Families considering St Luke's Hospital would typically begin with a care assessment to clarify the elder's mobility level, medical diagnoses, and personal care requirements. It is worth establishing early on whether the level of nursing or rehabilitative support on offer matches the specific clinical and daily living needs involved. Key questions include the availability of dementia care, post-surgical rehabilitation, and palliative services, as well as staffing ratios, visiting hours, and the process for reviewing care plans over time. Both short-stay and long-term residential arrangements are common in this setting, and understanding which pathways are available will help the family plan accordingly.
To take the next step, contact St Luke's Hospital directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their website to request a care assessment appointment and obtain a current fee schedule.

My old father had a tkr and had to stay at St luke's ward 2C for rehab for 1 month, I am so totally impressed by the servicing hearts of almost all the staffs there that I come into contact with. The unbelievable extra care and concern (surprising me many times), given not by just one or two but it seems like everyone in the entire hospital has this life goal of going all out (not just the extra mile) to not only help the patients but also the patients' family. Even the random staffs we meet in the lifts are always friendly. I strongly feel all hospitals in Singapore should have their EQ and service training under St Luke's.
My mother stayed at Ward 2B. It's a newly renovated ward equipped with a cooling fan. It's a C class ward, but it is nice and cool in the current heatwave. Premises are nice and clean. Excellent for those who need physio rehab as it has a fully equipped rehab gym, well trained therapists and even a mockup car to practice getting in and out of vehicles. Nurses are very caring and attentive! Thanks so much to all the staffs, she's improved tremendously during her stay here.
I would like to sincerely thank the nurses, MSW Si Jie & Janelle, and Dr. Ong at Ward 2D for their care during my dad Mr Chua from Bed 10 three‑week stay at St. Luke’s Hospice before his passing. Although I was unable to be present daily, their constant updates on my dad’s condition, along with some precious photos shared before his demise, meant a great deal to me and my family. Thank you for your dedication and compassion during this difficult time.
My father in law has been admitted at this temporary care facility hospital for more than 2 weeks. He is now been transferred to another hospital. However while being transferred to the ambulance the nurse had forgotten to pack his pair of shoe. It’s upsetting for him as he was told by the ambulance staff that everything was packed and that was confirmed by the nurse. This incompetence is not acceptable. My father in law also commented that whenever he push the button for services it took them quite sometime to respond.I do hope things will be better for in the future. We will try not come back there in the future. The staff needs to be more attentive towards their patients and their needs. Now my husband has to travel to East to West just to get his shoe. Its been a tiring journey for him to visit nearly every other day for him to do so and now this incident happen. It would be nice if the hospital had offered to sent the pair of shoe. But know my husband has to collect it himself after a lengthy day at work.
Nurse Tracey at the nursing home cared for my sister (Asotha) with such compassion and dedication, it felt as if she were part of our own family. Her kindness, patience, and genuine concern made all the difference during a difficult time. - Molly

St Luke's Hospital does not publish a detailed fee schedule publicly, so families should contact the facility directly for a current breakdown. Nursing home fees in Singapore typically range from S$1,500 to S$4,500 per month depending on ward class, level of nursing care required, and the resident's subsidy eligibility. Agency fees and caregiver salaries are not applicable here as this is a residential facility rather than a home-care arrangement. Additional costs to confirm in writing include personal consumables, incontinence supplies, therapy sessions (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy), and any specialist medical reviews conducted on-site. Public holiday surcharges and transport for off-site appointments should also be clarified. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →
St Luke's Hospital operates as a residential nursing home, which means care is provided on a full-time, on-site basis rather than through home visits. Residents live within the facility and receive round-the-clock nursing support, personal care, and medical oversight as part of the admission arrangement. This is distinct from home-care or day-care models where the elder remains at home. Some nursing homes in Singapore also offer short-stay or respite admission — typically two to four weeks — which allows families to assess the environment before committing to long-term residential care, or to arrange temporary cover during caregiver leave. Families should ask St Luke's Hospital directly whether respite beds are currently available and how the waitlist for longer-term admission is managed.
As a hospital-affiliated nursing home, St Luke's Hospital is expected to employ registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and care staff who meet Ministry of Health (MOH) standards. Families should ask directly about staff-to-resident ratios across day, evening, and night shifts, as these vary by facility and directly affect care quality. For dementia or palliative care needs, it is worth confirming whether staff hold relevant specialist training or certifications. MOH registers and licenses nursing homes in Singapore; families can cross-reference the facility's operating licence status on the MOH Healthcare Institution Directory. Professional indemnity and facility insurance covering residents are standard requirements for licensed nursing homes, but confirm the scope of coverage directly before admission.
