About St Theresa's Home

About St Theresa's Home

St Theresa's Home is an eldercare provider offering home nursing services islandwide from its base at 49 Upper Thomson Road. It is verified by KakiList, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. The provider holds a 3.7 out of 5 across 34 Google reviews — a moderate sample size, though the rating itself warrants attention and families should weigh individual reviews carefully before proceeding.

Families considering home nursing typically begin with a care assessment to establish the elder's mobility, medical conditions, and daily support requirements. From there, the scope is matched to appropriate services — whether that covers wound care, medication administration, post-hospitalisation support, or companionship visits. It is worth clarifying upfront whether care is delivered by registered nurses or care aides, how many hours per day or week are required, and whether the arrangement is visit-based or involves longer daily attendance. Family decision-makers should also discuss the handover process, documentation of care notes, and what happens if a scheduled nurse is unavailable.

To take the next step, contact St Theresa's Home by phone or via their enquiry form to describe the elder's care needs and arrange an initial assessment before committing to a care plan.

If a procedural issue occurs, it would be more constructive to reflect on the process rather than openly blaming staff within earshot.. Maintaining professionalism benefits everyone involved.

Nice peaceful Catholic nursing home for elderly situated right at the doorstep to Macritchie Reservoir. Tranquil and green environment (but they do get regular visits from the local long-tailed macaques! 🐒) Close to Marymount MRT station and served by regular buses running from Yishun / AMK into town and beyond.

Horrible nursing home. My uncle is getting abused and neglected here.

The service is very bad! The security guard at the door was sleeping, and when I woke him up, he served me in a very bad tone! Is this the service attitude of a nursing home? You can imagine how the elderly living there will feel?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does St Theresa's Home charge?

Home nursing fees in Singapore are typically billed on an hourly or per-visit basis. Hourly rates at registered home care providers generally range from S$20 to S$60 or more, depending on the level of care (care aide versus registered nurse) and time of day. Public holidays and weekend visits commonly attract a surcharge. Beyond the hourly or visit rate, confirm whether consumables such as wound dressings or catheters are billed separately, and whether a transport fee applies. For families managing costs over the long term, AIC-administered subsidies and MediFund assistance may be available depending on the elder's citizenship status and household income. Contact St Theresa's Home directly for a detailed breakdown. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does St Theresa's Home offer?

St Theresa's Home is listed under home nursing, which typically operates on a visit-based model — a nurse or care professional attends for a set number of hours rather than residing in the home. This suits families who need clinical support such as wound care, tube feeding, or post-discharge monitoring on a scheduled basis, while the elder continues to live at home. For families weighing visit-based nursing against a live-in arrangement, the key considerations are the elder's medical complexity, overnight supervision needs, and carer fatigue within the household. A trial period of two to four weeks is advisable before committing to a long-term care schedule. Confirm the replacement or cover policy in writing in case an assigned nurse is unwell or unavailable.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

For home nursing services, the minimum expectation is that nurses hold a valid nursing registration with the Singapore Nursing Board under the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). Care aides should have completed recognised eldercare or nursing aide training. Ask St Theresa's Home directly for the qualifications of the staff assigned to your family member, and confirm whether the provider carries insurance covering caregiver injury on-site or incidents involving the client. Note that St Theresa's Home does not currently list AIC or MOH registration in its published details on KakiList, which is typically expected of providers offering clinical home care. Families should raise this directly with the provider and verify licensing status before commencing care. This listing does not confirm clinical registration. Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
