This place is weird. We decided to bring our kids there to celebrate an upcoming birthday, we arrived at 9:30am, and bought tickets for the lazy river…about 30mins into having fun, we were suddenly told to leave the waters due to a ‘lightning alert’. It was bright and sunny and cloudless where we were. Many families were astounded from being kicked out of the waters, because the weather still seemed pretty sunny and bright and safe with no signs of rain incoming in the next at least one hour or so. Granted, upon checking the myENV app, there was impending thunderstorms forecasted for the afternoon, and those dark clouds only came after 1pm, after we gave up waiting and decided to go and have lunch at the food court. The families could have enjoyed at least another hour of fun before it started becoming cloudy. It was amusing that the guards would blow their whistle at anyone who even neared the vicinity of the pool’s edge, even when we weren’t attempting to go into the water. Also, I noted that there was a lady guard patrolling up and down the lazy river pool, and she was walking pretty fast up and down, but then, she was told by another guard that she was patrolling too far, and to adjust her patrolling route. After a few rounds around the lazy river observing her patrolling up and down about 10 metres in the hot sun and walking so fast, I felt that this was maybe not needed? We were the only ones in the lazy river (family of four) at that point of time. She looked baked in the hot sun, and I felt sorry for her. I have nothing against the guards on duty, as they’re just doing their job. This is just my observation. I may come back on a separate day, as I do enjoy the free kids pool and lazy river feature.

( Happened at splash and surf public water playground) We brought our kids to use the kids pool. Noticed that security are not doing their job , just listening to the music and enjoying. Saw some of the bigger kids are running towards the pool and diving in the water where there are younger kids in the pool. Some younger kids got bullied by older children ( saw older kids held younger kids' both legs and dragging along the water where one of them almost got drown and helpless) . This is intolerable and acceptable, there are safety lapses involved.Neither security seen it or stopped it. Sad to see some kids were being victim. Parents pls watch out your own kids .

It’s a tiny little water playground but the slides and the option to pay ($2/pax) for the lazy river makes it worthwhile. While crowded, my two kids and I still had lots of fun. Probably cos we went on a Saturday morning amid the National Day activities and the World Aquatic Championship hubbub. The very good upside is there are quite a few life guards to watch over the kids. The downside is there aren’t many shady spots to shelter in and many parents reserve seats. There are also not many food options in the vicinity for kids. We walked up Kallang Leisure Mall instead.

It’s an awesome free (albeit small) splash park with pretty decent facilities. There are benches scattered around but the only sheltered area is between the splash park and lazy river which doesn’t have line of sight on splash park. Lazy river cost $2 per person. You can get wrist band at info centre. Overall a great way to spend the morning with kids and have lunch near by.
