About Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT)

About Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT)

Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) is a performing arts organisation offering holiday camp programmes for young people, operating island-wide from its base at 20 Merbau Road. It is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. On Google it holds a 4.4/5 rating across 302 reviews, a robust sample that lends reasonable weight to that score.

When enquiring about a holiday camp place, it is worth confirming which camp best fits your child's age group, experience level, and interest — whether that is drama, musical theatre, or another performing arts discipline. Camps typically run in school holiday periods, so places fill quickly; check whether the programme is structured as a short intensive block or a multi-week format, and clarify whether materials, costumes, or script packs are included in the fee or charged separately. Group sizes and the student-to-facilitator ratio are worth asking about, particularly for younger participants. If your child has no prior stage experience, confirm that the camp is designed for beginners as well as those with a background in performance.

To take the next step, contact SRT directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their website to check current holiday camp schedules, confirm age-group eligibility, and ask about trial or taster sessions before committing to a full programme.

Very disappointed in SRT. I booked tickets to their recent play in November, only to get a rude shock on the day itself that the venue stated on the ticket was wrong! This meant that i had rushed my dinner and travel plans only to show up at a venue that was screening another performance. At the end of the day, i didnt even find out where the play really was!!! I ended up paying for a play that I never watched. To make things worse, there was no point of contact. The SRT office was closed, so i left a voice message. I also wrote an email with picture proof but it has been a whole working week and I have heard nothing. Am feeling appalled by the whole lack of professionalism and accountability right now. Beware.

Excellent simple small theatre that hosts small production. Came here for the children’s classic story of three little pigs. They did a wonderful job expanding on the characters. Especially the big bad wolf, definitely knocked it out of the park with its breaking the fourth wall performance. Bravo!

Decent event space With Sullivan for Art SG 2026

This location is actually hard to find as it was between construction sites. For Art SG week, they host special exhibitions there free of charge, an intimate space, worth seeing if you are new National Art Gallery and fancy seeing various art around the city.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) charge per session?

SRT holiday camps are typically priced as block programmes rather than individual sessions, so the relevant figure is the total camp fee for the full run of days. Fees vary depending on the programme, age group, and duration of the camp. It is worth asking whether the quoted price covers all materials, and whether a sibling discount or early-bird rate applies. Some camps may charge a separate registration or administrative fee on top of the programme cost. Confirm what is included before booking. See the full Holiday Camps cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Holiday camps at SRT are typically structured as short intensive blocks, which means the format is somewhat different from a drop-in trial class at a regular enrichment centre. It is worth asking SRT directly whether a taster session, open day, or partial-day option is available before you commit to the full camp. When assessing fit, consider whether the camp level matches your child's prior experience in drama or performance, and whether the facilitator's teaching style suits your child's personality and learning pace. A brief campus visit or a conversation with the programme coordinator can help set expectations before payment.

What are the tutors' credentials?

SRT is an established performing arts company in Singapore with a track record in professional theatre production and youth education programmes. Camp facilitators are typically practitioners with experience in drama, theatre direction, or performing arts education, though specific qualifications vary by programme and facilitator. It is advisable to ask SRT directly about the background of the lead facilitator for the specific camp your child is joining — including their experience working with the relevant age group and their approach to ensemble and performance training. SRT's Google rating of 4.4/5 across 302 reviews suggests broadly positive participant and parent experiences.
