The provider has been verified by KakiList and is registered with ACRA. Families considering a nursing home placement typically begin with a care needs assessment covering the resident's mobility, medical conditions, cognitive status, and personal care requirements. It is worth establishing whether the home provides nursing care around the clock, how medical emergencies are handled, and whether allied health services such as physiotherapy or occupational therapy are available on-site or through visiting practitioners. Families should also clarify the admission process, what documentation is required, and whether a trial or short-stay arrangement can be arranged before committing to long-term residency. Visiting the home in person, meeting the nursing team, and speaking with families of current residents will give a clearer sense of day-to-day care standards than any listing can convey.

To take the next step, contact St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to request a care assessment appointment and obtain current fee information, subsidy eligibility guidance, and availability.

This nursing home looks great and well designed, I highly expect the service and quality of their service. BUT first step is already changed my impression of the service standard. The reception staff sound rude and suggested the centre should look into it, send him for training or replace them. When we enquire about the visiting the staff don't even look at us to reply, just say "4 pm... 4 pm" which we walked in without being aware of the visiting hour. Nowadays, we all comment about attitude issues and because of cheap labour, this will damage the reputation and country's image too.

Hello n a good afternoon, I would like to thank all the staffs in this nursing home the excellent care n dedication shown by looking after the needs of miss Loke Yuen Kit her passing on 3/7/2025 , she is my god sister, I was part of this Loke family when my mother decided to look for a nanny to look after me, I was a baby, through some introduction, Yuen Kits mother became my nanny she was more than that as years goes on I became so so attached to this family that every school term holiday I would stayed with them n would cry n refused to go home to my mother. Yuen Kit dedication, sacrificed and love to her mother was when she made a vow to her mother she would not marry n help her mother to look after her 3 younger sisters, her father passed on in his early thirties. Missed your advices, love, voice, smile, rest in peace . Tony

I wish to feed back on the care standard of this nursing home. Every time I visit my mum at this nursing home, I end up arguing with staff on their callous and indifferent care attitude . The staff always give a answer of ‘I don’t know’ to my questions! On 3.12.23 I pushed my mum downstairs for a walk. On the way back, i was told by the security officer that the lift was out of order. He gave me a number to call. I called the number to inform the staff that the lift wasn’t working. She said ‘I need to check’ and hung up. I waited another half an hour before it finally worked. Why was the response so slow. Why should my mum who is a stroke patient suffer like this. Why is staff responding in this ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude’ ? Please bear in mind that my mum is a paying patient in this home and professional care is expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home charge?

Nursing home fees in Singapore vary by room type (single, twin-sharing, or ward) and the level of nursing care required. Published rates at government-restructured and voluntary welfare organisation (VWO) nursing homes typically range from around S$1,500 to S$4,500 per month before subsidies, with private facilities running higher. Specific fee details for St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home were not available in this listing — contact the home directly for a current fee schedule. On top of the basic monthly fee, confirm whether incontinence supplies, wound-care dressings, physiotherapy sessions, and specialist clinic escorts are included or billed separately. Public holiday and weekend nursing surcharges may also apply. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home offer?

St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home is a residential nursing home, meaning care is provided on a full-time live-in basis. Residents are admitted for long-term stay rather than on a per-visit or day-care arrangement. Nursing staff are present around the clock to manage personal care, medication administration, and any medical needs that arise. Families should clarify visiting hours, overnight guest arrangements, and the protocol for residents who require hospital transfers. A trial or respite-care admission — where available — can help families assess whether the home's environment and care approach are a good fit before transitioning to long-term residency. Discuss the replacement or discharge process with the admissions team if the placement does not meet expectations.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Nursing homes in Singapore that receive government subsidies are regulated by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and are required to maintain specified staffing ratios of registered nurses and enrolled nurses relative to residents. Nursing staff must hold recognised qualifications issued or recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board. Care aides typically hold WSQ certificates in healthcare support. No specific regulatory licences were listed for St John's - St Margaret's Nursing Home at the time of this listing — families should verify the home's MOH licensing status directly with the Ministry of Health or by requesting to see the home's licence on-site. Ask specifically about dementia care competencies if relevant, and confirm what professional indemnity or liability cover the home carries for incidents involving residents.
