I’d like to compliment Ms Rafhanah from Counter H for her excellent care and professionalism. I’m someone who gets very anxious when having blood taken, and it’s usually not an easy process for me. However, Ms Rafhanah was calm, composed, and very reassuring throughout. She skillfully took my blood with ease, which is rare in my experience. What I appreciated most was how she engaged in a short, friendly conversation that helped distract me and ease my nervousness. Her gentle and confident approach made the whole experience much more comfortable than I expected. Healthcare professionals like Ms Rafhanah truly make a difference for anxious patients. She deserves to be acknowledged for her patience, professionalism, and kindness, and I wanted to take the time to share my appreciation.

It has been some time since I last visited a polyclinic, and I would not have done so if not for the referral required to visit the newly opened Plagiocentre at KKH. I arrived early for my appointment, which was scheduled for 12:05 PM, and completed my registration promptly. However, by 12:40 PM, there were still seven patients ahead of me in the queue. As I had not prepared my baby’s lunch and needed to send her to infant care on time, I politely approached the doctor to ask if it was possible to expedite my consultation. The doctor, Imran from Room 253, responded in a manner that I found rude and lacking compassion. Without attempting to understand my situation, he simply said, “Check with the clerk,” followed by, “I know, but my answer is no.” This might sounded normal to some, but it’s the attitude and cold blooded expression that is triggering me. I understand the difficulty the doctors are facing in polyclinic but come on show some respect and empathy.

Low rating purely for the uncompassionate staffs who sit in the Care Coordination rooms 240, 242, 260, 262. They are the ones who help to arrange future appointments or referrals. No matter the staff, they tend to be rude, barely considerate of patients needs. They can bark at you if you even the knock on the door or push it slightly to check or ask about their queue. Yes there is a sign on the door to wait (and it can be a very long wait sometimes) outside until their number is called, but such behaviour appears to be on repeat, no matter who is in those rooms. They may be occupied with making calls to different clinics or medical institutions to arrange future appointments but they can certainly be more courteous.

Need improvement in the system process - when I registered myself at around 8.20 am, the system showed that there was one patient ahead of me and asked me to be in the clinic. I came at 8.40 am . When i arrived at the clinic there was no patient and I was told by the staff nurse that the staff in charge starts work at 9am. I waited till 9.10 am and I was not called. I knocked on the door (329) and was told by the midwife to wait again as she just logged on the system. About 1-2 minutes, I was called. The midwife Dina is very skillful and the whole procedure took less than 5 min . Prior to the procedure, there was another patient who knocked on the door. Midwife Dina said her appointment was at 9.40 am and commented why she came so early . I told her that it was because the online system keeps showing that there is only one patient in front and we are asked to be in the clinic. My suggestion- please be more transparent by stating the clinic only opens at 9 am and reflect the true situation. No point keep us waiting for 20-30 minutes as it doesn’t give good patient experience.
