging to our situation. We were so stressed with our mum health conditions and stay at the home while we were also having financial issues at home. She give us a good listening ear and being very patient and understanding on the difficulties we are having now. She really make a great social worker without a single doubt. We hope more people would enjoy her guidance and blessing. 🙏 Amen

SINGAPORE CHRISTIAN HOME Before sending my aged aunt to Singapore Christian Home (SCHome), I have been praying hard that she can be accepted as a Resident in the Home (which I selected it as my First Choice), as it's near to where we're residing and I can make an attempt to visit her everyday. We felt so lucky when Ms Claire Chin (SCHome) called and informed me within a week after my Application that there is a bed space to accommodate my aunt in the Home. I personally like the environment of SCHome as it's a straight forward Building (not complicated as other Nursing Homes by going around to search for the Wards) and uniquely clean with well maintenance. I have no regrets in making the right decision to place my aunt in SCHome as I believe she'll be well taken care of. My aunt (a Resident of SCHome since 11 January 2024) is happy staying there (Level 4) as she has a lot of Guardian Angels (Staffs, Nurses and Assistant Physiotherapist) who cheer and brighten her days by cleaning, bathing, tube-feeding, exercising, chit-chating, fighting (ha..ha..) to shower her daily with their professional loving tender care respectively. Believe not only those Staffs and Nurses of Level 4 deserve my credit, but all your other Level Staffs and Nurses, they also deserve a "thumb up" for their great sacrifices and delicated times in looking after the elderly, the children, the sick and vulnerable. KUDOS to everyone up there in Singapore Christian Home..keep up your good works and may God shower His Blessings upon each one of you with good health always and may your Nursing Career endeavour thereof. FIGHTING..FIGHTING (加油.. 加油) Warmest Regards Joanne Sim (Niece of Mary CG Sim)
Visited the home today. Ms Foo Chuan Wan attended to me for my mum pre enrolment interview and arrangements . She is so polite and patient with all my request and maybe a little demanding expectation. She is truly very professional amd I'm so grateful for her kind assistance. Thank you Chuan Wan and God Bless you and your loved ones.Thank you so much.
When I came here during community work, it is the best part of the estate since we got to know some people who lived at nursing homes. It is a peaceful place.

Singapore Christian Home does not publish a detailed fee schedule publicly, so families should contact the home directly to obtain current rates. As a general guide, nursing home fees in Singapore typically range from S$1,500 to S$4,500 per month depending on room type (single, twin, or ward) and the level of nursing care required. Agency fees are not applicable for direct nursing home admission, but one-time registration or assessment fees may apply. MediShield Life and MediFund can help offset costs for eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) administers means-tested subsidies that can reduce fees substantially for lower-income households. Families should ask the home's admissions team about the subsidy application process at the point of enquiry. Note that public holiday surcharges and additional therapy or medical consumables may be billed separately. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →
Singapore Christian Home operates as a residential nursing home, meaning residents live on-site on a full-time basis rather than receiving visit-based care at home. This makes it most suitable for elders who require round-the-clock nursing supervision, personal care, or who can no longer be safely supported in a home environment. Families should clarify the scope of care provided — including nursing procedures, medication management, physiotherapy, and dementia-specific programmes — and ask whether a trial admission period is available before committing to long-term placement. It is also worth asking about the process should a resident's care needs change significantly during their stay, and whether the home has a clear escalation pathway to acute hospital care when required. A replacement or transfer policy is not applicable in the same way as agency-placed caregivers, but families should understand the notice period required if they wish to discharge a resident.
Nursing homes operating in Singapore are required to comply with Ministry of Health (MOH) regulations, which set staffing ratio standards and care quality requirements. Registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and care staff at licensed nursing homes are expected to hold relevant qualifications recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board or the Allied Health Professions Council, depending on their role. However, no regulatory licences are currently listed in Singapore Christian Home's KakiList profile — families are strongly advised to verify the home's MOH licensing status directly with the Ministry of Health or the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) before proceeding with admission. Ask the home's admissions team for their MOH licence number and confirm it on the MOH public register. Professional indemnity and public liability insurance should also be confirmed at the point of enquiry.
