About Singapore Red Cross ElderAid
Singapore Red Cross ElderAid is an eldercare service operating islandwide from its Commonwealth Drive base, providing elderly caregiver support across Singapore. The listing is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It holds a 4.5-star rating from 33 Google reviews, a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. No specific regulatory licence is recorded on this listing, which is worth confirming directly given that clinical home-care services in Singapore typically require AIC or MOH registration.
Families exploring care support for an elderly parent or relative would typically begin with a needs assessment covering the senior's mobility, medical conditions, cognitive status, and daily living requirements. From there, the scope of engagement — whether visit-based care, companionship, personal hygiene assistance, or more clinical nursing support — can be matched to the appropriate service tier. It is worth clarifying whether carers hold relevant nursing or caregiving certifications, whether dementia-specific training is available, and what happens if a regular carer is unavailable. Hours required per day or week, and whether live-in or visit-based arrangements are on offer, are key questions to raise early.
To take the next step, contact Singapore Red Cross ElderAid by phone or through the enquiry form to arrange a care assessment and discuss the scope, schedule, and cost of support for your family's situation.
Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
My wife and I are compassionate volunteers for SRC but during a visit to volunteer on the morning of 24/07 a brazenly rude security guard stationed there loudly berated her during her registration process. Unfortunately this was far from the end of the ordeal, he then confronted my wife loudly again berating her and accusing her of never registering despite it being done in front of him that very morning accusing "Did you do it when I was sleeping!?". This garnered quite the audience and another volunteer was also shocked at his rash behaviour. Despite the niceties of those housed and working here, the behaviour of this security guard was so malicious which will be followed up with a formal complaint to his agency.

Specific pricing for Singapore Red Cross ElderAid is not publicly listed, and fees will depend on the type and frequency of care required. As a general guide, visit-based eldercare in Singapore typically runs from S$20–40 per hour for personal care or companionship, with live-in arrangements carrying separate daily or monthly rates that include agency coordination costs and, where applicable, caregiver insurance. Additional costs to clarify include public holiday surcharges, transport allowances, and whether any means-tested subsidy assistance is available through the provider. The listing does not specify whether Singapore Red Cross ElderAid offers live-in arrangements, visit-based care, or both — this should be confirmed directly. Visit-based care typically covers a set number of hours per day and suits seniors who are relatively independent but need assistance with bathing, meals, medication reminders, or mobility. Live-in arrangements provide continuous presence and are more appropriate for seniors with advanced dementia or high medical dependency. A trial period of one to two weeks is common in eldercare and allows both the family and the carer to assess compatibility before committing to a longer arrangement. Ask about the replacement policy if a carer proves unsuitable or unavailable at short notice.
No regulatory licences are recorded for Singapore Red Cross ElderAid in this listing. For clinical home-care services, providers are expected to be registered with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) or hold relevant MOH recognition — families should confirm this directly before engaging. For caregiving roles, relevant credentials include the Workforce Skills Qualification in Community and Social Services, dementia-specific training (such as Dementia Singapore's programmes), and basic nursing skills for higher-dependency care. Ask whether carers carry personal accident insurance and whether the organisation holds public liability coverage that protects against incidents occurring in the client's home.
