About TAG International Tennis Academy

About TAG International Tennis Academy

TAG International Tennis Academy is a KakiList-verified sports education provider operating across Singapore, offering tennis coaching under the Education category. It holds a Google rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 30 reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. The academy is based at Winchester Tennis Arena, 12A Winchester Rd, Singapore 117786, and covers islandwide locations. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific session or programme fees were not available at the time of listing.

Prospective students or parents should enquire about the appropriate level and programme fit — whether that is junior beginner, intermediate competitive, or adult recreational coaching. It is worth confirming whether classes are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both the pace of development and the fee structure. Asking about trial class availability is a sensible first step before committing to a term. For juniors, it is also useful to clarify syllabus alignment with any competitive pathway (such as Singapore Tennis Association grading), minimum age requirements, and whether the coach holds relevant tennis coaching certifications.

To get started, reach out to TAG International Tennis Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current programme availability, group sizes, and trial class options before committing to a term.

TAG has quite good team of coaches and my coach Mikoy is a great guy, friendly and motivating coaching style and patience as well. Their admin team, however, is horrible. Badly organized and randomly assigned locations without any heads-ups. Their daily response is very slow so painstaking for any communication (other than the initial package purchase)

My child had a horrible experience with the coach, who did not bother to create rapport with him despite it being his first lesson. Also, despite knowing that it's my child's first lesson, the coach did not care to guide him with the correct racket grip nor the strokes. Instead, he was visibly irritated and shouted at my child several times because he did it wrongly (obviously he wouldn't know since the coach didn't guide), causing my child to be tremendously intimidated. This was the worst trial experience ever and I will never recommend this coach or academy to any parents who wants to sign their child up for tennis. I've sent my child to another trial tennis lesson as well and it was a whole world of difference, so this was without a doubt a terrible experience.

Although the coach provides professional course guidance to the child, the child often fails to understand. It is difficult for the child to communicate with the coach and needs a long time to understand.

My daughter was trained by coach RJ and Dave. As my daughter is a newbie, the coaches were very patience towards her. She enjoyed their classes very much. Would highly recommend TAG!

Court hire: comes with very stringent rain cancellation policy - no refund, only allows rescheduling if you take a video of the wet court. If the company wants to based off cancellation policy on the weather, the burden of proof is on the company. No one should have to make a trip in vain just to look at (and pay for) a wet tennis court. Lessons: The coaches are usually good players themselves but could improve in terms of communication and professionalism. Court condition: Good in general, but needs more active maintenance: Court 1's net is always worn out, court 2 is not resurfaced as frequently, lots of cracks forming tripping hazard. The light is uneven and goes out frequently. Trash can be spotted inside of the court frequently.

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tennis academies in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee, to allow students and parents to assess whether the programme is a good fit. During a trial session, it is useful to observe the coach-to-student ratio, how the coach adapts instruction to different ability levels, and whether the pace and style suits the learner. For juniors, consider whether the session keeps the child engaged and whether the coach explains corrections clearly. For adults, assess whether the coaching style matches your goal — whether that is recreational fitness, technique improvement, or competitive play. Contact TAG International Tennis Academy directly to confirm whether a trial class is available and what the associated cost is before signing up for a full term.

What are the coaches' credentials at TAG International Tennis Academy?

When enquiring, it is worth asking whether coaches hold certifications from recognised bodies such as the Singapore Tennis Association (STA), Tennis Australia, the International Tennis Federation (ITF), or the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). Experience coaching at a particular level — junior development, competitive juniors, or adult recreational — is also relevant, as is familiarity with any specific syllabus or competitive pathway your child may be following. If this information is not readily available on their website or marketing materials, ask TAG International Tennis Academy directly before committing to a programme.
