About Stage Camp (Singapore Repertory Theatre / STC)

About Stage Camp (Singapore Repertory Theatre / STC)

Stage Camp, run by the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT), offers holiday camp programmes for young people at its home base at 20 Merbau Road, with reach across Singapore. The provider is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered, and holds a 4.4/5 rating across 302 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides a reliable signal of consistent quality.

Parents enquiring about Stage Camp should begin by confirming which holiday camp session suits their child's age group and experience level, as SRT typically structures programmes by developmental stage. It is worth checking whether the camp is suited to absolute beginners or to children with prior drama or performance experience, and whether it culminates in a showcase or in-class performance. Enquire about group sizes, the facilitator-to-participant ratio, and what materials or costumes, if any, participants are expected to bring or purchase. Most holiday camp bookings at performing arts organisations do not require a long-term term commitment, but popular sessions fill quickly, so early registration is advisable. Confirm the cancellation and refund policy before paying, particularly for multi-week blocks.

To secure a place, visit the SRT website or contact Stage Camp directly by phone or through the enquiry form on the listing to check upcoming holiday camp dates, age-group eligibility, and current availability.

Very disappointed in SRT. I booked tickets to their recent play in November, only to get a rude shock on the day itself that the venue stated on the ticket was wrong! This meant that i had rushed my dinner and travel plans only to show up at a venue that was screening another performance. At the end of the day, i didnt even find out where the play really was!!! I ended up paying for a play that I never watched. To make things worse, there was no point of contact. The SRT office was closed, so i left a voice message. I also wrote an email with picture proof but it has been a whole working week and I have heard nothing. Am feeling appalled by the whole lack of professionalism and accountability right now. Beware.

Excellent simple small theatre that hosts small production. Came here for the children’s classic story of three little pigs. They did a wonderful job expanding on the characters. Especially the big bad wolf, definitely knocked it out of the park with its breaking the fourth wall performance. Bravo!

Decent event space With Sullivan for Art SG 2026

This location is actually hard to find as it was between construction sites. For Art SG week, they host special exhibitions there free of charge, an intimate space, worth seeing if you are new National Art Gallery and fancy seeing various art around the city.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Stage Camp (Singapore Repertory Theatre / STC) charge per session?

Stage Camp operates on a holiday camp model rather than a standard per-session or monthly fee structure. Pricing typically varies by camp duration (half-day, full-day, or multi-day block), the age group, and the specific programme. Holiday drama camps at established performing arts organisations in Singapore generally range from S$300 to S$900 for a week-long programme, though this is a market reference — contact Stage Camp directly for current fees. It is worth asking whether the fee covers all materials, costumes, and any end-of-camp showcase, or whether there are add-ons. Sibling discounts and early-bird rates are occasionally available. Can I try a class before committing?

Stage Camp's holiday camps are typically booked as complete blocks rather than individual drop-in sessions, so a standalone trial class in the traditional sense may not be available. However, SRT occasionally runs open houses, taster workshops, or introductory sessions — it is worth asking directly when you enquire. When assessing fit, consider whether your child has attended a drama or performing arts programme before, and whether the camp's level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) matches their experience. Reading past participant reviews and, where possible, speaking with the camp facilitator beforehand can help you gauge whether the teaching style and group energy will suit your child.

What are the tutors' credentials at Stage Camp (Singapore Repertory Theatre / STC)?

Stage Camp is delivered under the umbrella of the Singapore Repertory Theatre, one of Singapore's longest-established professional theatre companies. Camp facilitators are typically trained theatre practitioners or drama educators with professional performance and teaching experience, though specific qualifications vary by individual. It is advisable to ask directly about the lead facilitator's background for the specific camp session you are considering — relevant indicators include formal drama or education training, experience working with children in the relevant age group, and any alignment with recognised drama curricula or frameworks. SRT's institutional reputation provides a degree of quality assurance, but confirming the individual facilitator's experience is still worthwhile before booking.
