About Tai Chang Medical TCM

About Tai Chang Medical TCM

Tai Chang Medical TCM is a traditional Chinese medicine clinic located at 419 Tampines Street 41, #01-102 Sun Plaza, offering TCM services islandwide. The clinic holds a KakiList verification, confirming operating details and contact information. It carries a rating of 4.6 out of 5 across 19 Google reviews, though the small sample size means this should be treated as directional rather than definitive. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range ($$); specific session fees were not provided.

Patients typically begin with a first consultation in which the TCM practitioner takes a detailed history, conducts tongue and pulse diagnosis, and discusses presenting conditions — whether pain management, musculoskeletal complaints, fertility support, digestive issues, stress, or general wellness. From there, a treatment plan is established, which may combine acupuncture, tui na, cupping, moxibustion, or herbal prescriptions depending on the individual's needs. It is worth confirming whether sessions are billed individually or via a package, and clarifying the cancellation policy before committing to a course of treatment.

Good Man. His charges are considerate and logical even though it is still a penny for penny business, if he cannot deal with the issue he will tell you upfront and wouldnt try to shortchange you giving you falsehopes like the other quacks popping up these days charging few hundreds per session. Been around since late 1970s Alot of elderly see him for similar issues like titar, general respiratory issues and i overheard many mentioned they seen improvements compared to western medicine or other tcm. He also knows his tcm pharmaceuticals well, and diy that magic potion syrup he gives you altering from its standardized form with different powders according to your issues. I had neuro issues and he had helped me improve tremendously compared to physio and rehab, and he does not give you false hopes if you can be cured or not he tells you with his honest opinions. One pro tip, if you unfortunately have shingles hes your man to go, just 2 sessions you will be fine. Otherwise many younger male like myself go to hin for titar though, and avoid thursdays for some reason very long queues even if you arrive before official opening time. Just be prepared to wait for a long time if you go at peak hours before closing or opening time on thursdays!

Skilled one man show uncle with years of experience in solving sprains and pulled ligaments. i had my back frozen up from a long haul flight and couldn't stand straight. He managed to help me stand and alleviate my pain in 1 session. (est ~ $50 / session) I would give 5 stars if only they could accept other payment modes besides cash.

I had an amazing experience with my TCM doctor. His tuina technique was incredibly skillful, and I appreciated his honesty in not suggesting unnecessary expenses. Remarkably, he resolved my 3-weeks of back pain in just 15 minutes. I highly recommend his expertise and efficient care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Tai Chang Medical TCM charge per session?

Specific session fees for Tai Chang Medical TCM were not listed at the time of publication. As a general guide, TCM consultations in Singapore typically run S$20–50, with acupuncture sessions at S$40–100 and herbal prescriptions billed separately at S$20–80 per week depending on the formula. Tui na and cupping are often bundled with the consultation or charged at S$40–80 per session. Many clinics offer package discounts for recurring treatments — confirm whether this applies, whether GST is included in quoted prices, and what the cancellation or no-show policy is before committing to a course. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No referral is required to visit a TCM clinic — you can book directly. At your first visit, expect to complete an intake form covering your medical history, current medications, and presenting complaint. The practitioner will then conduct a tongue and pulse assessment as part of the TCM diagnostic process before recommending a treatment approach. If you have a complex or chronic condition — diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or are undergoing concurrent Western medical treatment — it is advisable to inform both your GP and TCM practitioner so they can coordinate safely, particularly where herbal prescriptions and prescription medications may interact. A GP referral is not required but can support insurance claims if your policy covers TCM.

Is the practitioner at Tai Chang Medical TCM licensed?

In Singapore, TCM practitioners — including acupuncturists and those dispensing herbal medicine — are regulated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration is mandatory and publicly verifiable on the TCMPB register at moh.gov.sg. You should confirm the consulting practitioner's name and registration number before your first session. No regulatory licences were listed for Tai Chang Medical TCM on KakiList at the time of publication. This does not necessarily mean the practitioners are unregistered — many clinics simply do not submit licence details to directories. Confirm the practitioner's TCMPB registration directly with the clinic before treatment.
