Prospective students or parents should enquire about level and syllabus fit before enrolling, as the troupe's arts-focused programmes likely span different disciplines and age groups. It is worth asking whether a trial class is available, what the format is — group sessions versus individual instruction — and whether enrolment is on a term-based or monthly commitment. Clarify whether classes are conducted on-site at Toa Payoh or at other islandwide locations, and confirm whether any materials or costume fees apply on top of the stated class fee.
To get started, reach out via phone or the online enquiry form to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and trial class options before committing to a full term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My kids have been attending the speech and drama classes here for the last 2 years and it's really improved their Chinese oracy. The classes are fun and engaging, and offered at reasonable prices. My son in particular showed marked improvement in his confidence to speak Mandarin after just the first few months of class. The teachers create a supportive environment where the children feel comfortable practicing and performing. It's been wonderful to see both my kids grow not just in their language skills, but also in their overall confidence. Highly recommend these classes for anyone looking to boost their child's Chinese speaking abilities in an enjoyable way!
It's culturally significant however the school building and facilities really require an upgrade. It's a minor pain every Saturday when we encounter other inconsiderate driver who drops in the middle of the drive way in car just to drop off their kid. Pls just drive in further before dropping off so you don't block other drivers coming into the car park.
The teachers are caring and sincere. They are firm yet gentle to the students. They don’t just give in to the students whims and they are very nurturing. Kid has been enjoying her class.
Both my daughters attended Chinese Enrichment lesson since they were young. Thus they had built a good foundation in their Chinese. I am very thankful to all the teachers who are very committed and caring to their teaching of their students.
Place of great heritage and culture. Unfortunately, carpark is too small and chaotic when parents pick their children.

A trial is a practical way to assess whether the teaching style suits the learner and whether the class level is appropriate. During the trial, observe how the instructor engages with students, whether the pace matches your child's current ability, and how the group dynamic is managed. For performing arts classes in particular, it is worth noting whether the curriculum builds progressively across terms. Confirm with Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts Troupe directly whether a trial class is available and what the associated cost is.
