Strokearts is a fabulous place to learn any art you desire to learn. I'm an adult currently learning Madhubani art and Lippon art from Shivali, and it has been a wonderful experience. Shivali is an excellent teacher - patient, knowledgeable and truly passionate about the art forms. I really appreciate how also she shares the background and history behind each art, which makes the learning even more meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone interested in any art form .

My 13yo child had a fantastic experience with the holiday art program! The 8-hr acrylic painting session on an A1 canvas was incredibly fun and inspiring. It was wonderful to see my child fully engaged, exploring colours, textures and techniques with confidence. The instructor was patient and encouraging, creating a supportive space for creativity to flourish. Our child came home proud of her artwork and excited to paint more - highly recommend this program for budding young artists!

I thoroughly enjoyed doing my koi fish madhubani painting under Shivali’s guidance. From the time we discussed what to draw and how to draw, Shivali was really open to my ideas and that’s motivated me to get this right to perfection. She lets the student share what they want before telling them what to do. I enjoyed every bit of color in my painting and was so satisfied to bring it to life. The little details to the color combinations, the chit chats we had, it was a fulfilling experience. Many more to go!!!

Shivali Mathur is a wonderful artist and art educator. Her knowledge of her subject is wide and deep. I have been to many of her art workshops and she has never failed to make it memorable for me. Would recommend her workshops and regular art courses to anyone who wants to enhance their skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Strokearts charge per session?

Strokearts displays a mid-range pricing tier ($$) but does not publicly list specific per-session or package rates. Enrichment classes in Singapore typically run on a per-session, monthly, or per-term basis, and fees vary by subject, format (group vs one-to-one), and class duration. It is common for providers to charge separately for consumable materials or assessment workbooks. Some providers offer sibling discounts or reduced rates for block-term bookings. A trial class, if available, may be priced separately from the regular session rate. Contact Strokearts directly to obtain a current fee schedule before committing. See the full enrichment classes cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many enrichment providers in Singapore offer a trial class for prospective students, sometimes at a reduced or standard session fee. A trial gives both the student and the parent an opportunity to assess whether the teaching style, pace, and class level are a good fit before signing up for a full term. During a trial, observe whether the student is actively engaged, whether the content is appropriately pitched to their level, and whether the instructor's approach suits how the child learns. Ask whether the trial fee is refundable or credited against a term enrolment if you proceed. Contact Strokearts via WhatsApp or phone to confirm whether a trial class is available and what it entails.

What are the tutor's credentials at Strokearts?

Strokearts has not publicly listed specific tutor qualifications, NIE or MOE teaching backgrounds, or degree credentials. For art-based enrichment programmes, relevant credentials might include formal training from a recognised arts institution, years of teaching experience, or syllabus alignment with MOE, IGCSE, or other examination frameworks. If tutor background is important to your decision — particularly if your child is preparing for examinations or a portfolio — it is advisable to ask Strokearts directly about the instructors' qualifications and experience before enrolling. Reach out via the contact channels listed to request this information prior to committing to a class.
