I've been attending AWS English lessons for 2 years and I'm absolutely glad I joined them. AWS tutors have exceptional teaching skills and ability to simplify complex concepts such as summary writing. They have great materials and their lessons are definitely one of a kind. Their patience and supportive approach have significantly improved my English Proficiency! I'm pleased to credit them for my distinction(A1/A2) in my recent English tests. Thanks AWS!

Mr Roy was a very patient and engaging teacher. Even though I had a short stint with him, I learned a lot from him from the in-depth analysis and tips he provided. He always stayed back after lessons to answer any questions we had and explained it till we understood. Overall, I had a very good experience at AWS, and Mr Roy is an amazing teacher! 🤩

start by saying I’ve been impressed with all aspects of the Academic Workshop team. Frankly in a world of too many “tuition” Centres - finally a group of folks who love the kids. And work hard to support them and see them grow. From the admin to the several teachers my child has met - we’ve been impressed with the professionalism (there is a job to be done) but an emphasis on joyful learning and tools to learn. I only wish a do over where I met Melissa and team earlier! I’m looking forward to seeing my child grow with them - he’s in good hands.

My teenage child joined AW last year and has truly enjoyed learning there. The teachers are very caring and consistently keep us closely updated on her progress. They respect each student’s individuality and actively promote a love for learning. Since joining, my child has shown continuous improvement and developed a strong interest in the subjects she has taken up.

I attended General Paper tuition lessons here in preparation for my A-levels, and the lessons were crafted and delivered well. I enjoyed the weekly classes at AWS, and they tackled all parts of the subject well. I am grateful that the strategies and content taught at AWS enabled me to score an A for General Paper at the A-levels!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "The Academic Workshop" charge per session?

The Academic Workshop has not published a specific per-session rate on this listing, so you will need to enquire directly for a current fee schedule. In the Singapore private tuition market, rates typically vary by academic level — primary, secondary, JC, or tertiary — as well as by format (one-to-one versus small group). Group sessions generally run lower per head than individual lessons. Ask whether fees are charged per session, bundled into a monthly package, or structured by school term. Clarify whether a trial class is charged at the standard rate or at a reduced introductory fee, and whether printed or digital materials carry a separate cost. Sibling discounts or multi-subject packages may also be available. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class so that students can assess teaching style, pacing, and level appropriateness before signing up for a full term. It is worth asking The Academic Workshop directly whether a trial session is available, what it costs, and whether any payment is credited toward subsequent lessons if you proceed. During a trial, pay attention to whether the tutor adjusts explanations to the student's existing knowledge, whether the student feels comfortable asking questions, and whether the content aligns with the current school syllabus. A single session is usually sufficient to form a clear impression of fit. Contact The Academic Workshop via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form to arrange one.

What are the tutors' credentials at "The Academic Workshop"?

Credential details for the tutors at The Academic Workshop are not published in this listing. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether tutors hold a degree in the subject they teach, whether any have an NIE qualification or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching at the relevant level. Also confirm which syllabus the tutor is familiar with — MOE PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IP, IB, or IGCSE — as alignment with your child's exact examination format matters considerably. If a specific tutor has been recommended to you, ask whether that individual will consistently conduct your child's sessions or whether assignments rotate. Contact The Academic Workshop directly to request this information before committing to a term.
