My first ever time visiting OCH, both times this month. It was a very good experience, probably my best experience at any community hospital so far as a visitor. The beds are spaced apart well so patients do not feel too constrained. The visiting hours are fantastic, accommodating a wide range 8am to 10pm. Pre-registration makes it seamless for easy entry and exit. Staff especially the nurses but also the ground level staff are all so professional, patient, and family. Thank you for making a positive difference 🙏🏻

I visited a loved one at Outram Community Hospital and was very impressed by the overall environment and care provided. The hospital is clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating a calm and welcoming space for both patients and visitors. Carpark is also well organized with sufficient parking lots. What stood out most was the professionalism and warmth of the staff — from nurses to therapists to admin personnel. Everyone was patient, respectful, and genuinely caring in how they interacted with the patients. It gave me a lot of reassurance seeing my loved one so well looked after. Facilities were well-maintained given its newly opened as well and visiting hours were managed smoothly. There are also great amenities - Koufu food court, POSB ATM, AXS machine, starbucks, Koi, and a pharmacy. Pretty decent for a community hospital. A great example of community healthcare done right unlike some others i have visited. Thank you to the team at Outram Community Hospital for your dedication and compassion.

This is a relatively new Community Hospital for recuperation and recovery. The hospital is spacious and has ample parking space located at basement 3&4. The entrance to the carpark is a bit obscure and is located immediately to the left of the entrance to the hospital. The lobby of the hospital was very windy and cool at night

The Indian guy that registers visitors is quite rude and insufferable. Please replace him. Don't disrespect visitors asking questions as they are new and don't know the rules. There is also a Malay and Chinese lady at the card scan area who are rude to visitors as well and the malay lady in particular loves to vent her frustrations at times. Replace these people with more professional people that are respectful.

My dad was hospitalised at OCH Ward 11C from 11 to 17 Feb 2023 due to breathlessness and giddiness. It was 2nd day of Lunar New Year but thankful the A&E doctor attended to my dad swiftly and he was allocated a bed within 2 hours or so. OCH was built in 2019 so the building and facilities are relatively new. There is a link bridge connecting from SGH to OCH. Ward 11 is located on 2nd highest floor so the bed that my dad had has a view facing Pinnacle@Duxton. The ward is air-conditioned (with individual fan) though it is only class C. The ward is cleaned and spacious, with 5 patients. The meals and fruits provided seem appetising. There is a food court on level 2 with starbucks and subway on ground floor. There are also a small NTUC, Medical equipment shop, ATM machines and sandwich machine on the ground floor. Did not notice any vending machine available but in the ward there is a hot and cold water dispenser. OCH is nearby National Heart Centre so it is accessible either to take SGH Blue shuttlebus from Outram MRT or about 7mins walk from the bus stop. Getting a taxi at the taxi stand is not easy unless try walking to the main road, else will need to call. The nurses in the ward are mostly friendly and patient. With special thanks to a male nurse, Mr Jing Han Lin. He has eyes for details and has reminded his fellow nurses to apply the skin lotions and cream that my dad needs to apply daily without us requesting as I thought I could do it for my dad whenever I visit him. He would frequently check on the patients and assist them with good humour. His fellow nurses on duty often helped out each other and could feel the great team spirit they all share. Nurse Jing would update me my dad's progress whenever I visit and will pass my messages to the doctor promptly as I did not get to meet the doctors most of the time when I was there. The doctors seem only make their rounds in the morning around 9-10am. In the afternoons when I was there, I have only met Dr Cheong briefly once. The investigations done by the doctors were thorough but progress rather slow. At times, the morning doctor would call to update me what tests they are going to do for my dad. Twice my dad was told that he could be discharged but the doctors decided against it last minute as they realised more checks needed. After a week's stay, the hospital has finally agreed to discharge my dad and to follow up as outpatient thereafter. On the day of discharge, I have received a phone call from SGH pharmacy. The staff was surprised that the doctor did not call me first (I did not get to speak to any doctor in fact that day). She counselled me about dad's medication and arranged for the medicines to be sent to the ward in less than an hour, saving me the hazzle to walk all the way to pharmacy which is quite a distance to OCH. All in all, with heart felt thanks to all the staff, nurses and doctors who have done their best for my dad and other patients. It was my dad's first hospitalisation stay in his 76 years, hopefully he will not be required to return again. P/s: What a sweet surprise! Since 2 weeks plus after my dad's discharge, today I received a call from the OCH Ward 11C asking how my dad has been coping since discharged. Really heart warming as this is the first time I have received such follow up call from hospital ward ❤️
