I had a really good experience working with Tan Carpenters, especially because of their positive service attitude. From the start, they were friendly, approachable, and easy to communicate with no fuss, no ego, just genuine people trying to do a good job. What stood out was how willing they were to accommodate changes, even when some of them were last-minute. For example, I asked to tweak the shelving heights after installation began, and they adjusted it without hesitation. They also gave helpful suggestions when I wasn’t sure about certain design decisions, which made the process smoother and less stressful. During the installation, they kept the work area tidy and were punctual and respectful of my time, which I really appreciated. Even when I spotted a small alignment issue with one cabinet door, they came back the next day to fix it… no excuses, just took care of it professionally. Overall, it was a very pleasant and smooth experience, and I’d definitely recommend Tan Carpenters to anyone looking for a team that’s not only skilled, but also nice to work with.

After looking at their website, I thought I'd give them a try. It's still ok at first as it's mainly to work out a draft for the shelf. Before making the payment, I did ask them if the end product turns out to be different than expected, would there be any additional cost to make the new changes. I was told that they will build the product based on the draft. So I made sure the draft have all the right measurements etc. On the day that the product is supposed to be ready, they sent me photos of the final product, I then realized it looks somewhat different to what I have on the draft. I brought it up to them requesting to have some parts to be adjusted. I was then told that alterations requires additional $100. I explained to them that the final product is not the same as what I have on the draft to begin with and I requested for additional information on the product. That's when they went MIA on me, they have clearly read the messages that I've sent on WhatsApp but no reply from them. This went on for a few days. I would not wish for someone to have the same or worse experience as mine so perhaps it's worth looking elsewhere for your carpentry jobs. It’s not much of a customized furniture when they don’t even get it right There’s definitely a difference in response time before making payment vs after. Expect replies to be a few days late or none at all especially when you’re chasing for your delivery. The final product looks fine upon arrival, only when I started using the item did I notice a number of construction faults which made the ease of use less enjoyable.
