About Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home

About Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home

Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home is a nursing home providing eldercare services at 12 Yishun Avenue 5, Singapore 768992. It holds a 4.3-star rating across 40 Google reviews, which represents a moderate sample size. KakiList has verified the provider's operating details and contact channel. Families considering a nursing home placement would typically begin with a care needs assessment to clarify the resident's mobility, medical, and personal care requirements, as well as any dementia or complex nursing needs. From there, the next steps usually involve contacting the home directly to understand bed availability, room types (single, shared, or ward), and the scope of clinical services offered — including nursing rounds, therapy, and specialist access. It is worth discussing the involvement of multiple family decision-makers early, as nursing home admission often requires collective agreement and documentation. A trial period or short-stay arrangement, where available, can help both the resident and the family assess fit before a long-term commitment is made.

To begin the process, contact Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to request a care assessment appointment and ask about current bed availability.

Dear Mr S. Devendran, I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation and admiration for the exceptional staff at SNM. My mother (Mdm Koh Mee Lee) has been a resident at your facility, and I have been consistently impressed by the kindness, compassion, and dedication of your team. Firstly, I would like to commend the ladies at the front desk for their outstanding service, especially Ms Arsi and Ms Wiah. They are always helpful, friendly, and patient, even when dealing with demanding residents or family members. Their calm and composed demeanor is truly admirable. I would also like to express my gratitude to Nurse Iyal and many other Level 1 nurses who have been taking care of my mother with a loving heart. Despite the language barriers, Nurse Iyal's kindness and compassion have brought joy to my mother's face, and for that, I am truly thankful. Ms. Yoges, the Senior Manager and Senior Social Worker, has been incredibly helpful and understanding, always willing to listen and assist with our needs. Her dedication to the residents and their families is truly commendable. Additionally, I would like to thank Mr. Regu from the IT department for his friendly and helpful assistance with installing a motion detector at my father's place. His patience and expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues with the device have been greatly appreciated. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge the Program Team and Ms Rajaletchumi for their efforts in engaging my mother in various activities. The pictures and videos they send me are always a delight, and I can see the joy and enthusiasm on my mother's face. Please extend my sincerest appreciation to these exceptional staff members for their hard work, dedication, and compassion. They truly make a difference in the lives of the residents and their families. Thank you for leading such an outstanding team. Best regards, Cerina Teo and Irene Teo NOKs of Mdm Koh Mee Lee

Making a donation to a worthy cause should always be a joyful and fulfilling. Unfortunately, it was full of anxiety for me and family. It all began with my online donation and yes, I did receive all the confirmation of my donation in the form of email. I then sent an email to sree narayana on the day itself requesting for more information. After one week, no reply. I then called the hotline who then gave me a mobile number to Ms A. Omg, I felt she was lecturing me how she didn't know there was a donation, if the date I booked online was available, she complained for 3 years to IT that she was not getting the relevant info. She asked me for all the confirmation to be whatsapp her. Here losing my mum awhile ago, trying to fulfil her final wish, I didn't realise such a hassle by this charity. I did as Ms A requested. A few days on, got a confirmation. I would have asked for a refund for the anxiety this Ms A caused me but I resisted because of the vulnerable that we wanted to assist. Going to the venue with trepidation as instructed to be there by 11.45am, we were kept outside the gantry for quite awhile and by 12pm, we were escorted up. According to the whatsapp by Ms A, we were supposed to have 3 covid jabs and fill up a health declaration and only 5 person. None of this was checked as we went on to assist the wonderful healthcare ladies. If we had known, there was no checking, my other family members without 3 jabs would have come. It is so disappointing that making a donation for a worthy cause can cause such a disgusting after affect to me. The back room operation definitely needs a reorganisation. Unfortunately, I will donate elsewhere going forward unless the back office pull up their socks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home charge?

Nursing home fees in Singapore typically comprise a daily or monthly bed rate, which varies by room type (single, twin-sharing, or ward) and the level of nursing care required. Costs generally range from around S$1,500 to S$4,500 or more per month before subsidies. Additional charges may apply for incontinence supplies, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, specialist consultations, and medications. Subsidies through the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) can significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who meet means-testing criteria. It is advisable to request a full fee schedule and a breakdown of what is bundled versus billed separately before admission. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home offer?

As a nursing home, Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home provides residential (live-in) care, meaning the resident moves into the facility on a full-time basis. This differs from home-care or day-care arrangements where a caregiver visits or the elder attends a centre during the day only. Residential nursing homes are appropriate when the level of medical supervision, nursing care, or personal care required exceeds what can be safely managed at home or through a day-care programme. Families should discuss the scope of clinical services — such as wound care, medication management, tube feeding, and mobility assistance — as well as visiting hours and overnight-stay policies, directly with the home. A short-stay or respite admission, if available, can serve as a useful trial before committing to permanent placement.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Nursing homes operating in Singapore are required to be licensed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and to meet staffing standards that include registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and healthcare assistants. Homes are subject to regular MOH inspections and must comply with clinical care standards set out in the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act. Families should confirm directly with Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home the nursing-to-resident ratio, the availability of trained dementia care staff if relevant, and whether specialist services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, or palliative care are provided on-site or through referral. It is also worth asking whether the home carries professional indemnity and public liability insurance covering resident incidents and caregiver-related events.
